@30SecondsToMarsJess Something about the translations. You can only be friends with someone your age. If she's younger, she has to call him "oppa", not "friend". So she can't call him friend, but they can still be friends :)

@30SecondsToMarsJess "friend" is like a ranking level in korea. its like saying you're equal to someone in terms of seniority. thats why he wants her to call him "oppa" which is meant for girls to say to older guys.

theoretically you cant EVER be "friends" with anyone older, based on korea's seniority system, but it basically only applies when you're speaking. of course people can be friends in the general sense :PP its confusing, yeah, but, korea is a very cultured country ^^
