  • waooooo!!! niceeeee 100% A =D this is my favorite color!

  • Why don't you open your mouth when you speak?

  • @Xanthiaxx who cares?

  • @Ultranothing Obviously I do, hence why I asked the question.

  • @Xanthiaxx I think the point my girlfriend (who has apparently commandeered my YT account) was trying to make, was not who, specifically, cared - since we don't need you to remind us that it was you who asked the question.

She was using the metaphorical expression of the term, "Who cares?", as in, "Why do you care?"

Allow me to re-phrase the question:

Why are you concerning yourself with the subtleties and trivialities of a persons facial expressions and/or mannerisms of speech?

  • @Ultranothing I do need to remind you since the vast majority of people on youtube have the IQ of a baboon's rectum with a personality to match; including your girlfriend who replied to either be controversial or defend goldiestarling who, I wasn't aware, I'd offended.

I asked the question because I'm a. at liberty to do so and b. was interested in the answer. I could just as easily pose the question: why is your mrs concerning herself with my throw-away question that I posted 1 month ago?

  • I see. So "Why don't you open your mouth when you speak" couldn't possibly be construed as argumentative or "controversial". Regardless of whether or not goldiestarling was offended, the question clearly frames your criticism and disapproval.

And sure, it's your right to ask pompous, trivial questions as much as she is at liberty to waste her time responding to it.

She moves her mouth when she speaks. She isn't miming the words. Your ego is what fueled the question. "I am never wrong"?

  • @Ultranothing Perhaps if I followed "why don't you open your mouth when you speak" with "it looks really stupid", then yes. Since, however, I used to be subscribed to her, I disagree that it was a criticism and more out of curiosity; which, for some reason, I have to keep reminding you.

If you agree that it's my right to ask "pompous, trivial" questions then what exactly are we discussing?

  • More out of curiosity? And I'm to believe that your inquiry stemmed from some genuine care or concern, as opposed to criticism, because you weren't more literal in your critique?

Oh, I see - you're concerned she may have potential health issues, and you were going to try to help her figure out what medical condition might be causing the lack of movement in her lips during speech.

You "used to" be subscribed to her. Why aren't you now? That's the proof you weren't being critical? Please

  • @Ultranothing Despite your ability to string a sentence together you're obviously as simple as your other half. Though it's not "proof" that I wasn't being critical, it would suggest that, had I had such a big problem with her and her "lack of movement", I wouldn't have subscribed in the first place.

Curiosity: "inquisitiveness; the tendency to ask questions" - not one definition mentioned "care" or "concern". So, again, what are we discussing?

  • Since we're playing semantics, I might point out that "Curiosity" is from the Latin "curiosus"; careful, diligent, curious, akin to cura, "CARE".

Can a person be curious to know a thing if they didn't care at all about it? Of course not - and even if you couldn't find a mention of "care" as being in some way synonymous with curiosity, it was YOU who answered "I do..." in response to the question, "Who cares?".

And your explanation for why you "cared", was "curiosity", was it not?

  • @Ultranothing But as you kindly poined out previously, your gf didn't actually mean who "cares" in the way you're now trying to suggest but used it in the "metaphorical" sense.

Even if your latin is correct (since I don't know), it's still meaningless since lexicon evolves over time; meanings diversify and sometimes change completely. Even if their origins remain the same, the way people interpret and use them in everyday life change.

  • And to answer your question, "what are we discussing?":

You have posed an obviously critical question to goldiestarling, inquiring as to why she doesn't move her mouth when she speaks.

The question itself implies that you find her mannerisms of speech to be faulty in some way, ie., she should move her mouth more when speaking.

I'm trying to get an HONEST answer to what motivated the question. Her mannerisms of speech aren't up to your standards, and you were pointing that out! Admit it!

  • @Ultranothing Thus, when I say I'm curious, my only interest was to the answer and not due to "some genuine care or concern" or concern that "she may have potential health issues".

Even if I thought she should move her mouth more when she speaks, just because I ask the question "why don't you do that", doesn't mean I must be being critical. Why do you assume people must have some other motivation? Don't you ever ask a question merely to discover an answer?

  • There can only be ONE motivation behind the question, and the fact that you've been able to argue, convincingly perhaps to some, for so long in opposition to that obvious reality is very commendable. I totally respect your intelligence and wit. It's this kind of rhetoric that got O.J. off, and hey! Whatever works for you! But you're still wrong this time, and once you find the strength to swallow your pride and admit that you were being...kinda bitchy...ok? We can move on to greener pastures

  • @Ultranothing Your argument is obviously losing steam so I take it that's your last ditch attempt to procure my "confession". I commend the fact that you have the balls to say I'm wrong even though it's blindingly obvious you've just run out of things to say. Next time, keep your amoeba off youtube so you don't have to defend her honour in a battle of words with some girl from England.

  • Losing steam? Hardly. I'm quite enjoying your responses, actually. Each one another shovelful for the hole you're digging. It's painfully obvious that you're just too proud and self-righteous to make that confession that you KNOW you must.

In case we've somehow gotten off-track, let me be clear:

I know you were being critical and insulting by asking goldiestarling "Why don't you move your mouth when you speak?" Your question can NOT be interpreted ANY OTHER WAY.

    Be honest.

  • @Ultranothing I don't KNOW that I must confess anything, since, even if there was something to reveal, I could just as easily continue to do this. I'm happy to humour you since you're obviously one of those people who likes to think they can argue effectively and is good at "reading" people; I know that since I think it about myself. Unfortunately, you've now perhaps come to realise that you were wrong in your assumption or (if you hadn't got that far) that I'm not gonna "admit" anything.

  • Since there's no doubt that my assumption (or, to use a better word, reasoning) is the absolute truth, I will continue to believe, as I have always believed, that it is your pride and self-satisfaction which keeps you from being straightforward.

Based upon your inquiry, "Why don't you move your mouth when you speak?", your answer to MY question, ""Do you think she should move her lips more..." could ONLY be "Yes."

I don't need you to admit it, but at least tell me you understand?

  • What other reason would one have to ask such a question? "Why don't you move your mouth when you speak?" You say it's curiosity, and nothing more, but that can not be. The question was inspired by your belief that she isn't speaking properly.

I feel that you were being overly critical of her based upon your insinuations, and if you just answer this one question HONESTLY, then we can both agree that you were wrong, and move on:

Do you think she should move her lips more, when she speaks?

  • @Ultranothing Thus, instead of continuing to debate my possible motive for asking the question you've moved on to telling me that I must "be honest". Honesty got me nowhere since, just as you claim that I'm stubborn, so are you. Since you think there can be no other possible reason other than me being a bitch you refuse to accept the fact that I answered your question maybe a week ago.

  • "Possible" motive? I commend your painstaking efforts to word every sentence so that it couldn't possibly be misunderstood as an admission.

And while we may both be stubborn, the difference here is that, while I persist in the truth, you're relentless in the lie.

Also, could you point me to where you answered that question? I looked, and I couldn't find it.

P.S., I don't think you're a "bitch". I thought you were being "kinda bitchy", which in no way represents my entire viewpoint on you.

  • @Ultranothing The reason I asked the question was because panacea81 (another make-up guru on youtube) disliked her teeth and disliked showing them - on and off camera. I believe she now has them crowned. I'm sure you'll find fault with my explanation/disregard it altogether since you've spent this long trying to grind out my "confession". Sorry it's such an anti-climax but I've quite enjoyed the banter that my curiosity's raised.

  • It's natural for you to presume that I'd find fault with your explanation, since it's absolutely ridiculous.

Let's break it down: You asked goldiestarling why she doesn't move her mouth when she speaks, because another youtuber, panacea81, said she doesn't like to show her teeth on her make-up videos? You were interested to know if these same feelings of inadequacy is what's keeping goldiestarlings teeth hidden?

So I was right! Your ego feeds on the shortcomings of others. I win ;)

  • @Ultranothing Bless you. "I win". I used to say that at the end of arguments when I was about 13... usually when I'd lost. Since you spent all this time trying to prove me wrong and fuel your own ego, when I presented my explanation to you I did expect this reaction. I'd be angry too if I just spent a week fighting a battle which actually didn't exist.

Out of all the nasty things I may be, revelling in others' shortcomings, as you describe it, it not something I'd do. Therefore, you're wrong.

  • Well, I'm sure we can both agree that we were fueling our own egos here. I was only trying to be "cute" with you when I said, "I win." It's not something you need to nitpick about, as I'm sure you're by now well aware of my horrendously superior intellect.

And I didn't say it because I'd lost. I said it because I've won. By that, I mean that I've proven my theory correct in a little over a week. Thank you for that.

Two people who are never wrong. Hey, I sent you a friend request, friend.

  • @Ultranothing There are plenty of reasons why someone would ask that question. Perhaps she's shy, maybe she dislikes her teeth, maybe she had reconstructive surgery and her mouth used to be wired shut... or maybe she was hit by a bus and her face is numb (yes, it's a joke. Thought I should pre-warn you incase it gets misconstrued). Sorry to disappoint you on your "reasoning" that I was being bitchy (since I do like to play that role) but you\re entirely wrong.

  • I understand that there are certain reasons why a person may have difficulty moving their mouth while speaking, but you're missing the big point, while simultaneously dodging my question:

The big point (as stated previously): She DOES move her mouth when she speaks. Having re-examined the video specifically for our conversation, I find that her speech is in no way out of the ordinary. Nowhere is there evidence of prior injury or resulting surgery.

  • @Ultranothing Obviously she "moves" her mouth since her video is a make-up tutorial, not how to become a ventriloquist. If I said, "why is your mouth a pain in the arse" I don't actually mean her mouth pains my rectal area. In my opinion (underlined), she doesn't open her mouth very wide. In your opinion (underlined) she does. I asked why since several make-up gurus that I watch have the same dislike.

  • I love it! Thanks!

  • such beautiful eyes you've got!
