Thanks! For this video, I just recorded my TV in picture-by-picture mode with a video camera. For my "You Really Got Me" video, I recorded my monitor in picture-in-picture with a camera hooked up to it. For most of my other videos, I use Adobe Premiere to overlay camera recordings.

It was an experiment that I'd never expect anyone to attempt to market. Perhaps a shell could be made to fit over the Wiimote and give it some easy-to-press fret buttons, but as I've demonstrated it, it's a nightmare only fit for masochists.

I was planning on doing this and writing my own GlovePIE script, but I thought it would be way to different from an actual guitar that the game tries to simulate.

But all in all, how are the controls?? If we download your script from your site, do you mind if we change it around a bit?

It's really nothing like a guitar and only somewhat like Guitar Hero. My goal was to make it play like Guitar Hero, but the button layout on the Wiimote makes it impossible. What I've achieved here is difficult to play because of the button arrangement, but the strumming works like a charm.  Knowing what I know now about GlovePIE scripting, there's no doubt that it could be improved upon, so feel free to modify the script, and please share at Wiili. org/forum

After watching this, I grabbed my wiimote to see if this would work well, but the button scheme is so unlike what you'd want.

Anyways, ever since I found out about glovePIE and the wiimote's bluetooth connectivity, I've been trying to use it for pretty much every app because of how awesome it is.

He connected his Wiimote to the computer via Bluetooth, then used a program to make the controls (called GlovePIE). Then he used the controls to plays Frets On Fire. What's so hard to understand about that?

And I can confirm it works as I regularly connect my Wiimote to my PC for GH3.

Don't give up! There's lots of scripts for lots of games that you will miss out on if you do! If you are using the Widcomm stack, your Remote will still show up in your Bluetooth devices even when it's not connected. You can remove it and try adding it again. Sometimes there are problems when you connect a Remote that isn't the one you first set up. But even that is fixable.

If I recall correctly, my script turns on an LED (and changes to another LED if you hold the Remote in the other hand), so if the script is working (at least for output), an LED should be on when it's running.

when im running a script no lights turn on on the WiiMote. only if i push buttons but it does that no matter what.

If you hit a button and the LEDs flash (and you're not running a script that tells it to do that), that means your Remote is not connected to your computer. If you hold the 1 and 2 buttons and the LEDs start flashing, that also means it's not connected and it's making itself "visible" for other devices to connect to it.

You're troubleshooting to see if your Wii Remote is actually connected and will work with GlovePIE. One of the random bugs of GlovePIE is that it will output (transmit sound, turn on rumble, or control the LEDs), but not respond to input (motion control or button presses. Running the Wiibrator script will let you know if input and output is working in GlovePIE.
