@irontiger All the time i have to think about the words Jürgen would have said. :-D "Now... Go on Ebay and sell your Wii, because you SUCK!" Just kidding, dude. :-D Just couldn't help about it. But really nice. Didn't know that there was a Version for the Wii. Thanks for uploading. :-)
Thanks! For this video, I just recorded my TV in picture-by-picture mode with a video camera. For my "You Really Got Me" video, I recorded my monitor in picture-in-picture with a camera hooked up to it. For most of my other videos, I use Adobe Premiere to overlay camera recordings.
I'm interested in seeing videos of anyone else attempting to play it with just a Wii Remote and Nunchuk. I know I did poorly, but I defy anyone to 5-star a song this way.
Why are you bashing him because he developed a new way to play it dumbass. at least he has the brains that you obviosly dont to write the script for it and actually test it.
It was an experiment that I'd never expect anyone to attempt to market. Perhaps a shell could be made to fit over the Wiimote and give it some easy-to-press fret buttons, but as I've demonstrated it, it's a nightmare only fit for masochists.
I was planning on doing this and writing my own GlovePIE script, but I thought it would be way to different from an actual guitar that the game tries to simulate.
But all in all, how are the controls?? If we download your script from your site, do you mind if we change it around a bit?
It's really nothing like a guitar and only somewhat like Guitar Hero. My goal was to make it play like Guitar Hero, but the button layout on the Wiimote makes it impossible. What I've achieved here is difficult to play because of the button arrangement, but the strumming works like a charm. Knowing what I know now about GlovePIE scripting, there's no doubt that it could be improved upon, so feel free to modify the script, and please share at Wiili. org/forum
yeah, what I meant was, it doesn't seem to play like an actual guitar hero guitar. but you answered the question anyways, so thanks.
After watching this, I grabbed my wiimote to see if this would work well, but the button scheme is so unlike what you'd want.
Anyways, ever since I found out about glovePIE and the wiimote's bluetooth connectivity, I've been trying to use it for pretty much every app because of how awesome it is.
Search for custom guitar hero songs on here and you'll find tonnes of videos of people playing non-standard songs with hacked Guitar Hero discs. I'm sure it's possible to do this with FoF songs, but I don't know the details on how.
He connected his Wiimote to the computer via Bluetooth, then used a program to make the controls (called GlovePIE). Then he used the controls to plays Frets On Fire. What's so hard to understand about that?
And I can confirm it works as I regularly connect my Wiimote to my PC for GH3.
Hahahaha! Flagged for what? I explain exactly what I'm doing in the video's description and you're welcome to download my GlovePIE script and try it yourself. Many others have tried it already and can confirm it's legit.
I wasn't as excited as most every other Wii owner to get the game, but I wound up loving it after a few hours of play. Realizing how enjoyable it is, I'm all the more glad I didn't deprive those kids of the experience.
Don't give up! There's lots of scripts for lots of games that you will miss out on if you do! If you are using the Widcomm stack, your Remote will still show up in your Bluetooth devices even when it's not connected. You can remove it and try adding it again. Sometimes there are problems when you connect a Remote that isn't the one you first set up. But even that is fixable.
If I recall correctly, my script turns on an LED (and changes to another LED if you hold the Remote in the other hand), so if the script is working (at least for output), an LED should be on when it's running.
If you hit a button and the LEDs flash (and you're not running a script that tells it to do that), that means your Remote is not connected to your computer. If you hold the 1 and 2 buttons and the LEDs start flashing, that also means it's not connected and it's making itself "visible" for other devices to connect to it.
You're troubleshooting to see if your Wii Remote is actually connected and will work with GlovePIE. One of the random bugs of GlovePIE is that it will output (transmit sound, turn on rumble, or control the LEDs), but not respond to input (motion control or button presses. Running the Wiibrator script will let you know if input and output is working in GlovePIE.
Because no one had played Frets on Fire (or any other Guitar Hero clone) with a Wiimote and Nunchuk before me. And if they had, they didn't bother to put it on YouTube.
ok.. this really makes me mad... because I made a glove pie script for my GH3 Guitar for FOF and I go in and i can set all the buttons with the guitar, but as soon as i try to play it the guitar stops working... Can anyone help? And very nice job with this!

If I recall correctly, my script turns on an LED (and changes to another LED if you hold the Remote in the other hand), so if the script is working (at least for output), an LED should be on when it's running.

randomvideomaker1 4 years ago
If you hit a button and the LEDs flash (and you're not running a script that tells it to do that), that means your Remote is not connected to your computer. randomvideomaker1 4 years ago
ok. still nothing happened. and its supposed to make the wiimote vibrate not have anything to do with frets on fire
randomvideomaker1 4 years ago
You're troubleshooting to see if your Wii Remote is actually connected and will work with GlovePIE. One of the random bugs of GlovePIE is that it will output (transmit sound, turn on rumble, or control the LEDs), but not respond to input (motion control or button presses. Running the Wiibrator script will let you know if input and output is working in GlovePIE.
irontiger 4 years ago
oh ok. well still nothing happend. thanks for all your help so far.
randomvideomaker1 4 years ago
ok i downloaded the script and extracted it that thing. now what? i have frets on fire 5. something already installed. and wiimotes connected.

randomvideomaker1 4 years ago

randomvideomaker1 4 years ago
No, I mean try testing another script to see if it works. The "Wiibrator" script is a good troubleshooter for basic input/output issues.
irontiger 4 years ago
ok ill try that. should i just google wiibrator?
randomvideomaker1 4 years ago
Yeah, or it might be in the sample scripts that came with GlovePIE.
