I tried to get a friend of mine who is a member of a new, but solid church here to check you out; hoping it might help with your missions work, but he kind of let it drop. I'll keep trying. i asked because im thinking of mastering clinching techniques, here in the west they focus alot more on the punches and kicks but in thailand you have some elite clinch fighters, was wondering if you know any camps which are renowned for training clinchers?

Most of the Thailand Champs are masters in the Clinch because in Thailand it is one of the main ways to win. In the West this is the last technique to master because to learn it you have to CLINCH with many THAI fighters and you can not learn this very well at a seminar. ;-)

In South Thailand we have a few really good Boxers, one is called Mr. KO and he tries to KO by punch but if he does not ... he gets KO's by knee. What weapon would you use?? A PADDED hand or a Bone from a Knee or Elbow??

A bunch of non-Thais train out of Fairtex and other Thai gyms now - living and training with the Thai fighters. Many are getting good. Yeah it's Mexican fighter vs. Thai fighter - but in the end they're both Thai-trained Muay Thai fighters and they both represent Muay Thai. We are happy to share the art with the world and it's great that non-Thai fighters are doing better and better. In the end, it's about respect and representing the art as true sportsmen.

NO, Kick Boxing is only Kicks & Boxing. Muay Thai includes leg kicks, knees, elbows and clinching & throws. ;-)

i have done Muay thai since i was 4 in Thailand. Born and breed in thailand and still doing muay thai. 1 day a fight broke out with a muay thai fighter and a gangsta. And guess who survived? Muay thai is a sport not a weapon that kills. So remember that Muay thai or any other self defence cannot defeat weapons. it dont have to be just a single bullet gun it can be a machine gun that sprays bullets.

Just another tourist spectacle to lure in the farang to feel like they are tony ja. Real Muay Thai is trained from age 12 and up, and is a hard life. not something you do on holiday for some wealthy farang tourist in order to be tough on camera , pay for a dvd copy, and show their friends. yes i agree i was living in thailand for a while watching about 30 fights a week. i had a thai friend who was teaching me about muay thai and the way they score and look at things if they show they are huffing and puffing in the 5th round that person will normally lose also a good tip is to wear a see tru mouth guard because when you tired they can not see a bright blue mouth guard .

In Real Muay Thai if you turn your back to your opponent then you are going to get attacked. So the rule is do not turn your back to your fighter because you probably will get hit before the ref stops it.

The more I am in Thailand the more I see who different the other side of the world thinks. Thailand thinks with their HEART and in the West/ America we think with our HEAD. They care about the Heart of things, how someone pushes themselves from the heart and did they expand their heart in fighting. The one who shows the greatest heart wins in Mauy Thai and it really is not based on points even though score cards are turned in. :)
