  • Jesus, does this nemesisrogue dork have to comment about how hard he sucks Tipton's cock on every one of your clips?

Here's a thought...instead of pissing on KK when you praise Glenn and how much you love him, maybe just expound upon your unbridled love and devotion to Glenn, and leave the misguided KK-bashing out of it. Will make you seem like less of a twat......that, and the fact that your own playing sounds more like a cut-rate KK Downing than Glenn Tipton....doh!!!

  • I like more KK but Glenn's damn good too

  • what album is this song from, when was the song/album released?

  • @beanielandschool its from the turbo album(1986)

  • yea but the solo on jawbreaker was just godlike

  • they need to strip this album and 'Ram It Down' as well- like they did with the Beatles 'Let It Be-Naked'- and I'd buy them again

  • i think KK and Glenn are equally great guitarists. the have differnt kinds of playing. glenns more melodic and KK uses more whammy. they r both guitar legends .

  • i wish i had the 12" single of this song thats in the background, it has what is in my opinion the best version of desert plains(i think thats whats on there)

  • Just that really. Glenn produces magic on a constant basis. Not just "good" but magic. As you'll know, his solos are well revered around the guitar/metal world as legendary.

Most other guitarists are nowhere near. The longer his solos, the more epic they are.

KK, and I mean no disrespect, is just an average guitarist. He has the odd moment of niceness but nothing of the class or consistency of Glenn. And often he is literally "blown away" - in the same song (One Shot, Realms, Painkiller).

  • yeah he made all of the early solos and then they saw what glenn could do

  • i also personally like Glenn better bur KK is definitly no average guitarist. He can definitly shred, maybe not as fast as Glenn but he can shred, and his whammy bar skills are just amazing. Check out his solo on victim of changes, and the strength of KK and Glenn come from combining there sound,

  • But remember, shredding doesn't equal talent. A couple of solos apart, KK is largely forgettable.

Whammy bar skills? You mean wanging the bar as hard as he can? He's no EVH or Vai with the tremelo.

It's no bad thing to be average. That's the norm. The typical. And KK has average technical abilities for a rock guitarist and average composition skills.

IMO, the truly great stand out. And Glenn is one of them. KK is just average. Like most .

  • As usual, Glenn Tipton shows his undoubted class and blows away all comers. KK included.

This, Electric Eye, Touch of Evil, Heavy Metal, Reckless, Painkiller, Beyond the Realms of Death - the list is endless.

  • What do you exactly mean? That he blows away KK too? Well I think Glenn has really great melodic solos. But KK's pretty good to me too.

  • Even when they don't duel, but take a song each, KK is "blown away". He's ok, don't get me wrong. And he's competent. But no more so than any other semi decent guitarist.

No one raves about his solos and in all my time as a guitarist no one has ever begged for transcripts, unlike they do for Glenn's masterpieces.

So yeah, he can be ok (but way too much R2D2 for my liking) and he's good on Cold, Ram It Down, Hammer & Anvil, Ram it Down but Glenn really is something special.

  • Hey, don't forget KKs solo on Between The Hammer And The Anvil!!! That is just awesome. He even outdo Glenns solo ending!!

  • Credit where it's due, KKs solo on that song is better than Glenn's. Maybe Glenn was giving him a chance ;)

  • are u kiding ? do u forget the solo in jaw breaker? beautiful , also in eat me alive or hard rock hard free in my opinion are better than tipton ones , he also did riffs like painkiller , which is considered one of the best of the priest . if werent for kk , judas priest was a mirage . trust me !

  • @nemesisrogue well, usually, but there's no better Priest solo than KK's part in One Shot At Glory :) Hail!
