see, george is a nice guy, hes just getting sloppier and lazier with his films because they're so easily bankable. if he had some people to help him filter out the inconsistancies and plot holes in the prequals, they would have been much better
I actually wonder if anyone bothered to preserve the original copy of this. If not, zoidzilla1967, you may get a call from some movie producers in the future if a period film is set in 1999 and they need this on a TV screen in the background. I can't believe big breakfast got Lucas!
I loved the original trilogy as a kid in a big way, I didn't like the prequels at all but all the kids in the audience loved them so I guess there's something there but I think the prequels have dated now more so than the original trilogy the special effects were the beginning of the whole cgi thing and now they just look terrible.
George Lucas is a good dude without him we wouldn't have that universe.
@musicforindies I grew up with the originals myself and I still liked the prequels. the first one was the worst but I think by the time of revenge of the sith, george learned from his mistakes (partially)
5:23 - that's the first time I EVER saw George Lucas get in any way animated. Usually he's completely emotionless and monotone; much like the characters in the prequels.
George Lucas is AWESOME! star wars is his greatest creation and it will never die for as long as there are fans, my fav film of his is Attack of the Clones (mostly because it's the first star wars movie i saw in theatres and only one till THE CLONE WARS came out :D though that's a Dave Filoni film but still a great SW) i hope to meet him someday and Indiana Jones IV is awesome too.
@TRE1275 im 15, and you seem to have forgot this is a FREE Countray. you have the right to hate and i have the right to like. the only movie i liked and realized it was bad was.. (my option) dark knight.
@TRE1275 yeah tell that to rotten tomatoes who gave it a 67 percent approval rating. true that is barely more than half but the worst movie ever made would have an approval rating that would be barely more than zero.
@cillablackslingback the prequels. weill I personally liked them. n my opinion they had just as good or bad a story as the originals though done differently. plus I was pleased to have some of the questions I had answered. some of those questions would be "where did darth vader come from?" "who is luke's mother?" and "why were Luke and Leia separated?" though there were a few things I didn't like about them but I let them slide.
@Arthus850 Everyone is entitled to their opinion. My thoughts were that the movies were void of emotion and felt sterile. I didn't empathise with any of the main characters and the dialogue was unbelievably dull. If you are happy that it ticked fan boxes that's fair enough but I wanted to see an original movie with likeable characters and an engaging storyline. Instead I got the painful stitching together of a franchise, solely to sell lunch boxes and video games.
@cillablackslingback like the medichlorients since they took everything spiritual in the force and shoved them out the window, but I lit it slide by simply saying "they had to think of something", I didn't like jarjar but I thought the ewoks were worse, and I also didn't like jake loyd, and that is the only problem I find inexcusible
Why is Lucasfilm so snobby about releasing their movies(SW, Indy) on the latest video format? They're only hurting themselves. I still remember all the bootleg DVDs on Ebay.
@RDarth they want to make damn sure everyone already bought the regular and special editions on dvd and vhs, before theyll sell them to you on bluray.
I remember a Ray Park (Darth Maul) interview along with the fight scene choreographer was funny, they ended up dossing about and fighting in the garden with cheapo toy lightsabers.
I actually watched this before college each morning. They had a total star wars themed week interviewing different cast members etc etc leading up to the UK release of Phantom Menace. Funny tv to watch, they found unusual ways to ask the same old questions!
TPM was somewhat better than AOTC...why? Hayden wasn't in it! I actually PREFER Jake to Hayden because Jake didn't whine. ugh. want to talk about a joke? It was casting Hayden as Anakin.

He couldn't remember Robert Redford's name? They both did their best work in roughly the same cinematic period! They shared the same friends!
