  • see, george is a nice guy, hes just getting sloppier and lazier with his films because they're so easily bankable. if he had some people to help him filter out the inconsistancies and plot holes in the prequals, they would have been much better

  • He couldn't remember Robert Redford's name? They both did their best work in roughly the same cinematic period! They shared the same friends!

  • I actually wonder if anyone bothered to preserve the original copy of this. If not, zoidzilla1967, you may get a call from some movie producers in the future if a period film is set in 1999 and they need this on a TV screen in the background. I can't believe big breakfast got Lucas!

  • "You've probably only heard of it if you're a real film muff!"

  • No. You aren't 'entitled' to an opinion in this regard. If you actually liked the prequels you are a fucking moron.

  • He had a neck back then

  • ahaha, george lucas in love. I remember seeing that when I was so young...

  • Ahh, this is from when everyone (including myself) thought Lucas was a genius, then the PT actually came out and reality dawned...

  • I loved the original trilogy as a kid in a big way, I didn't like the prequels at all but all the kids in the audience loved them so I guess there's something there but I think the prequels have dated now more so than the original trilogy the special effects were the beginning of the whole cgi thing and now they just look terrible.

George Lucas is a good dude without him we wouldn't have that universe.

  • @musicforindies I grew up with the originals myself and I still liked the prequels. the first one was the worst but I think by the time of revenge of the sith, george learned from his mistakes (partially)

  • George Lucas IS a big breakfast!

  • im a real film muff!

  • 5:23 - that's the first time I EVER saw George Lucas get in any way animated. Usually he's completely emotionless and monotone; much like the characters in the prequels.

  • Weird how he released the original triology on DVD before Episode III was out.

It's interesting to go back and see these interviews from ten years ogo.

  • Haha, he nearly asked if we were all huge film muffs at 0:09!

  • George Lucas is AWESOME! star wars is his greatest creation and it will never die for as long as there are fans, my fav film of his is Attack of the Clones (mostly because it's the first star wars movie i saw in theatres and only one till THE CLONE WARS came out :D though that's a Dave Filoni film but still a great SW) i hope to meet him someday and Indiana Jones IV is awesome too.

  • @LDtheBrachio Hopefully when you get older you'll realize Attack of the Clones is one of the worst movies ever made.

  • @TRE1275 im 15, and you seem to have forgot this is a FREE Countray. you have the right to hate and i have the right to like. the only movie i liked and realized it was bad was.. (my option) dark knight.

  • @LDtheBrachio in what way was dark knight bad? other than that I agree with you

  • @TRE1275 y was it the worst movie ever made?

  • @TRE1275 yeah tell that to rotten tomatoes who gave it a 67 percent approval rating. true that is barely more than half but the worst movie ever made would have an approval rating that would be barely more than zero.

  • @Arthus850 67 is more than barely more than half. 51 is barely more than half.

  • @RReviews true but I'm sure he understood what I meant

  • Hes not even human. *Raises eyebriows*

  • lol the little kid, when to shake George Lucas's hand, but got rejected..

  • @D1aMonDzz ahaha aww harsh =D

  • I'm still pissed off about the new trilogy, so wrong in so many ways.

  • @cillablackslingback do you mean the prequels or the restored originals?

  • @Arthus850 Take a wild guess

  • @cillablackslingback the prequels. weill I personally liked them. n my opinion they had just as good or bad a story as the originals though done differently. plus I was pleased to have some of the questions I had answered. some of those questions would be "where did darth vader come from?" "who is luke's mother?" and "why were Luke and Leia separated?" though there were a few things I didn't like about them but I let them slide.

  • @Arthus850 Everyone is entitled to their opinion. My thoughts were that the movies were void of emotion and felt sterile. I didn't empathise with any of the main characters and the dialogue was unbelievably dull. If you are happy that it ticked fan boxes that's fair enough but I wanted to see an original movie with likeable characters and an engaging storyline. Instead I got the painful stitching together of a franchise, solely to sell lunch boxes and video games.

  • @cillablackslingback like the medichlorients since they took everything spiritual in the force and shoved them out the window, but I lit it slide by simply saying "they had to think of something", I didn't like jarjar but I thought the ewoks were worse, and I also didn't like jake loyd, and that is the only problem I find inexcusible

  • LOL that not real!

  • Wait, did he say Anakin was his favorite character, and then amend it by saying 'Luke'? George and I have the same favorite characters!

  • How the hell did the big breakfast get George Lucas?

  • @krayte Dollar on a fishing line.

  • 3:34 Lucas, I'M STILL WAITING FOR THAT 6 MOVIE SET!!! >:(

  • I like how he jokes he's not human, there are tons of UFO junkies that actually believe this! woooo eeeeeee woooooo eeeee!!!!

  • He signed 3 things for on that day outside. I eBayed 2 of the things 2yrs later. I still have the 10x8 photo (",)

  • Why is Lucasfilm so snobby about releasing their movies(SW, Indy) on the latest video format? They're only hurting themselves. I still remember all the bootleg DVDs on Ebay.

  • @RDarth they want to make damn sure everyone already bought the regular and special editions on dvd and vhs, before theyll sell them to you on bluray.

  • "they use the erm.. internet" :D

  • Fun interview.

  • JEDI Y, hahahahahahahaha

  • when did this happen?

  • greetings to Jake Lloyd. you should be glad that you are on TV when you were so small and now it is not all that can =-)

  • George is a very Likable guy. Loved this interview.

  • and then we had phantom menace.......

  • 1:55

    YES, HE DOES!!!

  • Laughing at your own puns, huh?

  • Who is laughing at his own pun?

  • Well that's your opinion!!! I liked the new Indiana Jones movie and Star Wars 3 was pretty good, so chill out!

  • "Well that's your opinion!!! "

Erm... that's why he said it.

  • The should put the shoes in the refrigorator!

  • @Chosenviper It's not opinion, it's fact. The prequels were directionless, had terrible scripts and were full of stupid CGI bullshit. Fact.

  • @R0undAboutMidnight yes and your point?

  • @Chosenviper Um, my point(s) can be found in my last comment. OK?

  • @R0undAboutMidnight well my point and fact both go further from what anyone else may think.

  • Calling someone a fag for making millions of dollars by making the film he wants to make is pretty gay.

  • George Lucas is not a horrible guy. I just think he could have paid more attention to his source material....and enough said.

  • I remember a Ray Park (Darth Maul) interview along with the fight scene choreographer was funny, they ended up dossing about and fighting in the garden with cheapo toy lightsabers.

  • I actually watched this before college each morning. They had a total star wars themed week interviewing different cast members etc etc leading up to the UK release of Phantom Menace. Funny tv to watch, they found unusual ways to ask the same old questions!

  • min. 4:28 "You lookin at me ?"

Its "You tawkin ta me ? You TAWKIN ta me? I aint seen nobody else around"

    Insufferable brit this dude is.

  • If I had just 7 minutes to talk to George Lucas I wouldn't be talking to him about warts.

  • yh same here

  • "I'm not even human" HA, he finally admitted it!

  • "is there something AMISH about this SOLO flying CARPENTER?"

    LOL that's so funny.

  • Yeah, same here! Man, a six DVD box set would be AWESOME! And I'm still waiting for the Blu-Ray release too.

  • TPM was somewhat better than AOTC...why? Hayden wasn't in it! I actually PREFER Jake to Hayden because Jake didn't whine. ugh. want to talk about a joke? It was casting Hayden as Anakin.

  • I remember when this aired at the time. I'm still waiting for that box set, George!

  • HOW THE HELL DID THIS GUY GET Lucas ON THIS SHOW!

  • I think there will be 6-set dvd sometime in the future. Maybe for the 35th anniversary of Star Wars in 2012

  • lol, I never saw this. First time I saw George Lucas actually acting funny. Good to know he has a sense of humor.

  • Of course he's got a sense of humor. Did you see The Phantom Menace? What a joke!

  • LOL!!!

  • who do you think was the worst actor in that film?!! just wondering your opinion.
