idk y im posting a comment here in 2011 hh but this movie makes me a good memories when i was noob surfer, than i watch this and learn this map, now i have to say i learn from you kaffee and rK the most and now i'm surfing really good and tnx to this video i can do perfect run on this map everytime i want :D

omg old surfing memories that was amazing to watch this again, i have to say i'm missing Xtreme-Surfs in 2007-2008, now im enter this server everyday :)

back in my day developer 1 was the ultimate shame

with the use of airaccelerate 100 people discovered the use of developer, long before you even knew what cs surf was about, fatmike whored tricks with 200fps on egypt, he was known as the greatest surfer on earth. around winter 05 the use of 131 fps became a unwritten rule, to kinda stop the fps-abusing. if the use of 131 fps was a shame to you guys, you were never rly part of the major surf scene and propably not around that long. neither in the beginning of surf, nore today 100fps were normal

fatmike was not considered the best surfer in the world.. and 131 fps didn't become popular at 05.. i was surfing before 05 and i stopped at around 07 and the standard was 100fps and anything done with anything more was considered cheating. developer 0 was and should remain the standard, but it's not. THATS the problem and that's what's pathetic about the surfing community these days

btw, i dont think anyone in 05-07 would've been able to do just level 1 with developer 0. check out the best 07er movies and compare it to the skill you would need for this map + 100fps. it's almost like doing surf_fatmike with developer 0, a bit unrelalistic. ofc nowadays ppl are able to even finish the map using dev 0 but since the last 2 years the scene changed alot. maybe cyclone would've been able to make it back than, but none of the normal surfers

Wow when I first saw this vid a few months ago I didnt think I'd EVER finish this map . But now much thanks to rK for providing inspiration and a visual of how it should be done , in conjunction with learning about fps_max 131 and developer 1 I just finished this map not 1 miniute ago :D I admit I had to use checkpoints and climb the rocks on lvl 5 , but still . started surfing in 2007, the demos where made on first day when catacomb came out. needed 30 min for demos and actually they are really sucky, didnt know they will be used in a movie when I was recording them

you can "cheat" at this map big time.. just take speed on the big ramps at last levels..u get always faster with smooth surfing and air strafing on the ramp, then just fly to next ramp ^^
