Mostly all of the ABBA songs sound better by them rather than in Mamma Mia.. But they did A good job.... The Winner takes it all performed my Meryl Streep was good though.... :0
"Mamma Mia", the play and the motion picture, was delightful in every way. However, there's no version better than the original by this amazing, talented Swedish pop group, ABBA. In my humble opinion, this is their best song (among many great songs).
I believe this is the perfect pop song, and totally defines the disco era. People can laugh all they want at ABBA, but who really comes up with as many catchy songs as they do?
I'll admit that I've been hearing this song a lot and thought it was about drag queens, was too scared to look it up. Anyway - I love this song!! The lady with the brown hair is so much fun to watch. She really has great moves. I just have to say - FUN VIDEO and thanks so much!
i remember dancing to this song in the clubs in 1976 like it was yesterday . oh where has the time gone ?pat52007 thanks for ur service. i was a corpsman and operating room tech during viet nam.now a va rep.
i likes the way Frida moves and her expressions evoke me to smile she give her heart to the camera-Agnetha has fun but has an internal defence-against the face of an improbable unknown-but she's flashy! the guys just play the musice benny wobles his head like a beatle quite lively-Bjorn plays the guitar and smiles as though his audience is welcome-and we enjoy it-the classics will always be there! The Euro Sound as it was...those were great days...now I'm old and can only remenisce about the old days...But by God they Were great days...hope heaven is like this!!
My goodness does music suck nowadays, this is good stuff. I never got into R&B and hip hop, and that's all that plays. Music is supposed to put you into a feel good mood.
What amazes me is how the two women harmonized so naturally, one being a soprano, and the other a mezzosoprano, the beauty of these two fronts is both their looks and even more so, the sound.
I don't think frida (anna-frid) was under rated. I think that without frida there is no abba. She gave a great deal to abba. On a par to what agnetha contributed to abba. Each made the group what it was. The second most popular band in the world after the beatles. Proof is there popularity 27 years after they disbanded. Everybody has their favourite. I do prefer agnetha though. There's just something about blondes.
I know there is no lead singer of the group. They each played equal part's. I always prefered agnetha. (There's just something about her). I was just having a go at the agnetha vs frida comments here on youtube. Take it easy! It was just a joke!
I admitted it! I LOVED ABBA since I heard Waterloo in 1974! After that, I bought everything that had their name on it! And I still have everything I bought...I'm such a packrat!
i was lucky enough to be in the army ( u.s.) from 1978-1981 in germany the entire time except for 1 month leave ) but the disco days were really killer in europe then,
Truly wonderful music. Music is supposed to lift up the spirit, not bury you in malicious thoughts and actions. Of course, everybody has their groove but come on people, open up your minds and listen to Abba, Harrison, Orbison and Dylan.
I love both of the girls equally, but in this song I always think of Frida, who made the dancing queen sound, mysterious, adventurous and slightly dangerous with her deep phenomal voice.
LOL. . . my cousin and i (we're only in our young teens) decided to have a kareoke night and we played this song. we couldn't stop laughing. sooo funny
When i was little, my dad would play abba in the car. I thank him for it, becuase now im a huge abba fan, i know all of their songs. Abba is so inspiring, since they have a mixed gender group<3
Once; 1976, I hear this song first time in the radio , i was a tvelve year old boy, and think , that this is so great... thís song was dedicated to the queen of Sweden , she was a german girl in Olympia 1972 in munich... Sylvia Sommerlath was her name i think..
I'm 20 years old, and just recently discovered ABBA. The band and this song is the best ever, and I am wondering why I haven't discovered them sooner!
In primary school one of our dancing teachers retired and they had a assembly thing for her it was repeated that whole week and everyone had it stuck in there heads. ABBA forever!
You know, I was ready to disagree with you, but I can't think of another better pop song. There maybe songs that stand on top of the mountain with "Dancing Queen" but nothing can top it.
This song is timeless, I love being out on a Saturday night, at a club, they have been playing all the new dance hits and all of sudden this song comes on, it just a special feeling
good choice, even though you are only 12, this is a great song and your father did a good job by digging out the old records and making you a big fan, a big fan of one of the best bands of all time.
