@kevinm1981 BMW or Mercedes makes some of the best small displacement V motors in the world. Also Ford's 5.4L V8 used in the GT500, as well as the LS series of motors. In fact the LS series of motors is the most widely used motor applications in the world. 9.18 is impressive for an all motor 4 cylinder, however I can show you plenty of all motor SMALL BLOCK v8's that run low 7's through low 8's. Big blocks are a different story. Nice attempt Honda, but not quite good enough.

K20A is small engine, comparing to LS3 (displacement term). K20A coming with all forged internals, including crank made from much higher quality steel than in almost any LS engine except LS7 and LS9. K20A can withstand 400 hp without changing any part of engine except ECU fuel maps and bigger injectors.
For 10,000$ you can buy whole tuned racing engine from Mugen and still producing more power than POS LT4 or weak LS1 = weak bottom end, and cast nodular crank)

no the rsx type s is a 4.765 final as revised in 2005 a 5.13 is an upgraded after market final drive diff dont believe me wiki it i built 3 rsx type s and a k24 with vtec head i know all there is to know about any honda lol trust me yes a type r is a 4.78

b series came with 4.26 for non vtecs even though the si claimed to have a 4.26 it still had a 4.40 like all the other vtecs only the type r had the 4.78 there were no factory 4.9's either trust me!! i have built all kinds of streetable and drag worthy honda's i own 3 now all are 11 seconds and faster on pump gas no turbo no nos my slowest runs an 11.8 my fastest runs a 10.1 on all motor all b series swapped one is an 82 civic one is a 88 crx si and i got a 94 eg hatch thats about to get boosted

@6898628 Super stock hemis can put down mid 8's now (N/A 426 hemis with high valve lift, cnc ported heads a big 4 barrel / big "dual-quad" carb setup and stickey tires putting down 800-900 tq/hp in much heavier vehicles than the honda in this video). There's plenty of street-driven muscle cars putting down that kind of power nowadays, both classic and late model, which is the cool thing about it.
you can get them in the 10's with weight reduction and a couple other mods like cams, intake manifold, pullies, etc. weight is the key. and a 12 second civic with a bolt on k24 is indeed a v8 killer on the streets. if you run 12's in your g8 and a civic runs 12's, it will beat you from a roll. unless it used slicks to achieve that time. fwd is horrible for launching and whatnot. kinda like my friends tvs cobalt would rape 12 second camaros from a roll when his fastest time was a 13.2

K20 230 whp in a crx with good driver can run high 11's. And your boy in the em2 sucks at driving if he only can run high 13's with 230 whp. I have an rsx with 213whp full interior and I run high 13's.
@krzydc5 yea man but your not talking about the cost and man hours involved. k20 swap in a crx is going to run you about $10k plus the cost of the car. plus the fab work and swapping the entire wire harness which is beyond what most people can do in their garage. and all that for a stock motor. add another 10k for engine build and drive train parts and misc. its cool to see shop cars doing this but 24k plus labor realistically is a couple year project.

@kevinm1981 BMW or Mercedes makes some of the best small displacement V motors in the world. Also Ford's 5.4L V8 used in the GT500, as well as the LS series of motors. In fact the LS series of motors is the most widely used motor applications in the world. 9.18 is impressive for an all motor 4 cylinder, however I can show you plenty of all motor SMALL BLOCK v8's that run low 7's through low 8's. Big blocks are a different story. Nice attempt Honda, but not quite good enough.

That's why to gain only 2 seconds from a 9 second E.T. to a 7 second E.T. it takes so much more power. If you were to show it graphically, you would see a great increase in the curve of power to E.T. ratio.

This is getting crazy. When the say all motor. It means... they striped the motor apart, removed ever stock part. Put racing mods back in leaving it N/A and SUPER HIGH! compression and rave fuel. So it is NOT STOCK! its a modded motor with out NO2 with out Forced Induction. You can not swap the same STOCK motor in to your honda and get the same results with out spending less then $10,000 in parts alone. as for 6.2 v8's vs k20 stock for stock....depends on LBS!!!!

Honda's engines are for light cars. If you wanna go fast, add lightness, since the acceleration is one of the most important things in drag (Power to weight ratio).

K20A is small engine, comparing to LS3 (displacement term). K20A coming with all forged internals, including crank made from much higher quality steel than in almost any LS engine except LS7 and LS9. K20A can withstand 400 hp without changing any part of engine except ECU fuel maps and bigger injectors.
For 10,000$ you can buy whole tuned racing engine from Mugen and still producing more power than POS LT4 or weak LS1 = weak bottom end, and cast nodular crank)

He aint got open exaugst or slicks nd even tho it aint as light as a bubble id have to see sum sort of proof to beleive that sum1 can go a whole 2 seconds faster without touchin the motor. Pretty sure that aint possible with stock 1.8 liter K20 ud have to build up the bottom end making it like a 2.4liter.

b series came with 4.26 for non vtecs even though the si claimed to have a 4.26 it still had a 4.40 like all the other vtecs only the type r had the 4.78 there were no factory 4.9's either trust me!! i have built all kinds of streetable and drag worthy honda's i own 3 now all are 11 seconds and faster on pump gas no turbo no nos my slowest runs an 11.8 my fastest runs a 10.1 on all motor all b series swapped one is an 82 civic one is a 88 crx si and i got a 94 eg hatch thats about to get boosted

@civicallmotor actually, the 02-04 RSX-S has a 4.389 final drive and the 05-06 RSX-S has a 4.764 final drive. the only K-series transmission with a 5.062 FD would be the 07+ Civic Type-R and the 02-06 JDM CRV. the rest of the K-series have a 4.764 FD, besides the 02-07 Accord and the 08+ Accord, and the Base model RSX with a 4.389

@6898628 Super stock hemis can put down mid 8's now (N/A 426 hemis with high valve lift, cnc ported heads a big 4 barrel / big "dual-quad" carb setup and stickey tires putting down 800-900 tq/hp in much heavier vehicles than the honda in this video). There's plenty of street-driven muscle cars putting down that kind of power nowadays, both classic and late model, which is the cool thing about it.

yes. theres a k24 ep3 in my area that runs high 12's. stock engine with intake, headers, exhaust. no tune.

you can get them in the 10's with weight reduction and a couple other mods like cams, intake manifold, pullies, etc. weight is the key. and a 12 second civic with a bolt on k24 is indeed a v8 killer on the streets. if you run 12's in your g8 and a civic runs 12's, it will beat you from a roll. unless it used slicks to achieve that time. fwd is horrible for launching and whatnot. kinda like my friends tvs cobalt would rape 12 second camaros from a roll when his fastest time was a 13.2

i had a stock k24 with a k20 type s head runnin high 12s/low 13s on street tires lol on slicks i almost got 10.99 with a 40 shot

@VinnyTime Wow someone doesnt know their shit. They run low 15's high 14's bone stock in the stock chassis RSX/Civic Si. With a few mods they can get into high 13's naturally aspirated. From there into a CR-X , yeah id say 11's....

@VinnyTime Not at this current point and time and given your above posts...none what so ever. Cars are built with their powerplants and chassis in mind. The k20 makes waaaayyyyy more power with what it has in displacement. Theres few motors that make more power per liter than a Honda's and thats when your spending good dollar. Keep in mind the k20 is also about 10 years old. Just wait for the new ones.

@VinnyTime id have to agree k20 WITH built top end only like 230HP which aint doin 11s in a crx with no floor nd a midget driving it. shit, i doubt a stock rsx would even get lower than mid 15's. k motors gatta get buffed up then they rele start to shine, but the honda in this vid couldnt have spent less than 18000 just the motor, unless u plan on winnin your money back u better off goin with a super charger nd then spend the rest of ur $ on the motor.

@jayoheeyah what are you smoking? stock rsx-s runs high 14's.. with I/HE/ K-pro, rsx-s runs easy high 13's. bone stock K20A 220hp from japan in a EG hatch runs high 12's, just watch Top Setup on youtube. not to mention crx's are lighter then EG hatch's. K20 230 whp in a crx with good driver can run high 11's. And your boy in the em2 sucks at driving if he only can run high 13's with 230 whp. I have an rsx with 213whp full interior and I run high 13's.

@krzydc5 yea man but your not talking about the cost and man hours involved. k20 swap in a crx is going to run you about $10k plus the cost of the car. plus the fab work and swapping the entire wire harness which is beyond what most people can do in their garage. and all that for a stock motor. add another 10k for engine build and drive train parts and misc. its cool to see shop cars doing this but 24k plus labor realistically is a couple year project.

@krzydc5 beside the fact that 24k into a fox body or ls1 will rape pretty hard as well. its just not a very realistic car. then its fwd so proper suspension set up is needed and slicks so wide you cant street the car anymore. and its going to take a damn good driver. need to look at both sides man

what v8 dude? because I have raced k20's accoreds and crx and I haven't lost in my g8 gxp. ...on the track. they hit 14.5 - 16.5 in the QM bone stock k20... if your racing a small displacement v8 then sure why not

@lotus240s that's a K24 running on alcool with 16:1 compression ratio, at this point the compression ratio if fairly close to a diesel so having a force induction would mean kicking super high boost in it which would make this car even faster...sorry this really is all motor
