Water expands when it freezes, there's not as much water in the arctic as you think, and also keep in mind that most of the ice in the arctic is underwater, ever hear of tip of the iceburge? That means most of the ice's volume is underwater, so if it melts the thawed ice won't displace the water as much; it will probably balance out and be the same.
But even if it dosn't, some places near the coast might get messed up, oh well things change. I would want to stop it but America has done enough

When you warm something it expands. There is a place in russia or someother place like that where the power lines are nearly touching the ground in summer and fully tort in winter due to the change in temperature. if you heat up a bowl of water you probably wont knotice a difference, but when you heat up something as colossal as the oceans you are going to know about it.

Heat rises, and with the mass of the oceans being as deep as they are you would need to be pumping near boiling water onto the ocean floor @ it's deepest points. Otherwise the warmer waters running in just stay near the top.

And there was a huge ice storm in tennessee, I think it was, back in March or February which doesn't make any sense either.

Agree, water dose expand when warmed. But, NOWHERE near that of water dispalced by ice. Thats why even at a boil in your teapot you dont notice it. Yet if I dump a bunch of ice in that same teapot it will overflow. The oceans are far to massive for reaching those temps. Heat rises, and with the mass of the oceans being as deep as they are you would need to be pumping near boiling water onto the ocean floor @ it's deepest points. Otherwise the warmer waters running in just stay near the top.

This is caused by the Greenhouse effect. Although this effect is natural and we need it to survive (or else the temperature would be very very low), human emissions are increasing this effect.
Well, if this effect increases, stuff like this happens. And it gets worse and worse.
So wake up, people. Stop saying it's cyclic, or that this will cause global cooling (you don't even begin to realize the implicatios this has!).

What I find very funny here, that everyone is worried about Global Warming, while it will cause global cooling. Yes it true, as more and more freash water is released into the oceans. our currents, will be either interupted, or push farther south. Whether or not global warming is true or not, the Climate Bill passed by the U.S. Congress is downright ludicrous. One of the laws introduced is that people who want to sell their homes must make the windows eco-friendly first, placing a strain on low-income families (which there are a lot of in this economic crisis).
The end does not necessarily justify the means.

Something I don't understand about the "Global Warming" thing is that it's actually colder this summer than usual. It's usually around 90-100 degrees farenheit but typically now its around 70-80. And there was a huge ice storm in tennessee, I think it was, back in March or February which doesn't make any sense either.

Co2 rises after temperature rises, it's not the other way around. Termites produce more Co2 than Humans do.
The earth goes into phases, we don't need to save glaciers which come and go with changing earth climates. Actually, warm periods on the earth are times of plenty, life thrives in these periods.

Human activity not only produces CO2 directly, it destroyed sinks for CO2.
I am not worried about the planet, it gets along just fine. The problem is that our modern society is dependant on conditions as they exist now, and we are screwing with those conditions.
CO2 typically peaks between 280 to 300 ppm, and we are now at 380 and climbing rapidly.

Human activity, both in CO2 production and sink destruction has increased CO2 from previous peaks by 30%.
The relationship between CO2 and temperature is one of positive feedback, increase temp increases CO2, which in turn increases temp....and so on.
Part of this cycle is natural, but we are clearly accelerating the process, and it is unclear how this will affect us *humans*.
If weather patterns change enough to affect food production, the result will likely be disasterous for all.
