No Hoffman does not get tested I have seen the movie also Dr.Gordon is the apprentice and Hoffman gets out the bear trap and trys to kill Jigsaws wife and eventually does in the last part. dr. gordon helped him with the traps since after he puts his leg on the hot steampipe faints jigsaw takes care of him and gives him a fake foot which in return dr gordon does the surgical things it traps like the key in the eye and the key in the ribcage the mouth being sewn shut and the eyes being sewn shut etc. I hope dr gordon or the other 2 guys that were with him in saw 7 arent crazy and this is the end of the saw series i thut they said 6 wuld be the last but it wasnt
@Wolfscar671 actually the writers claimed in an interview that that test at the end of saw6 was meant to actually kill hoffman. jigsaw wanted hoffman to die, just like hoffman does to his victims, but left that slim oppurtunity to escape
Actually, I thought of that. The goal of Dr. Gordon's game was to kill Adam by six o'clock. Adam's fate had already been sealed at the beginning of the movie, when the key to his chain fell down the bathtub drain. Adam's only hope for survival would be for Dr. Gordon to find help. But Dr. Gordon didn't, and Adam died as a result. Dr. Gordon's followed the instructions of his game
Good call. The clues were there all along. But after seeing saw 7, I'm asking myself what exactly were Dr. Gordon's motives for helping Jigsaw? And why did they cut the scene with Gordon talking to the therapist about his wife and daughter being killed in the fire that was a big part of saw 5. Is it possible that since saw 7 did better at the box office than they were anticipating, we can expect a saw 8? It would kinda cut the balls off of saw 7 which declares itself the final saw
*SPOILERS* saw 7 recently came out in theaters, october 29th, and i saw it. you are right!!! (this is after saw 1, right after it ended) it shows him cauterising his wound, and then John came and helped him. its true he was the one who put the key in micheals eye. and whenever the pig mask guy would sneak uo behind people and put them in the traps, he would be under the pig mask. in the end of saw 7, he put hoffeman in the same bathroom he almost died in, and let him rot. he said "game over"

@HarveyBishBmx Jigsaw was originally John (the old guy). He is dead. But he has had many people as accomplices. Also, the movies are happen quite close in the aspect of time. So even though John is dead, his will as jigsaw is still being carried out by others. So in a way he is still jigsaw. Though, I believe that Dr. Gordon is his true apprentice. I think that Hoffman, Amanda, and Jill are all pawns or test samples.

Dr. Gordon failed his game. He was to kill Adam. He didnt. So after escaping his trap he was probably placed in Witness Protection to protect his wife and daughter. After all if he didn't kill Adam, Zepp was supposed to kill Gordons wife and kid. Who really knows? I hope Hoffman is the last man standing and I hope Jill gets cut in half by that car blade.
bur it´s also true that not everyone who survives becomes a jigsaw apprentice, what about Simone, the SAw V´s girl (because I heard that the guy, Mallick, oficially died loosing blood); and also Daniel, he was part of Eric´s game, but the house was another game that started before.
Maybe 'Saw 3D' (yes....the title just sounds wrong!) will play around with the timeline of the story......and the ending will be a twist set years in the future.......example......one of the victims surviving children takes over the games.......or maybe one of the apprentices (Hoffman) survives, and they get revenge years on........like Jeff & Lynn's Daughter Corbett.....or Eric's Son Daniel?
My guess is that last person to who Jill went to give envelope is Jigsaw's 4th apprentice, and probably the one who got all of the medical equipment to John.
That can be anyone, maybe doctor Gordon himself, he passed Jigsaw's test, didn't he? Amanda passed his test and became his apprentice so maybe Gordon became his new apprentice as you said; we may never know.

Kramer was always good at predicting what his victims would do. Maybe he was hoping Hoffman would do that.

@jeager1999 .......Well, it appears from some pictures of 'Saw 3D', that Hoffman is the orchestrator......of at least Jill's trap. It shows Hoffman working on the go-kart style trap, with the blades at the front, which from the trailer appears to be heading strait for Jill......and the side of his face looks like a cross between Freddy Krueger and Heath Ledger's Joker!
Why everyone thinks that hoffman is not tested yet. Isn't he get the same trap as amanda and he survived without the chance of escape. I mean how much blood he can shed he broke his hand cut his cheek to survive isnt that enough.

Jill didn't give him the chanche to have a key and survive. He survived with his brain. You may be right about the studs but the bars theory makes no sense usually jigsaw don't use the things that are already there. He gives equipment himself. And Jill gonna cut in half in saw 7 what she did to hoffman leaving him to his death.
@Whereareyouroam ......yes, he ripped the jaw trap out of his mouth, because it had opened halfway, and he could not just remove it normally or it would have dislocated his jaw.....and the lock did break, or he would not have been able to remove it from his head......because that is how it works.....it's locked onto the victims head to prevent them from removing it.

@222fans101 .......Yeah.....but think about Officer Rigg (Saw 4).....he got shot by Art at the end, but we never saw him die, or his body, so it could have just been a flesh wound.......I know he was on the files as being dead......but his death could have been covered up like Agent Perez (Saw 4 & 6)........remember in Saw 4, Strahm said "he's being recruited" to Perez?......remember Rigg's tests......'see what I see' & 'feel what I feel'?

The Trap with dr. gordan u left out a big part to it... If he killed adam he wouldnt have passed his test because jigsaw said he doesnt like MURDERERS, so not killing adam made him pass and when dr. gordan promised to send help, Think about it, Amanda came and well killed Adam, knowing how amanda has disobade jigsaw before so we can conquer that that was the HELP he sent
I think when Gordon said "I'll send someone back" he sent detective Matthews and that's how he got chained up and I'm guessing in saw 7 they will show Mathews and Adam in the room. Oh and I think the black guy with the scar is still alive. That's just what I think...
@marcusnsoriano ......Eric Mathews couldn't have met Dr Gordon.....he found the clue to John's location on the head trap at the beginning of 'Saw 2', because John left it there for him to find.....he then failed his test, and it was Amanda who chained him up.......but by the 'black guy', I take it you mean Detective Tapp......well yeah, he may still be alive.....thats a valid theory.......but I can't see Danny Glover's name on the cast list for 'Saw 7'.

Gordon will definetly play a role in the last movie. So will hoffman and so will jill tuck. as this is the last movie. they can either go for the ending to get all the followers of jigsaw killed or just leave it as it is and dont make an ending. Whatever it's going to be. I'm sure it's going to be awesome just like all the other saw movies. a story line and some sweet killing. that's the way i like it =D
@RifleNL .....I suspect they will leave something open in the storyline for a 'Saw 8'.....even though they have said it's the last.....Lionsgate will want to continue the franchise if 'Saw 7' does better than 'Saw 6' at the box office (and with the news of Cary Elwes return as Dr Gordon, I am 99% sure it will.....and the 3D 'novelty' will help).......I just hope the traps are badass and the gore is back to the levels of 'Saw 3'!
@SethAnartica ......Jigsaw's wife (Jill Tuck) is not the last one left. Hoffman escaped from the jaw trap she put him in at the end of 'Saw 6',...and he will be going after her in 'Saw 7'......along with a plot revolving around the survivors of John's previous tests.
If it eventually turns out that Dr Gordon is behind it all I shall stand up in the middle of the cinema and applaud! Saw is the best franchise ever and I'm a massive Nightmare on Elm Street fan. Maybe it's the music or the green tint it's shot with but it's just not Halloween until Saw is out. If they do reveal Dr Gordon as an accomplice I think they should end it there, on a high after giving the fans what they've always wanted since it began!

I never forgot about it and always had the notion that Jigsaw was basically telling her " I've not chosen you to continue my lifes work..." but when I found out it was Hoffman who wrote the letter and why I was pleasantly suprised. I saw something was coming but it came in a way I didn't expect! See?

Whatever they pull out of the bag I'm sure it will be amazing as always. As much as the Krueger-ite in me is pained by this, Saw is my favourite franchise!

dr. gordon helped him with the traps since after he puts his leg on the hot steampipe faints jigsaw takes care of him and gives him a fake foot which in return dr gordon does the surgical things it traps like the key in the eye and the key in the ribcage the mouth being sewn shut and the eyes being sewn shut etc. I hope dr gordon or the other 2 guys that were with him in saw 7 arent crazy and this is the end of the saw series i thut they said 6 wuld be the last but it wasnt

Actually, I thought of that. The goal of Dr. Gordon's game was to kill Adam by six o'clock. Adam's fate had already been sealed at the beginning of the movie, when the key to his chain fell down the bathtub drain. Adam's only hope for survival would be for Dr. Gordon to find help. But Dr. Gordon didn't, and Adam died as a result. Dr. Gordon's followed the instructions of his game

Good call. The clues were there all along. But after seeing saw 7, I'm asking myself what exactly were Dr. Gordon's motives for helping Jigsaw? And why did they cut the scene with Gordon talking to the therapist about his wife and daughter being killed in the fire that was a big part of saw 5. Is it possible that since saw 7 did better at the box office than they were anticipating, we can expect a saw 8? It would kinda cut the balls off of saw 7 which declares itself the final saw

*SPOILERS* saw 7 recently came out in theaters, october 29th, and i saw it. you are right!!! (this is after saw 1, right after it ended) it shows him cauterising his wound, and then John came and helped him. its true he was the one who put the key in micheals eye. and whenever the pig mask guy would sneak uo behind people and put them in the traps, he would be under the pig mask. in the end of saw 7, he put hoffeman in the same bathroom he almost died in, and let him rot. he said "game over"

@HarveyBishBmx Jigsaw was originally John (the old guy). He is dead. But he has had many people as accomplices. Also, the movies are happen quite close in the aspect of time. So even though John is dead, his will as jigsaw is still being carried out by others. So in a way he is still jigsaw. Though, I believe that Dr. Gordon is his true apprentice. I think that Hoffman, Amanda, and Jill are all pawns or test samples.

Dr. Gordon failed his game. He was to kill Adam. He didnt. So after escaping his trap he was probably placed in Witness Protection to protect his wife and daughter. After all if he didn't kill Adam, Zepp was supposed to kill Gordons wife and kid. Who really knows? I hope Hoffman is the last man standing and I hope Jill gets cut in half by that car blade.

Maybe 'Saw 3D' (yes....the title just sounds wrong!) will play around with the timeline of the story......and the ending will be a twist set years in the future.......example......one of the victims surviving children takes over the games.......or maybe one of the apprentices (Hoffman) survives, and they get revenge years on........like Jeff & Lynn's Daughter Corbett.....or Eric's Son Daniel?

My guess is that last person to who Jill went to give envelope is Jigsaw's 4th apprentice, and probably the one who got all of the medical equipment to John.
That can be anyone, maybe doctor Gordon himself, he passed Jigsaw's test, didn't he? Amanda passed his test and became his apprentice so maybe Gordon became his new apprentice as you said; we may never know.
I would like to add something about that envelope for hospital: it probably contains info on Jill, as she battles Mark for legacy

OK, I didn't read all of the comments, so this is maybe already here, but I'll say what I think anyway.
What Jill received from John in that box is meant for his apprentices that are still alive, right? These include:
-5 envelopes for Hoffman
-1 envelope for Jill
-improved version of Reverse Bear Trap to test Hoffman
-one more envelope(we don't know to who it was addressed)
Before Jill went to test Hoffman, she went to HOSPITAL to give that last envelope to someone there, didn't she?

@jeager1999 .......Well, it appears from some pictures of 'Saw 3D', that Hoffman is the orchestrator......of at least Jill's trap. It shows Hoffman working on the go-kart style trap, with the blades at the front, which from the trailer appears to be heading strait for Jill......and the side of his face looks like a cross between Freddy Krueger and Heath Ledger's Joker!

Jill didn't give him the chanche to have a key and survive. He survived with his brain. You may be right about the studs but the bars theory makes no sense usually jigsaw don't use the things that are already there. He gives equipment himself. And Jill gonna cut in half in saw 7 what she did to hoffman leaving him to his death.

@Whereareyouroam ......yes, he ripped the jaw trap out of his mouth, because it had opened halfway, and he could not just remove it normally or it would have dislocated his jaw.....and the lock did break, or he would not have been able to remove it from his head......because that is how it works.....it's locked onto the victims head to prevent them from removing it.

The Trap with dr. gordan u left out a big part to it... If he killed adam he wouldnt have passed his test because jigsaw said he doesnt like MURDERERS, so not killing adam made him pass and when dr. gordan promised to send help, Think about it, Amanda came and well killed Adam, knowing how amanda has disobade jigsaw before so we can conquer that that was the HELP he sent

@marcusnsoriano ......Eric Mathews couldn't have met Dr Gordon.....he found the clue to John's location on the head trap at the beginning of 'Saw 2', because John left it there for him to find.....he then failed his test, and it was Amanda who chained him up.......but by the 'black guy', I take it you mean Detective Tapp......well yeah, he may still be alive.....thats a valid theory.......but I can't see Danny Glover's name on the cast list for 'Saw 7'.

So will hoffman and so will jill tuck. as this is the last movie. they can either go for the ending to get all the followers of jigsaw killed or just leave it as it is and dont make an ending. @RifleNL .....I suspect they will leave something open in the storyline for a 'Saw 8'.....even though they have said it's the last.....Lionsgate will want to continue the franchise if 'Saw 7' does better than 'Saw 6' at the box office (and with the news of Cary Elwes return as Dr Gordon, I am 99% sure it will.....and the 3D 'novelty' will help).......I just hope the traps are badass and the gore is back to the levels of 'Saw 3'!

@SethAnartica ......Jigsaw's wife (Jill Tuck) is not the last one left. Hoffman escaped from the jaw trap she put him in at the end of 'Saw 6',...and he will be going after her in 'Saw 7'......along with a plot revolving around the survivors of John's previous tests.

If it eventually turns out that Dr Gordon is behind it all I shall stand up in the middle of the cinema and applaud! Saw is the best franchise ever and I'm a massive Nightmare on Elm Street fan. Maybe it's the music or the green tint it's shot with but it's just not Halloween until Saw is out. If they do reveal Dr Gordon as an accomplice I think they should end it there, on a high after giving the fans what they've always wanted since it began!

@faybelline01 ......If the whole story ends with Dr Gordon being Jigsaw or Jigsaw's accomplice, then I'll want my ticket money back.......that would be a really boring, predictable ending.

@MarkyH29 No, that's what everybody wants! Obviously, it will be done in such a way that we DID'NT see it coming, but still sort of did...ok example...Amanda received a letter S3 that messed her up. I never forgot about it and always had the notion that Jigsaw was basically telling her " I've not chosen you to continue my lifes work..." but when I found out it was Hoffman who wrote the letter and why I was pleasantly suprised. I saw something was coming but it came in a way I didn't expect! See?

@faybelline01 .......Yeah, I know what you mean, but I'm still not convinced making Dr Gordon the main player is a good move for the story. I do want to see what happened to him after cutting off his foot and crawling out of the room, but thats about it......... I mean, he's not the only one who could have survived. The girl who cut her arm off in 'Saw VI' is still alive, the duo at the end of 'Saw V', etc....

@MarkyH29 Well I know for certain that the Scream Queen from Saw VI is back for the 7th, as are the duo from Saw V I believe. Okay, maybe Dr Gordon shouldn't be the be all and end all, but it would be interesting if he had at least some involvement. Knowing Saw, they will probably bring someone in who's been there from the start, right under our noses, but we never ever suspected.

@faybelline01 .......Officer Rigg (from 'Saw 4') maybe?.....I know Art shot him at the end, but it may have just been a flesh wound, and we never saw him die or his body......I know we saw his profile on a list of dead Jigsaw victims, but his death could have been faked like Agent Perez (in 'Saw 4 and 6').......he also played his game from Jigsaw's point of view in 'Saw 4', remember?.........."see what I see" and "feel how I feel".......makes alot of sense.......

@MarkyH29 There's are so many possibilities. I suppose it does seem a bit of an elaborate test JUST to set Rigg up as an accomplice, a friend actually had the same theory. How did Perez know for certain that Hoffman was behind it all? If so, why did she not report it straight away or arrest him?Maybe Rigg IS alive just like her? Whatever they pull out of the bag I'm sure it will be amazing as always. As much as the Krueger-ite in me is pained by this, Saw is my favourite franchise!

@faybelline01 .....well I'm glad I'm not the only one who has that theory then.......and I'm a 'Krueger-ite' too.......and I've watched my 'Nightmare On Elm Street' box set about 20 times!.......but I have to be honest when I say the new remake REALLY sucked!!, and as much as I tried to convince myself it was good, I just couldn't.....a huge let down :-(......it was like a bad mash up of the original and part 4: The Dream Master.

@MarkyH29 If you would like to hear my thoughts on the new Nightmare on Elm Street re-make, let's go to trailer of it where I can really let loose! I hope that both JEH and Michael Bay read those comments and castrate themselves. Vile piece of putrid horse sick so it was. I have never, EVER, been so angry at a film. It took an amazing, iconic film and doused it in shit. If they decide to do a sequel I shall do a Family Guy, buy a plane ticket, a ladder, go round to Bays house and knock him out!

@faybelline01 .....cool.....there are lots of trailers for the Elm Street remake, which one are you posting comments on?.....and sorry to break it to you, but there are already rumours of a remake of 'Freddy's Revenge' in 3D!.....and seeing as Jackie Earl Haley signed on for 2 sequels, you can bet a remake of 'Dream Warriors' is on the cards too!

Dr. Gordon makes an appearence in saw 7, look up saw 7 on wikipedia. the cast of saw 7 includes Cary Elwes, who plays dr. gordon
