lol, sorry, what I mean is this is classified as J-Rock even if it is metal because in Japan there are three genres of music Rock (Metal, hard rock, emo, etc), Pop (hannah montana, dance, rap) an visual kei
Sorry but i think you have the whole "3 genres" thing all mixed up. Who told you that was the "official" denomination of music in japan? And what genre is VK? What musical style would be if it's not pop, rock or any of those?
Because VK isslowly expanding from been a sun-genre of J-Rock, into it's own genre - It seems to developed one hell of a large fan base -It's basically like Emo - that started a a sub-genre...
That vk has a certain number of fans doesn't make it into a genre. Once more, you're mostly talking about the visual style, the image of the vk bands, but not the musical style. Emo in it's beginnings at least had a sort of lyrical trait. Is there any in VK bands? I can't see any in particular.
I agree, I don't believe that VK is a genre. Think about it, Malice Mizer and SuG are both part of the VK movement but have little if anything in common with respect to musical style.
If we boiled down the musical style of most VK it will range somewhere between industrial rock, electro pop and somewhere in between. Once more, nothing that has been done before, it's the visual presentation of the bands what makes the only difference here.
yh fair alice nkows wat she/ he is talking about think of x japan in 87(fucking love 80s vk) and think of an cafe if u are saying vk is a genre that means they will sound alike and hell no they dont.
Eh... Fact is everything from Japan was classified that way in the US. The Japanese realized this sold CDs so they started labeling their music like that. It has nothing to do with the actual music genre. Visual Kei is simply a way of dressing and the music within the genre range from heavy metal to pop music.
J-Rock is just a label that people seem to place all rock music from japan under when that's actually no real genre and all those bands allready fit under existing genres.
That is worng. Visual Kei is all about how the band sounds too. NOT just the way the band dresses. There are a lot of subduvisions in it. Onmyo-za btw, it's not visual kei. It is heavy metal or enka metal.
No. It's not. X Japan was one of the first Visual Kei bands and they played a range of music styles from glam to thrash metal. Visual Kei is just a label for how they dress. Most visual Kei bands today sound nothing like the old ones either.
@Yzyz00r No. He's right. Visual Kei is just a way of dressing. It's not a real genre. That's why bands that a labeled as such will range from Metal(Gargoyle, Onmyo-Za, X Japan), to Rock(Girugamesh), to Pop(I can't think of any bands...).
It's about the time, too. Listen do X Japan and Luna Sea... They're visual kei and sound alike, even if there are differences between the bands (such as in any other genre). Now listen to two oshare bands and they'll sound alike too. The thing is that: Bands use visuals to show an expression of the things expressed in the music. Visuals alike, music alike.
correction on you sir there exist metal japan trash metal bands such as anthem and black metal bands such as sigh just be sure to be informed before making a point lol

I am not gonna argue with that, it's an awesome cover, great guitar work, it's just the vocals, she is talented, I just don't feel she really fit the bill.
Actually, I've heard some Japanese singers who can sing without the accent, and do an awesome, awesome job.
As for what I mean? The whole thing sounded great, guitar, bass, and drums were all spot on. I just couldn't quite get used to kuroneko's voice, it just felt a tad out of place, not that I'm not acknowledging her talent mind you, it just didn't feel right to me. If it was the male vocalist of the band singing, I'm certain it would've been that much better.
That's exactly what I am trying to say, Kuroneko is indeed very talented, just that her voice didn't fit. Still, everything else was awesome, and overall, it's one of the better covers of "The Trooper" that I've heard.
LoL, Wow, I thought the intro sounded a little different on the mix, but was like ok, drums sound more awesome than usual, then the vocals began.... only took a second to get used to it then it freekin ROCKS...AWESOME !!!
