San Remo Song Festival. In the past years, the winner automatically

went to represent Italy at the Eurovision.

However, the 1971 winner was Massimo Ranieri with L'Amore e un

Attimo. It is almost forgotten outside Italy, but Che sera remains

an Evergreen. This is often the case of Song Festivals, the winning

song remains in oblivion while the non-winning becomes a classic.

Another good e^xample is Eres tu.

@Japanese1970 Sorry,the winner of Sanremo 1971 was Nicola di Bari and Nada with song "Il cuore è uno zingaro".But certainly Jose Feliciano was the most big sensation that year and sure one of the best icons of the enitre festival history. Jose was re-invited at Sanremo Festival like "international guest" in 1977 and in 1998 where he re-sung Che Sarà and his current song "americano" which don't become a hit (unfortunately that was a wrong spanish song for italian market,he should sing in english)

to the one performed by Iva Zanichi. Anyway, it was Che Sera which

emerged as a great hit from this contest. Che Sera remains popular in

Asia and America (Que Sera).

Like in the Eurovision, the Winned had no guaranty to be a hit. For example,

L'Amour est Bleu for Vicky Leandros 1967,Congratulations 1969,Beg, Steal

or Borrow with New Seekers 1972 and Eres tu with Mocedades 1973.

The first was Jose Feliciano, who was invited in Sanremo festival in Italia by the writer of the song Jimmy Fontana who was his friend and write Che Sara for him. In Sanremo at that time any song was sung from two singers by the same record label: Jimmy Fontana was sure He was the second singer of this at that festival but at the end the RCA decided to give space at their new group called Ricchi e Poveri. But Jose is the first singer of this song

En México la versión es español comenzó a sonar hace unos 38 años, a finales de 1971 o principios de 1972 y sigue siendo de las favoritas.
