Got the tacamo x7p conversion kit...got the box mag...here is my personal review...chops balls...box mag cant keep up with auto fire....box mag shakes around loose...I got like 350 paintballs shot before I ran outta air.....difficult to reload box mag...both packages came with no instructions, manuals, no paper work at all.

I like rap4 and I know this is a prototype... But if consumers are going to be buying hundreds if dollars in products they should be working properly. Great concept... Too many problems. Looking forward for more vids.

What a great honest and unbiased review of this pre productoin product. It's help to make my decision to not pre order until RAP4/ TACAMO can release a product 100% free of defects. I personally think the T68 is grabage your paying all for cosmetics on a basic smart parts internal build. The basi T68 is $100 the m4 ranger T68 is $750....unjustified! Let's hope they get this right before they come out on market. I'll be looking to you Wolf for another review when ready for the public

@HyP3rxMiTchXx0 its made for the carver, but its all the same one kit for all us army guns, so it will look nothing like a normal carver, it will look like a salvo with out a stock or shroud on it

The Clear Mag's are fualty, I saw it in another video, somthing to do with the spring release. The Mag feed issue will be fixed, as for the other things, we will have to wait and see.
things like the mag shake and mag release, or leaks and such are easy fixes and should be the only types of problems in test releases. The chamber that holds the bolt and carrier being that far off spec is something I dont see being easy to fix before release and I have doubts they will. If the kits release with poor fitting It would be unacceptable to me. just my $.02

Its forbinded can you beliave? :( So what we do is buy things from the internet (most from rap4) and wait and pray to arives in brazil. So we cant be buying things from outside and notice that it have some problems when it gets here. I hope they fix this problems so I can buy and have no problems here. I play real action so it would be great to use a real magazine!
well for the radel mag problem theres always the old hocky tap around the top of the mag and the milsig mags will work in it and are more reliable to my understanding me and another guy on my team have both pre ordered this kit for the BT-4 and the X7 im hoping to get a review up of both of those to see if theres a diffrence between modles and by the look of the delay (THANK YOU WOLF!!!) it looks like there trying to fix the problem

@vinspad0 it does have a locking collar. if you press the neck down, it releases the detents allowing the balls to move freely. once it is let go, the detents move back into place to hold the balls. the feed necks on these are the old 3 ball detents...the new ones got 6 detents. it holds a lot better.
@vinspad0 also on that note, ive never had problems inserting my mags into my t68 and having the balls fly out. its only when the release trigger is pushed will it dow that.
Nice review. The majority of the feed issues were from the hinge that lets the spool spin in the magazine. There is too much play and not a large enough contact point to keep it disengaged. Enlarging both surfaces while making sure the magwell is angled properly should do the trick.
wolf, you should do a vid to assure that for those how pre-ordered should still continue to hold on to them as these bugs are being fixed. many here look up to you and at first thought think that since you've done a review on the test model, this is what it's going to be even though it has not even in the mass production stage. assure them that this is an eval pre-production and not the eval of the actual final production.
no ive watched a lot of the rap4 stuff,.. each kit looks a bit different,.. and while i can see hoe this testing phase will implement corrections in the 98 shell,.. it seems that theyre flagshipping on the a5
hey wolf i have an a5 and for some reason the o ring in the power tube keeps breaking and i have no idea y i put oil on the tank before i use it and even when i put a new o ring in it still breaks plz help
i might sound like a call of duty nerd but when you reload an m4 the guy hits the side of the gun instead of cocking it back maybe thats one of thing rap4 put to make it feel more real...and use some tape on the front of the mag so it wont wobble much...
@Deville360 or you can just pretend to hit the gun on the side to make it feel more real, when it is pointless because you dont need to assist a paintball into the chamber. to much airsoft and or cod.
This video is good because it let's the makers know what to look at before release. every paint ball maker should be doing this. we would have excellent R&D
Even though it's a pre-production model, some of the wrong stuff still surprise me.
I own a T68 and have no problems whatsoever with the mag well "thingy" sticking out and not coming back. I would think that if you know how to do it right from the beginning, you won't do it wrong afterwards. One thing I noticed is that, in comparison to the t68's magwell, the conversion's kit is a lot smaller, which made a lot harder for wolf to reload the magazine correctly.
It's really frustrating to see all the hate. Some of you guys need to realize these are EVALUATION KITS they're freakin pre-production still! This in no way reflects on the final product. Check out rap4's response, it really boosts my confidence. I for one am not disheartened about my pre-order this is an advance for mag fed and that's all I care about.
So long story short, this proves that MilSigs are worth the money. The mags work, they fit, the mag release comes with an extension to meet at the trigger guard, They're efficient, and they're just actually good... Way to fail hard rap4!
@RevBruceOSF sorry...but milsig has bugs to work out too, such as their mags not latching into the mag well. and their extension for the mag release is too sensative.
at least with these kits, you can still have your different shrouds as to milsig where there is only a limited look to it. besides, milsig is just an a5 so not so air efficient.
seems the MAG is the biggest issue. This is embarrassing for the prototype. You know what REALLY bugs me? NO 98 conversion kit ANYTHING!!! we dont all have a5's...
if the testing is specifically for the a5,.. will the same be done for the 98?

Everyone who is trash talking this kit NEEDS to remember that first gen ANYTHING has bugs, especially paintball gear. Anyone who has ever bought a first generation marker knows that there are always issues. This kit wasnt even a production model, so dont hate on Tacamo/Rap4 too much. Testing like this is exactly how bugs get sorted, and before you know it the kit is gonna be way more refined and way more reliable.

Whats up Wolf..I have a suggestion on the mag well.they should square it off to give it more area for the mag to sit in..looks like they cut it at that angle to save material but AR15/16 have square magwells anyway.

Its really not that bad if your good at modding but out of the box it has many issues that need fixing. Also it seems like a good modding project considering the pre order price is under $100.

Hey Wolf, thank-you for your honesty in this review. I was also very frustrated seeing those breaks and jam. I was appalled by how easy it was for the flatline moving. Hope this helps RAP4 to work out the kinks, your review helped to give an objective view and ground the hype surround this kit. Keep up the good work!

I bought two of these kits... I really hope Tacamo will be offering some sort of complimentary replacement parts to fix these issues for those of us who preordered months ago after they first went up for preorder.

These are pre-production evaluation kits (beta test) sent out to testers (Wolf is of the evaluators) to find potential issues from end users. Any issues/problems found from these evaluation kits will be fixed on the production version. So for those of you who pre-ordered the kits, rest assure that the final production version will be bug free

Wolf, the Rap4 magazine has a collar at the top which hold the paintballs until it's pressed down. During your testing this collar is easily tripped when loading the magazine into the magwell. This is bad because it forces you to be gentle and accurate during reload instead of "feeling" out the mag to the magwell. Rap4 should "lock" the collar so it won't press down accidentally. The "unlock" collar button (placed at the top of mag) gets pressed as the mag moves up the magwel.

@vinspad0 it does have a locking collar. if you press the neck down, it releases the detents allowing the balls to move freely. once it is let go, the detents move back into place to hold the balls. the feed necks on these are the old 3 ball detents...the new ones got 6 detents. it holds a lot better.

@vinspad0 also on that note, ive never had problems inserting my mags into my t68 and having the balls fly out. its only when the release trigger is pushed will it dow that.

Nice review. The majority of the feed issues were from the hinge that lets the spool spin in the magazine. There is too much play and not a large enough contact point to keep it disengaged. Enlarging both surfaces while making sure the magwell is angled properly should do the trick.

wolf, you should do a vid to assure that for those how pre-ordered should still continue to hold on to them as these bugs are being fixed. many here look up to you and at first thought think that since you've done a review on the test model, this is what it's going to be even though it has not even in the mass production stage. assure them that this is an eval pre-production and not the eval of the actual final production.

i might sound like a call of duty nerd but when you reload an m4 the guy hits the side of the gun instead of cocking it back maybe thats one of thing rap4 put to make it feel more real...and use some tape on the front of the mag so it wont wobble much...

Even though it's a pre-production model, some of the wrong stuff still surprise me.
I own a T68 and have no problems whatsoever with the mag well "thingy" sticking out and not coming back. I would think that if you know how to do it right from the beginning, you won't do it wrong afterwards. One thing I noticed is that, in comparison to the t68's magwell, the conversion's kit is a lot smaller, which made a lot harder for wolf to reload the magazine correctly.

It's really frustrating to see all the hate. Some of you guys need to realize these are EVALUATION KITS they're freakin pre-production still! This in no way reflects on the final product. Check out rap4's response, it really boosts my confidence. I for one am not disheartened about my pre-order this is an advance for mag fed and that's all I care about.

So long story short, this proves that MilSigs are worth the money. The mags work, they fit, the mag release comes with an extension to meet at the trigger guard, They're efficient, and they're just actually good... Way to fail hard rap4!

@RevBruceOSF sorry...but milsig has bugs to work out too, such as their mags not latching into the mag well. and their extension for the mag release is too sensative.
at least with these kits, you can still have your different shrouds as to milsig where there is only a limited look to it. besides, milsig is just an a5 so not so air efficient.

if the testing is specifically for the a5,.. will the same be done for the 98?

Everyone who is trash talking this kit NEEDS to remember that first gen ANYTHING has bugs, especially paintball gear. Anyone who has ever bought a first generation marker knows that there are always issues. This kit wasnt even a production model, so dont hate on Tacamo/Rap4 too much. Testing like this is exactly how bugs get sorted, and before you know it the kit is gonna be way more refined and way more reliable.

@tooootall Well said. This is not a reveiw of a production model its a review of product not yet to market. Knowing the quality of the parts and markers from RAP4 I am sure they would delay its release before they let something that was crap go to market.

Whats up Wolf..I have a suggestion on the mag well.they should square it off to give it more area for the mag to sit in..looks like they cut it at that angle to save material but AR15/16 have square magwells anyway.

Its really not that bad if your good at modding but out of the box it has many issues that need fixing. Also it seems like a good modding project considering the pre order price is under $100.

Hey Wolf, thank-you for your honesty in this review. I was also very frustrated seeing those breaks and jam. I was appalled by how easy it was for the flatline moving. Nice review Wolf ! I agree that it has alot of potential and if they took care of at least most of the points you cover(and a couple better be that mag release) it would be a awesome mod for anyones a5 thats looking to kick it up a knotch!! But depending on the cost of it and you didnt already have a a5 I think I would just save the money and get a milsig !!

Great job Wolf. I love your honesty man, this kit has so much potential but there is still a lot of work to be done. Slow reloads will kill ya', and that A5 is the king of slow reloads
