In the Real World, an F15E or A-10 Hog would decimate and destroy all targets called in bt CCTS, Tacp, Seals, Delta, Rangers and any other friendlies linked up with our aircraft. 228ghost228 is right but the entire reason is that that AA missels or anit-air missels are heat-seaking and the flares give off enough heat to distract the missels or send them off course so the missel will hit the flare (or try to) instead of the plane very effective
to the people who are discussing realism, in any military media that is of the currant time period, alot of the detailed things such as the tac radar would not be allowed to be shown because of security reasons, i would consider this as an outline to what redflag is, in places it would have been hollywoodarised. it is still a great movie and i quite enjoyed it

Yeah, there is something a little fake about this film. And maybe it's just me but the overall operation didn't feel properly explained. The bits where it's going on just seem rushed. Some cockpit shots almost looked like they were lifted from Independence Day. What can I say? Speed and Angels was alot better.
I saw a lot of artistic license - Hollywood exaggeration and some errors. I really don't think the animations on the radar in the AWACS look like perfect 3D images- ICBW. The bombs were supposed to be live- real, but when they were bombing the tanks, it looked like cans of gasoline being ignited. It was entertaining none the less.

i dont see the point in replacing the f15. they have the best flight record next to the p51. the f22s havent even been proven in battle yet. also, it will be hard to adjust the current pilots from f15s to the f22s. but wut im saying is that by the time i enlist in the airforce (2 years) they'll train the new future pilots to get used to the f22s....
well tbh the f-15 although 30 years old is still one of the best fighters in the world, none have been shot down, and on a trial flight an Israeli pilot lost a wing and still managed to land safely.
here's the thing, the f22 is a waste of money since it costs about 120 mil each, which is a huge waste. it would take a while to replace all f15s. plus, the u.s. government has anounced that the f15 will be in service for at least until 2028

man, with such inspiration, many young people would like to fly jets, including myself. However, not many are as lucky as the best pilot that make it to the sky.

Yeah, there is something a little fake about this film. And maybe it's just me but the overall operation didn't feel properly explained. The bits where it's going on just seem rushed. Some cockpit shots almost looked like they were lifted from Independence Day. What can I say? Speed and Angels was alot better.

I saw a lot of artistic license - Hollywood exaggeration and some errors. I really don't think the animations on the radar in the AWACS look like perfect 3D images- ICBW. The bombs were supposed to be live- real, but when they were bombing the tanks, it looked like cans of gasoline being ignited. It was entertaining none the less.

well they have so many it will take probably a good 10 years to replace them all. surely they cant all be replaced by the f-22 as well. have you seen the price of the f-22?

planes are replaced all at once, they take them out completely once the decision is made. i dont think they replace them one by one

no i mean squadron by squadron, and you have to train all the pilots on new aircraft so it's a long process
In the UK we have started to introduce the eurofighter, but have been doing that for a long time now and still ahve a long way to go!

i dont see the point in replacing the f15. they have the best flight record next to the p51. the f22s havent even been proven in battle yet. also, it will be hard to adjust the current pilots from f15s to the f22s. but wut im saying is that by the time i enlist in the airforce (2 years) they'll train the new future pilots to get used to the f22s....

well tbh the f-15 although 30 years old is still one of the best fighters in the world, none have been shot down, and on a trial flight an Israeli pilot lost a wing and still managed to land safely.

here's the thing, the f22 is a waste of money since it costs about 120 mil each, which is a huge waste. it would take a while to replace all f15s. plus, the u.s. government has anounced that the f15 will be in service for at least until 2028

i think those were added for effect in post production. they wouldn't actually launch missiles at their own guys!
