Yeah, I saw them with the big laser show, in St. Louis. During 7 Days of May, one of those lasers got me right in the eye! But, I suffered no permanent damage, and it was an awesome show. I just hope that you younger rockers out there can experience live shows like B.O.C. If you have, let me know who they are, so I can see them, too.
I suppose that back in 76 there wasn't any law concerning the use of lasers. It is imperative that the laser beams can never reach the people eyes. (At least in France !) Lasers are beautiful but dangerous. 2 years ago 15 teenagers became definitely blind in a night club in Russia when a laser had a breakdown and ceased to move quickly.
I read an article somewhere about it, I guess they were real fragile and broke alot, plus the govt ran an investigation into suspected eye damage of concert goers, If I remember correctly Eric Bloom testified before Congress about it.
Apparently it's ok for corporations to skin us alive but if a rock band has lasers, well Congress is right on it to save us. :)
did you ever get a chance to see the short-lived Laser Shows ?? one night they had 2 mirrored balls on stage left & right and one of the scoreboard in the center of the New Haven Coliseum, along with Quad sound, one laser on any ball became a major sight, there were at least 20 3/4" laser beams hitting your body
they had to go, it killed the band financially, always breaking and required a seperate semi to haul it
never did - No - I am sure it became quite the burden for them - cool props, but a real chore to drag that stuff around all the time and maintaIn it..
I know, I was just being a smart ass, hence the ; ), great video, the sound isn't bad, seen BOC many times, best show was a few years back at the Webster Theatre in Hartford Ct during a blizzard, like 45 people showed up, it was great, like having BOC in your living room, and being the pros they are they just kicked ass even more, 1st time I saw them do Tattoo Vampire live
no problem my friend.... ... I had the mics in the cam turned up way too high at the time so there's a little audio distortion in spots that I'm sure you noticed,, otherwise the audio would have been awesome .. I learned later ;) ... I love BOC too... First time I saw BOC was when Foghat opened for them in Buffalo at the Aud back in 1981 ... and ya gotta love the private intimate little shows too (like the Hartford show) ! . ..These guys without a doubt are one professional class act !!
Dude, Trust me ... I was tryin' ... I was way the hell back in the crowd up on the hill as you will see around 3:40 and the lens was zoomed way way out ... gets's real hard to hold it steady enough without a tripod when it's that far out ..sorry
So awesome Scott. You really captured some magic here !!!! Beautiful scenery ! These guys were having a blast hahaha I love it :) thanks for sharing . Made my night :)
Thanks Lora !!!! .. Despite a little audio distortion it remains one of my favourite vids because like you said it really captured some magic live... if they ever come your way you should go see'm cause these guys really put on a great show !!! as you can see - High Energy Rock & Roll :)
