  • nice kill - I can´t believe there are still fags who come up with statements like "make it rear wheel drive/front wheel drive and see what happens". your argument makes no sense. evos were/are and will always be all wheel driven so get that drivetrain excuse outta here. I´m a V8 fanatic myself but stick to the facts - srsly. V8s are great for low end torque/power (comfortable cruising), naturally aspirated power output, amazing sound and reliability - but they´re not invincible.

  • A ton of hostility and fan boy-ism on here. Nice run to the Evo, though the RWD "drag" car probably weighs 1K more. At everyone else...power-weight ratio matters more than engine type. These ridiculous 4 cyl vs 8 cyl debates are pointless. Judge by CAR design! -K

  • @MujaRagHeadKillaUK I am not talking about rallying though am i? nor was i competing in a rally, i am talking about drag racing where awd isnt banned and it is also not the ideal set up for big horsepower cars, certainly not when you are aiming for low quarters, having said that i personally still like AWD cars, read the thread properly before commenting you might be less likely to make your self look like a cunt next time.

  • @boostedup You were talking about rallying.....You said rally cars a rear wheel drive, when most are in fact AWD with a few being front wheel drive. And for a FACT AWD is banned from nearly all circuit racing because of the R32 Skyline GTR because it raped all in its path.

    again i prefer AWD myself on the road they are pretty hard to beat,

    think about it... the race has specific rules, awd is an advatage that couldent be beat because of regulations.

    would that AWD skyline still kick ass? nope.

  • cheers for all the positive comments, the car has since run an 11.02 @131 on street 215 firestone fire hawkes which i dont rate, and i have a set of 1000cc injctors coming to replace the 710 and a nitrous kit at that stage i will fit some semi slicks so watch this space, car is still road driven

  • Mine goes around corners & stops,has a heater,A/C &all the other creature comforts,doesnt rattle &squeak like an old car,& was the 1st time that car had been raced as opposed to the dozens of meetings the drag car had been to(also he was tailored down there obviously not practical to drive),on my 2nd day out i ran 11.3 from only 3 runs &will do a 10 yet, i have had it on the road for 2.5 years it sees 20psi boost & 8000rpm every single time i drive it with out fail & only broken a transfer case

  • as i said evo goes around corners too and it can drive out there it self with out having to be towed on a trailer because it is completely impractical for the street and still slower, also that was the evos first run at the drags and even though to date it has only bee on the track 3 times (twice at drags) it has only broken one transfer box that im sure was on its way out when i got it so im not entirely sure the cortina would be much more reliable especially if it was also driven on the street

  • handles mint it has adjusties in it comfy to drive although a little noisey i am changing to softer springs as it is to hard and affecting my 60ft times car makes 400kw@wheels cost bout 50kNZ all up should be good for a high ten and i still drive it on the street

  • get you hand off it, any car that does 11sec standing quarter and is daily driven is a legend street car, some v8s maybe be fast but alot of the street v8s that are fast wouldnt touch the evo around corners, in braking, or comfort, plus i can do an 11sec quarter and still get 12.5km to the litre, and i have a 10sec pass in it
