@benivere Everyone had crooked teeth back then... not just the Brits either. Dentistry was focused entirely on preventative dentistry... keeping the permanent teeth you had. Flossing hadn't even been invented yet. Crooked teeth were just part of your unique personality back then; no one thought a thing about it. Today if you don't have perfect teeth you are afraid to smile. Yeah, I know what I'm talking about... I've lived for 60-years.
@mnpd007 Once again i find that a senior, of which i am also(dob1956), is reading something into my comment other than its intent. I met Peter at a concert in Miami in 1972. It was in a tent at a new shopping mall and I walked into his dressing area accidentally. His teeth were perfect and as I never saw him on TV I was not aware of his crooked teeth until I saw this video. This comment was a joke. I am also sure that Peter was aware he had crooked teeth.
I thought hermans hermits had some stupid songs one was that henery the eighth one and didnt they also do that mrs brown song in my opion the only real thing going for them was peter noone he had his good looks going for him but they had some silly and funny songs,,didnt care to much for them,,
stfu IDIOTS!!! This is all about destroying your higher self, and lowering ypou to less than ANIMALS! Don't get me wrong I was SUCKED IN TOO! The ones who can see it will be STONED to death. WHO WILL BE THE FIRST dumphuk TO PICK UP THE FIRSt stone???? MORONS This was only the begnnining to what we have now...HEAVY METAL /RAP which = SHIT!!!!
Hermans Hermits had different hits in the US than they did in the UK. The UK hits were vastly superior to the inferior songs specially tailored for the US audience.
I had the opportunity to meet Peter Noone and he was very gracious and still looked very young. I asked him how he was able to meet Carole King who wrote something tell me I'm into something good. He said it was pure luck. Carole King also wrote Locomotion and little eva was their baby sitter. I enjoyed all these British invasion groups. thanks for the post
Herman's Hermits mostly recorded songs written by other people for them, or they recorded covers of other performer's songs. The few songs they wrote themselves were not hits. This is what separates them from bands like the Beatles that created new songs and new sounds, and influenced the world's music.
As fun as they were at the time, you shouldn't confuse them with bands that create their own music.
Great video! Great songs! Love Herman's Hermits! They were such a great band and so unfarly underrated. Can't think of any band today that can write songs like these guys did. Not even close. Peter and Gordon also rock! The Dakotas-just plain magic. Hey, nyrainbow5, thanks for this British Invasion classic
Hey, Thomaspwgy, Herman's Hermits had so many beautiful songs that still sound great to this date. "No Milk Today" "A Bit Better" "Listen People" "Kind of a Hush" were stunninly beautiful songs. They also had many more great hits. All this Rap-Hip-Hop vomit is nowhere close to a great band like Herman's Hermits. Feel sorry for today's youth.
I didn't say they were a bad band! They had beautiful songs, but it doesen't mean they are underrated! They get the credit they deserve for being a very succesful POP band! They just didn't have the songwriting skills to remain popular during later eras, like the Beatles for instance!
Trivia question! What year did Peter Noone get his teeth fixed?

What good teeth Peter Asher had - looks like he'd been trying to pull off bottle tops.

Unlike the majority of today's new artists, these bands could perform live and sound great! All the vocals here are live.

Herman's Hermits were not underrated! They had big big succes in the mid 60's, during the POP and BEAT years!
They weren't such good songwriters as The Beatles, and didn't have the skill to remain commercially succesfull during the psychedelic era!
