  • Any chance of seeing the finished item... just sat through 15 mins of you chipping away, only to discover... no spoon !

  • @BeepBeepBoing LOL. Sure bud. Give me some time though. I'm currently helping folks recover from Irene. Basically the rest of it was final shaping with a knife and sandpaper. I only intended this video to be the rough hatchet forming part.

  • @practicalwhacktical ahhh cool.. look forward to seeing it. Well done for helping people by the way.

  • @BeepBeepBoing I love this kind of work. Good money. Get to help folks and you learn a lot about bugging out from disasters by "bugging in" to them.

  • there are some people who would say" thats sharp"

    and i think there right

  • @bratstarr Thank you. I spent a good deal of time to get it that way.

  • @practicalwhacktical i know this is an old sayin but its true so here goes....

"blunt tools are more dangerous than sharp ones"

  • @bratstarr Old sayings like that are often the best ones to repeat. I have a half in long scar on the inside of my right wrist to remind me how dangerous blunt tools can be.

  • @practicalwhacktical are u sure thats not just a cry 4 help....

    think about it.....

or is it a cool scar 2 show the kids ;)

  • @bratstarr I was married at the time, so maybe. lol

  • 2 things what brand is the hatchet, because mine looks like the but i dont remember the name 2 this vid was posted on the day i came to youtube

  • @zippomustang05 It's a Vaughn hatchet. They're mostly known for their hammers but this is a good hatchet. And welcome to youtube.

  • @practicalwhacktical thanks and do you know of a good place to have mine reprofiled?

  • @zippomustang05 Honestly, I don't know. I did it myself with a belt sander. You could do the same with a file and some elbow grease.

  • @practicalwhacktical ok thanks for your help

  • what are you going to do with those wood chips?

  • @FemptMurderOrgy666 Compost mostly.

  • I need a hammer dulcimer soundtrack to go with this. Someone out there want to feature some of their music? Looks like I'm running about 20 hits a day.

  • Excuse my audible exhales...lol. I tend to hold my breath while chopping close to my hand. I have found it increases my accuracy.
