Also, I really like the plasma cannon. It can't be reflected, it can hit multiple enemies, ammo isn't that rare, and it can hit assassins. Not sure how much Attack you need, no more than four I think, but it can one shot them.
Nonono, it's base 3. Upside-down T is 0, middle is 1, and T is 2. Then you have _-, which is 3, because 0*(3^0) + 1*(3^1) = 1. And it "goes up to 242" because 2*(3^0) + 2*(3^1) + 2*(3^2) + 2*(3^3) + 2*(3^4) = 242. You're basically using your left hand's fingers to point to your right hand's finger's joints to represent the numbers.
Indeed, but then you have to remember that you count with combinations of your joints, not the ammount of joints. it's a base 4 system, it's not that simple. you were thinking base 10 AKA decimal, which is what we usually count in.
I tried it with my thumbs, but that was way too hard. Thankfully 8 fingers is enough for anything you would want to count on your hands anyway, and it's actually pretty easy to do.
Hey! Dorks! Shut up about the Ternary thing already! Yes, I know it's base 3, not 4. I thought they were counting bottom bar as 1, not 0, my bad. Keep mentioning it and you know what I'll do.
Oh DC, your play style fustrates me to no end. I'm not complaining about the videos, or expecting you to change anything for my sake, don't get me wrong.
But when you're strutting around with near full ammo for near all of the game's weapons, and you still insist on playing reflector-cat-and-mouse with the enemies... you just seem to be shooting yourself in the foot by not using the more exotic guns.
It's like playing Half-Life 2 and only using the gravity gun. Because maybe you want the satisfaction of killing people by throwing a toilet or exploding barrels or a hotel sign at their faces, or catching their projectiles and throwing them back.
Also, finished a pacifist run, four kills, it was so totally worth doing. Everyone should do one to see the dialogue! (except DC, 'cause he already did and he doesn't want to)
Next to play through killing everything that moves. Maybe this time I'll put points into attack. >:3
I think I see how counting that would work... every number the horizontal bar on the vertical bar goes up, when it reaches the top, a new ones made, and so on.
Ternary's actually base 3. It has three settings: low, middle, high. Like how base 10 has ten settings, 0-9.
It could work if one could move each of their fingers halfway or all the way up by themselves.
If Iji could aim down, she could just do a normal Quake-style rocket jump instead of the nuke jump. But if I were given a choice, I'd pick the nuke jump.
Okay, I got confused because I didn't realize that low knuckle was for 0. Honestly, I misunderstood the counting and thought they were counting three lengths on a finger, not 2. So yeah, digits 0 1 and 2, ternary. Makes sense now.
The only thing that bugs me about this game is the somewhat arbitrary "You must do it this way!" bits. You need 10 strength to open this door. No, put away your nuke. Use your leg.
So that one gun can shoot through walls? Well it can't touch this. Cue Hammer music.
isn't the reboot code impossible to do until you've actually found that logbook though? it's one of the skills that get added to your repertoire, so to speak. so spoiling it is kind of impossible, I think.
I remember when I first read the logbooks about the Tasen and the girlfriend. At first I thought they were lesbians or something, no offense, but then I realized sometimes girls call their friends girlfriends. It made more sense.
It's intentionally vague. Instead of blatantly saying "accept homosexuals!", which would draw attention to them, treat them differently and be heavy-handed, I just let it slip in there somewhat unnoticed.
Like half the troops being female, it's also part of making the Tasen and Komato more internally organized. I know this will sound pretentious, but the idea was to make them accept each other but still not their enemies, even when the only thing separating them is just another superficiality.
Spoilers! Sounds like my bag. Also shooting rockets in people's faces. That's my bag as well! Ha ha!
I've got to say, I respect Iji's character in a gaming world full of buxom, confident babes. At long last, we have someone we can consider normal who's coincidentally armed to the teeth!
So was I blocked for knowing you'd have to deal with "Iazer" jokes, or did you skip my comment as a preventive measure (sorry about the fact it prevented nothing)?
Also, I asked Ultimortal/Dan Remar about ternary. It's a base three system (hence the name), and simple enough to explain if anyone's interested.
Heh base 16 is more convenient. You can count to 255 using both hands
KosteonLink 1 year ago
Seems like ternary gets cumbersome quickly.
Also, I really like the plasma cannon. It can't be reflected, it can hit multiple enemies, ammo isn't that rare, and it can hit assassins. Not sure how much Attack you need, no more than four I think, but it can one shot them.

@Sanzath Problem with that is: Human thumbs only have 2 joints not 3. Breaks the system.

Teching in this game is more like "perfect shielding" in the Smash Bros series, except that Iji gets hurt and still knocked back a bit.

Uhh, okay so we have three joints in each finger?
*gets calculator out* ok so thats... 30 joints in all 10 fingers?

Three joints on four fingers.
Times two hands.
That gets twenty four joints in all.
Twenty eight counting the thumbs.

Consider the size of the weapons you carry and how much firepower they pack. It puts the size of the Phantom Hammer into better perspective.

Damn, even the shotgun works. Why a leve 10 kick can't destroy the Phantom Hammer?? And it's not even crackable!
Anyway, teching is just getting hit and be damaged without flinching too much, just like Elites and Berserkers do. I still prefer AVOIDING bullets.

Its somewhat nifty in electronics.

I think I'll go with the spoilers.

ZeroAscension 3 years ago
Actually I'd skip the whole video if spoilers are an issue. Just about the entirety of next video is revealing secrets.
Nothing major to the plot, mind you, just the identity of a couple remaining characters that we'll encounter, and the existence of certain weapons.
DeceasedCrab 3 years ago
For those of you who've forgotten from the earlier videos in this series:
No spoiling the nanofield reboot code. No asking for the nanofield reboot code. Yes, I am still blocking people for doing either of these things.
If you would just be patient, we will see the answer in a few sectors (it's in a log in Sector X, if you must know).
DeceasedCrab 3 years ago
isn't the reboot code impossible to do until you've actually found that logbook though? it's one of the skills that get added to your repertoire, so to speak. so spoiling it is kind of impossible, I think.
