  • You said that small cell lung cancer is very respondent to chemo, however, it is also very likely to come back with a vengeance so to speak. It usually comes back withing six months and when it comes back it is far less responsive to chemotherapy.

    Otherwise, amazing as always.

    Thanks for the video,

    Vlad

  • To put a face on it: Mom died of small cell 11-24-08. In Oct '08 there was rapid onset SOB, weakness, anorexia, and severe hyponatremia. Chest CT: 1.3 x 1.0cm lateral RUL mass, extensive mediastinal and bilateral hilar adenopathy. There were also mets to the liver and ?? Hospice was our only compassionate option. In Sept '08 Mom had been a relatively healthy 80yo traveler and Red Cross volunteer who had stopped smoking more than 15 yrs ago. Keep up the msg: "DON'T SMOKE"!

  • My uncle was diagnosed with oat cell lung cancer about 8 months ago. at that time the drs gave him 12-18 months to live. Now it appears to be metastasizing, they said it is in both lungs now, with some involvement of the rib cage and it is also in 4 lymphnodes of the neck. They said on the slides it had very little to no differentiation at all. That sounds very bad to me.
