This is very true, without the ego we wouldn't have art or music. The ego is essential to the well being of humans. I mean imagine if we were egoless there wouldn't be an individual just a borg.
Ego does not exist. It is only because you choose to identify with body and mind that it does. The ego is essential for holding onto any religious identity. The Ego is the one that needs an identity. The real you needs no identity. it is full and complete in itself.
Most people call the being you talk about SATAN because of Xian dogma. I call him Azazel. The Supreme Ego that is in everyone waiting 2 be discovered after u break down the biggest impediment and barrier (fear).
also, if you call your god Azazel and you want to avoid this 'xian dogma' then why don't you call yourself an Azazelite, or Azalelian or something - because your chosen god is Azazel, not Satan?
If you try to relate Satan to Azazel you are doing the same thing the christian does when they relate Satan to all the other gods and demons out there, including Pan, Enki, Set, and Azazel... that is the effect of monotheism.
WHat r u talking about u r on a different page then I... I dont want to avoid the xtian dogma I simply avoid it... Names are names... they r irrevelant to what I was trying to say. SATAN to me comes from the word Sat Nam (Knowledge of Self) Azazel to me is the super ego. I dont worship any gods. I only worship myself the I and the Me. No god has power over me because I dont let them. To each his own definitions. I never said u were wrong. I simply stated my own belief system.
The aim is to make rebirth the Spiritual Self from the junction of our bones, all our body must be an image of that Spirit...
IMprove our contemplation, the seight over the things that surround us from a bad street until a nice lighty ray of the Sun. This is the contemplation that the Fathers of the Church always cursed.
Being more interactive with the cosmic power and beauty and so, rebirthing in a new personal consciousness.
Valete (i made inspiration by the thoughts of Pio F. Ronconi)
Im pretty left wing and i think ego is kinda like a fake distraction...We arent who we were yesterday... always changing... clinging to ego at death is really pointless... i like buddhism. You seem thoughtful though, I like these posts...
That is a very good subject, Venus! The ego is a key point in socio-political-religious issues. Some systems strip the ego from the masses to make them subservient while simultaneously overinflating those of the "leadership"---kinda sounds like psychic vampirism, doesn't it?
What you said is true from my perspective. Balance seems to be a strategic place. I think the learning of disciplines for the "realization of the intent of will" is easily blurred into RHP's philosophies. I like how La Vey refers to ritual as an "intellectual decompression chamber".
Ego inflation is a serious problem in the spiritual life. It's not a question of taking the limited personality and inflating that. In order to ascend something needs to be lost. Like you have to peel the onion in order for the transpersonal self to emerge/be realized. Transcend and include. Self can be located at may points in the spectrum of consciousness.
The ego is contraction. The very process of contraction.
In Hinduism they say that basically the death of the ego or 'sense of I' is pretty much the path to enlightenment.
In satanism is that the same view?
I understand you need to use the ego as a tool to reach enlightenment. However, if Satan is the biggest ego, would the best way to worship Satan be to create a big ego like he has?
Or is Satan a teacher that can help you understand the rules of karma?
Thats the trick I think.Using the ego to advance the self but not becoming delusional about what your currently capable of.Maybe in the future you will be that powerful but if you cant demonstrate it then its not a reality.
The Ego is in two parts: the ego that spans sapce an time; the ego that is the incarnated perspective; limited to its self, unable to see the bigger picture.
But the ego must absorb every expereince, by degrees, until it has encompassed the universe; the ego consumes all experience so that it might encompass itself. - in any cas,e limitation is a temporary inconvenience.
typically having an ego is a mask for ones insecurities. To be egotistical is to choose to be ignorant, to choose to be confidant, is to choose to appear successful ;) Common Venus...
Good video Venus, I'd would personally call it "ambition" or a "strong will'. But then again, any of those can work against people if you really think about it. In my experince when people get a reputation for being egotistical they are masking feelings of inferiority. I would emphasize strongly on "Know Thyself" as being a remedy for someone riding too high on their horse, so to speak.
I believe that your opinion on balancing ego is very realistic and makes sense, as I agree that there must be a balance for everything. As a side comment, I do have to suggest adding caption, perhaps, to the bottom of your videos as it is somewhat hard to depict words you are speaking because of the background noise or lack of clarity.
And for the record, I am neither supportive nor opposed to racism. I simply accept that it exists and wish to discuss it's ramifications on Satanism as a whole and the Satanic philosophy of some of the more outspoken individuals within the movement. You are one of such people.
racism is a conformist belief with its American roots in christianity. It doesn't relate to satanism in any way besides the few people who use this as a platform for political beliefs. Please read Diane Vera's essay on 'Neo-Nazism in Satanism" google for the URL. Her essay explains how racism is inherently opposed to the basic philosophies of Satanism.
it depends on how you sure your ego though... like if its to high or not

the ego is a liar. it does not serve you, or your purpose for being here. grab it by the throat, and choke it into submission.

Nice video. I agree, ego is good in moderation. The ego protects one from being violated by others who would impose their will in a destructive way.

we all have egos, most choose to down play it instead of embracing it.
