Randy was, without a doubt, one truly great MMA fighter, one of the best. Considering his age, and the number of times he came back from defeat, simply unbelievable.
However, Fedor is a near-perfect fighter. A monster. He's got the weopons to beat any kind of opponent. He'd beat Randy nine times out of ten, in a ring or octogon.
Randy was my favorite UFC fighter, and Fedor was my favorite fighter in Pride. Both were always impressive, entertaining (and scary as hell) in the ring, and humble outside of it. The two of them in the same ring would have been one hell of a fight.
Not to take anything away from Fedor, but stylistically speaking he's never faced someone like Randy Couture. Matt Linland would be the closest match, and in that fight Lindland had Fedor clinched and nearly taken down when he restorted to GRABBING THE ROPES to reverse the takedown. IMO, they should've been stood back up since he used an illegal move to reverse the takedown. Randy is superior to Matt Linland & better than Fedor.

Whoa, hold on a sec, Pride fighters took over?? The only Pride fighter who had a good reputation in Pride and did well in the UFC was Rampage. Hendo: 2-2, Wand: 1-2, Shogun: 1-1, Mirko 1-2. Big Nog might have won an 'interim' title, but he got beat bad by Mir. That being said, Fedor is other-worldly. He couldn't prove much by going into the UFC except make Dana White shut up, I personally think a cage would make him more deadly.

There is a lot of talk about who would win between Fedor and Randy. If you understand mma and pay attention to the 2 different styles of fighters that they are you would know that Fedor has a higher percentage chance of beating Randy. At this point in couture's career being his age Lesnar has a higher percent chance of beating Randy. Randy was, without a doubt, one truly great MMA fighter, one of the best. Considering his age, and the number of times he came back from defeat, simply unbelievable.
However, Fedor is a near-perfect fighter. A monster. He's got the weopons to beat any kind of opponent. He'd beat Randy nine times out of ten, in a ring or octogon.

Randy was my favorite UFC fighter, and Fedor was my favorite fighter in Pride. Both were always impressive, entertaining (and scary as hell) in the ring, and humble outside of it. The two of them in the same ring would have been one hell of a fight.

Not to take anything away from Fedor, but stylistically speaking he's never faced someone like Randy Couture. Matt Linland would be the closest match, and in that fight Lindland had Fedor clinched and nearly taken down when he restorted to GRABBING THE ROPES to reverse the takedown. IMO, they should've been stood back up since he used an illegal move to reverse the takedown. Randy is superior to Matt Linland & better than Fedor.
