Mandarin Fish feeding

I would love to get a Mandarin but I heard unless you have a well established (1 year and older) large tank with lots and lots of live rock, it will slowly starve to death.

@babajo124 just so you know they are not actualy gobies there full name is mandarin dragonets or green/blue mandarins

nice i just got an order in a 1 of these came free in that i didnt order i cant wait tell i can turn the lights on its sucha beautiful fish r they very hard to keep alive i have lots of little bugs and a whole bottle of live copodes i dumed in the tank about a month ago and can see them in the rocks every now and then should he be fine or should i get another bottle for him?

easy to keep or is it something you need lots decor for and all that ?

@WestbourneStudios they are easy to keep if you can train them to eat frozen food or flake that is the reason most die if you have a 55 gallon tank with 50 Lb of established rock with lots of copepods you can have one or two no problem but like a 30 gallon cant sustain the food so you need to train them to eat frozen or flake hope this helps

@manta965 I have a mandarin just like this one and I think it's dying. :(

It barely eats. But every time I feed my fish, all the other fish would have gotten to the food before the mandarin gets to it. You have any tips?

@megamunchit2008 eather seperate it or get a turky baster and feed it like you would a coral or put up a barier to keep the other fish away

@Tempdoom Found out over feeding can kill your fish. That's what I did, I put to much food in my tank and it polluted the water. I'm so sad about it... Over $1,000 invested down the drain and life died by my hands over a stupid mistake. :(
