  • Thats gonna shatter the horses legs.. i totally agree with MiaenMia x

  • I have been riding the border common ridings for over 30 years and have never had a horse injured

or even seen a horse injured at this event it is overseen by the SSPCA (Scottish Society for the Prevention of cruelty to Animals)who take great care in making sure all the horses are properly treated

  • Have you seen each individual horse the next day when their legs are swollen and full of fluid? The horses aren't badly treated, just I don't think its a good idea to do that.

  • Yes i have and i have had no problems nor have any of my friends. The total distance for the canter is about 500 yards and is the only part of the 4 hour ride that is on tarmac . I love my horses and wouldnt dream of doing anything which may harm them and i can assure you they need no encouragement when it comes to that last canter

  • Fair enough. I just wanted to say that it is never a good idea to canter on tarmac as it musn't be very comfortable for the horses, it's easy to slip, and CAN make their legs swollen. Thank you.

  • POOR HORSES !!!!!

    Omg !!

    On tarmac !

  • Been there, and seen it , very nice
