Honestly more than half of the guitarists out there haven't performed yet, and are pretty darn nervous about just standing still on stage, looking like a statue. And if their idol, Paul Gilbert, tells them they should do this, they practice it, get over their fears and have a ball on stage.

you do know that nowadays gilbert is a pop and blues (it's true) guitarist? also they regularly (albeit not I enough, that much I do agree on) blues and country styled players.

I also disagree completely. The guy with a guitar playing in his bedroom for himself or for his girlfriend is also a real musician. Anyone, playing music on an instrument is a musician to an extent.

I agree that that's indeed the beauty of youtube. Also guitar world is the only magazine they sell here (well they have another one which is basically gibson sponsored). Plus I don't buy it anyway. I read it other places when there's nothing better to read ;)
