Close the blinds and turn on the light in the room, the fish eye lens on the Nyko Zoom is picking up the light coming in the window and that's why it can't see you, you would have not had that problem before you got the Nyko Zoom because the Kinect does not have fish eye lens. That would explain why you could played it the NIGHT(lights on, blinds closed) you got the Nyko Zoom :)
Also you put the Nyko Zoom on wrong at 01:22 front goes on first then you push the back on.
I dont get why they didnt make the kinect better in the first place. I just gave this to my dad for his birthday. And single player is fine and almost perfect. (Sometimes the couch is in the way. But two players that require you to move, forget it. I dont know why microsoft didnt catch this in testing or they probably did. But why they didnt just continue to work on it till they got it working on a smaller range. Maybe wait till Xbox 720? I dont know.
My Zoom for kinect is terrible. I've followed all manuals, tried all angles, tried above TV, below TV, and the only effect I get is to get unrecognized 50% of the time. The game performance is poor, unresponsive. This product is a downgrade to my kinect sensor. Even in a confined one-step-size playing area without your product is 100% better to play than with it. I'ts easier to play with my back stick to the wall than with zoom attached to it. That produt just makes kinect stupid.
Did you try with more light in the room? That looks like any camera with zoom, they need more light to works when you are using zoom. Look like your light comes form the back part (in front of the kinect) and probably you would need a light to illuminate you. Of copurse you kniect works great without light, but you are adding a zoom and more lens that make it darker ;-)
I just bought one and it's a dream come true. Sorry your having problems I also looked at reviews and tips for it and it turns out it has to be BELOW your tv and it can't be higher than 4 feet above the ground it says that right in the instructions. Try that hopefully you still have it
@Shymwow I did try putting the Kinect below the TV. Still didn't work. I never had any issues with my Kinect without the Zoom above the TV. The only issue was it wants me to be a friggin' football field away from the TV.
If you noticed in the video, The camera was working great when I was trying to calibrate, but the the box in the bottom right of the screen, that shows what the infrared array is seeing, was totally black. So I had no body tracking.
I never could get the dumb face card to make my Kinect calibrate...ever. My guess on the fact you could get it to calibrate at night probably means the glaring light beside you might be messing up the iris on the sensor...just a guess.
@rsb410 Even with the window right next to the TV, I never had any issues with the Kinect seeing me, or calibrating with the card. The Zoom does have the fisheye effect on the Kinect's camera, but it completely screws up the infrared array, which is what actually tracks your movements

@mrfuzzer1 - they would have had to make a call on precision vs price.

Glad you were one of the few it worked for.
