these are crap i got one the wheel was broken the welding must have been done by a 6 year old. The engine blew after  2 months of little rideing. I can keep going the wireing was bad the battery was sulfated the plastic broke off brakes never worked eletric start was broken and the handle bar broke off the onely thing that worked was the 2 dollar charge controllar it came with. BTW I don't abuse my stuff i rebuilt it from the frame useing its parts. and it still has tons of problems. STAY AWAY!

I have one of these, its not worth it. even when the battery is charged the electric starter will only hot start the engine. Ive had it for 2 weeks and the carb broke twice and the transmission sprocket fell off twice because the crappy clip that was holding it on broke.

you have to loosen the rear wheel and brake assembly and there are these eye bolts or whatever you call them that kinda pull back the wheel if you tighten them equally on both sides. if you actually own the scooter you will know what im talking about. then you just tighten the wheel and everything back up and you should be good to go.

Hey, What maintenance do you have to do on this scooter? Also does the electric start work well, and does the battery re-charge its self when the scooter is running?

the maintenance is kinda hard to do. changing tires is absolutely ridiculous and the electric start works well only if your battery is charged. and yes the engine charges the battery while its running. but dont count on it to charge it fully.

I originally wanted the bottom port exhaust. But they shipped me the wrong one (the side port) so i just kept it. I have side port exhaust. ans yea the air filter and v-stack is a good upgrade for the $.

just to make sure is the fuel ratio 32:1 out of box? reason is that i just got rid of a motor scooter because the engine crapped out from different combinations of oil. one day someone told me to use 32:1 the next someone told me to use 50:1. it ran fine until oil unexpectedly started leaking out of the head

Hey...I'm hoping to get one. Actually, two of them. How reliable is the xg-470 right outta the box? How much weight can they take? I wanted to buy one for my bro and he weighs 275lbs. The specs on the webpage say it can hold up to 320...but I know that means it will go slower. How much slower? Can this be used to travel five miles a day to and from school? Help!!!

i guess there reliable. i had one since august '07 and when i got it it was slightly used, no major problems. one of my friends is like 230lbs i let him ride it, i just had to adjust the carburetor to run more rich so you can get up to speed faster. he wouldnt go much slower. i think. but idk. the only problems ive had were chain getting lose (easy fix) and the battery randomly dieing. im going to remove it soon though. yea id use it to go 5 miles to and from school. it only goes like 25outofbox

as long as you mix the fuel right you really shouldnt have any problems. in case your wondering the mix ratio is i think 20:1 im not 100% sure though i havent mixed fuel for it in like 6 months. dont do until you know what the ratio is, if you get it wrong it can damage the engine badly. i modded mine it goes like 36 now. but i spent over 150$ doing so. but yea it can be used to travel to and from school. it has lights and everything but its not like a moped that goes really fast.

I shit sorry I accidentally hit remove comment instead of reply. dammit. but with these scooter engines you have to mix the fuel. you have to get 2 stroke oil no ash formula and mix it in with the gas. 32 to 1 I think its 8oz. oil per 1 gallon of gasoline. I'll be able to tell you for sure what the ratio is in about one week. these scooters have to be taken care of though. they don't like abuse. if you ride them almost everyday then you should check bolts and chain tension about twice a month.

Hi! Thanks for all the scooter help! I just bought one too and I follow the instructions together, but I seemed to have a couple extra parts. A post with a triangular end that has 3 holes for screws and a long black spring. Any idea what they go to? I don't wanna start it up and break it on the first go. :/

Well, sorry for the useless posts. I discovered what the long spring is for. It evidently goes on the fuel lines (I assume to protect it from heat and such). Thanks for all the posts on your vid! They've been very helpful!

on the carburetor, there is a flat tip screw (its brass colored) use a screw driver and...

1. turn it clockwise to make it run leaner.

a lean condition is where there is more air than fuel.

(this can severly damage you engine if you make it run too lean) it will run extreemly hot.

or..

2. turn it counter clockwise to make it run richer. (rich conditon is where there is more fuel than air) what you want is in between.

BE EXTEEMLY CAREFUL WHEN DOING THIS YOU CAN DESTROY YOU ENGINE!!

also if you adjust it to run to rich you will burn too much fuel , and to engine will run to cool which can cause premature cylinder wearing. which can lead to engine damage.
