  • @UltimateSurvivalMan Johnny said 'to the swamps of Okefenokee" in the south east around GA. and FLA.

  • we were blessed with this man Johnny Cash I say, he sang with all heart and loved this country to his last day.. RIP Mr Cash..thank you for your wonderful music.. God Bless the Cash family...

  • I regret this song is always CENSORED. Both of Woody Guthrie's verses below are mostly unknown. But...is it any wonder why? "As I was walkin' - I saw a sign there And that sign said - no tresspassin' But on the other side .... it didn't say nothin! Now that side was made for you and me!" "In the squares of the city - In the shadow of the steeple Near the relief office - I see my people And some are grumblin' and some are wonderin' If this land's still made for you and me."
  • Amen

  • What do he say: To the swaps in ....... ?

  • Amazing delivery from The Man in Black. Cash 'live' was as good as it gets. That voice combined with a dynamic charisma, professional stagecraft and electric magnetism all contributed to making JR one of the fist international superstars of the rock era - yes the rock era. Cash transcends boundaries, and the magic of YouTube will enable fans to remember Cash forever. R.I.P JR, Waylon & Marty Robbins.

  • I remember this show. I was had just turned 15 and remember sitting on my piano bench watching this on tv with tears rolling down my cheeks at the beauty of his voice and this song.

  • Beautiful Country

  • Great idea RasputinSir– lets have politicians, the most corrupt group of individuals in the country (that is a fact btw, not opinion) regulate businesses. Its like being upset with your dogs bothering the hens so you hire a fox to guard the hen house.

btw do you even know who Rasputin was? And if so, why on earth would you take such a name...

  • us pink europeans travel & live in other nations

but we complain when they come to our nation because they are black or brown .

i am no racist but black people do tell pink european people about the british empire and pink people turn nasty at other pink people .

black people have been known to bully pink people and when the pink person gets angry then the black person laughs out loud but the nasty pink people do fight the pink victim .

by black i mean origin from the african continent .

  • @ukgreaterlondon Pink? are u fucking serious? u so ashamed to be white u call yourself pink? Man fuck what those niggers think, Just because you are white doesn't mean u can't have pride and not be called a racist. Just remember blacks are human too they bleed just as we do punch that fucker in his big lipped mouth for pissing u off. don't let yourself be walked on take a stand and stand up for yourself and what u believe in. Violence fucking rules!

  • I love the way Johnny's voice has that echo in all his songs.

  • They bomb too much. The Americans!

    I do not like them.

  • @bernalyckan yeah because every single American has one thing in mind, and thats bombing right? We're all greedy and racist for sure.

  • Cash RIP. A man of humility, flaws and genuine justice.

  • IT IS PATRIOTIC ,,TO WANT TO CONTROL THE INDUSTRIES & BUSINESSES IN THIS COUNTRY,THEY NEED TO BE TOLD NOT TO POLLUTE THE AIR ,WATER &LAND BECAUSE AT HEART WHEN THEY GET TO BIG THEY GET TOO GREEDY&CARE FOR NOTHING &NO ONE.

  • @RasputinSir I agree with you, but it is not necessary to yell your truth.

  • @RasputinSir Perhaps instead the government should control you because you eat and shit too much. Just a thought.

  • @RasputinSir That is not what the song is saying, you need to really listen to it.

  • It ain't no accident his initials are JC. :D

  • @campaz83 that should be known to every johny cash fan- nice one man

  • who cares nothing wrong is with a little socialism its better than having full on capitalism then the banks own everything and johnny cash is a good man so shut your traps haters stop drinking your haterade or ill ram it up your bunghole

  • DOES THIS MEAN THAT JOHNNY IS NOT A PATRIOT?

  • Who gave this a thumbs down? You can leave now!

  • AMERICUHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Aaaaaaaa

  • great song

  • Thanks Johnny for this and God bless America. A country that is able to correct wrongs and is a beacon of freedom. We now have what we deserve because we left this reverence for America and God behind with Johnny's generation.

  • Someone Please tell me how to get this off of my main YouTube page on my iPhone!!!!!!!!!!

  • GOD BLESS AMERICA !

  • @rarehunter021 people are ALSO forgetting that America used to be full of indians, and then we killed them all and took their land. Technically this is their land, but we just stole it.

  • You are my sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me happy when skies are grey.

    Think about it,.....

  • Darn, he would have been a great politician. You just can't help but listen to him, and he genuinely loved America. God bless America and all those who seek life, liberty, and happiness.

  • Happy 4th of July! And Happy Birthday America!

  • I just realized: Everyone is missing the importance of this songs words.

Regardless of race, gender, and religion, we must come together as a nation. We fight each other of the stupidest things when we should be coming up with ideas to fix our problems. We have completely lost touch with why this nation was founded in the ashes of war, and fight because someone has a different skin color, or a different lifestyle, or even a different weight. And what do we accomplish with that?

  • its a good song for it to really b about everyone & their individuality to b as one

  • What is Islam ?! Open site : islam-guide

  • A song of how great this land use to be, preformed by one of the greatest legends in folk/country music. Listen and remember how beautiful this country was.

  • @MrYdomano Why do you bother to try and convert those who don't want anything to do with religon. Not to bash the Christian faith, but the world would be a hell of a better place is morons didn't go pushing this kind of stuff on to other people like they have some desire to control others lives.

  • This song is so awesome!

  • Jonny Cash a god among men

  • @MrYdomano Well how is age related to being wise?, age is irrelevant to knowledge as proven by many in our society. Again, the Bible just isn't factual, as i said, it's based on hearsay and has been edited multiple times throughout history there is also no outside sources for any of the miracles in the book. You also have to acknowledge the other claims that others Gods exist, what makes your God true and all other gods false?, why isn't Zeus, Thor or Shiva your God of choice?

  • WTF?

  • DUDE I THOUGHT HE WAS DEAD!!

  • Johnny Cash? I approve.

  • "from california....to the new york islands.......from the gulf stream warterss....."

  • wow so funny

  • God Bless America.

  • @MrYdomano What book in particular would you like me to read?, and i don't speak German.

  • It sure is our land. That is, if we're all Native American, which we're not. WE just came over and killed a bunch of 'em then called it our land.

That's reality. I hate it myself.

  • @MrYdomano The Bible is not proof of anything, it's just a heavy editing book of hearsay, there is no outside evidence to show proof of anything significant. You also have other books that also say the same thing, worship there God for he is the way to save yourself and on top of thousands of different denominations all believing something different etc. But again, there is no actual evidence to prove any of it. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

  • A People's History of The United States by Howard Zinn

  • This land is my land, this land is your land. Too bad it's not all together true

  • Hibbing, Minnesota. Home of Bob Dylan.

  • Oh my god that my friends is a real American.

Now let's all send this to all politicians specially Republicans that want to take away and privatize everything so their friends running those business make millions on something that was giving to all of US.

HAPPY 4th to all of you.

  • @newnoldschoolgaming Rupublicans are the true Americans and believe in freedom. This includes a free market. want you want is Socialist (non-americans).

  • Best country in the whole damn world! All you naysayers can shove it

  • Happy 4th of july !!!!!!!

  • Don't love the government or the system. But I love America

  • Praise the Lord!

  • This is a beautiful country, and it's up to us to keep it beautiful. Happy 4th America

  • Happy 4th of July!

  • Happy 4th of july everyone hope you have a good one and god bless :)

  • @ wwee So u think woody wAs a communist?

  • Happy 4th everyone.

  • haha funny woody was a communist i believe

  • Fight for your freedom.

  • Happy 4th. and sorry native americans

  • @uhhh54321 you shouldn't be sorry for the bullshit your ancestors committed. I'm Australian and feel the same way with aboriginals here. Your country never ceases to amaze me (mostly with retarded nonsense, yet some however are good :P). Whenever i hear this song i feel weirdly patriotic because I'm not American but oh well it's a great song.

  • It's so sappy :P

  • Johnny is the original man in black

  • damn shame the irony of this song was lost. johny got it though, i know he did...

    /drunk

  • what happened to music like that :/

  • @tman383

all the talented musicians died... that and 'professional' song writers who lost their inspiration years ago (or never had any) began writing music. it's how we went from awesome talent like Johnny Cash to whiny voices little bitches like Justin Bieber.

  • @korriken Hey, now, there are some good songwriters left. Mike Patton, Maynard James Keenan, Buzz Osborne, Tomas Kalnoky, and Trey Spruance are good examples of songwriters with artistic integrity who haven't been killed off or sold out.

  • @korriken I just think mainsteam music has moved to crap and the more humble more talented music hides in the shadows

  • I JUST HOPE WE CAN GET THIS DEBT THING SORTED OUT

  • This is actually NOT a patriotic song. It is a protest song to capitalism.

  • @xgmb45 What is more patriotic than protesting capitalism run amok? Our founders and greatest historical leaders were always suspicious of tyranny and corporations both. Standing up against concentrated power is exactly what our founders expected from us as citizens. I love this song

  • @xgmb45 Sort of. It's just saying that we are all equals regardless of wealth.

  • @xgmb45 that is a hilariously sophmoric and banal understanding of the song. Its a completely patriotic celebration of this land and the American people who have built the greatest freedom loving country in the world here. Don't be so naive. Woody Guthrie was an American Patriot and this is a most patriotic song.

  • @xgmb45 Why you suppose that a protest-song against capitalism can not be a patriotic song?. To much propaganda mixing capitalism with being a good American.

  • @xgmb45 , I think it's a song meant to help us appreciate what we have. Maybe a warning too, to not screw it up.

  • @xgmb45

And you would argue that a song cannot -both- be a protest against rampant capitalism AND patriotic?

That's one big fucking lolwut right there.

  • @xgmb45 wait, capitalism or communism? the US is capitalist

  • @xgmb45

That's right, good point. I guess it's natural to interpret something to mean something that's particularly meaningful to oneself. Still, it's original meaning treats more profoundly human themes than patriotism can ever be.

  • @xgmb45 You are so wrong, this is a patriotic song. One of the best patriotic songs that has ever been written

  • اللعنة أمريكا

  • The more hatred I see for America, the prouder I become. Everyone envies what they dont have. I have America, and all these lovely opportunities. We Americans have a good thing going here. Everyone else is simply jealous. Proud to be an American!

  • @Edcastaneda1 Most people that have jobs and homes would tend to agree with you. I also am proud of many things our country does. Do those who are unhappy still deserve a voice? The Constitution provides and protects the right for the people to voice their concerns.

  • Im Gay!

  • @kzfive Me too! :D

  • one word, LEGEND

  • johnny, you are so missed.

  • what a beautiful country we have *sheds tear*

  • Jonny Cash Is my friends great uncle she looks just like him

  • yes, God bless America and all that is good with it which far outweighs the bad.

  • In the squares of the city, In the shadow of a steeple; By the relief office, I'd seen my people. As they stood there hungry, I stood there asking, Is this land made for you and me?

  • There was a big high wall there that tried to stop me; Sign was painted, it said private property; But on the back side it didn't say nothing; This land was made for you and me.

  • what a great song for July 4th - God Bless America and God Bless Johnny Cash

  • @IAwkwardSilence Hey Hemorrhoid, it's called sarcasm. We all talk about being so proud to be an American, but forget about the people who were the real natives of this country.

  • this isnt a patriot song its a protest song..its a song of socialist/anarchy..a song of community caring for one another and the whole world..not trying to hate people all around the world..trying to survive with each other..sharing the world and working together not exploiting each other..now its not made for u and me..this land is property of the kats who make 200k an hour..who exploit us and the world for money..who back wars to make money

  • Hell, anyone who knows the smallest bit about Johnny Cash, knows that he stood up for the native Americans plight, he released a album in 1964 called bitter tears, I suggest those who obviously dont have a clue of the man listen to some of the songs on that album.

  • @TRANSAM19777 He was one of the few to do so, as well. It was pretty unfashionable in 1964 for a white man to do such a thing. Johnny was well ahead of everyone.

  • @bartonim Very true he did stand up for alot of people that alot of Americans forgot,

  • Arizona: This land is NOT your land, This land is OUR land.

  • I think the Indians had a heck of a nerve being on our land before we got here.

  • Singer with big S :)

  • @devdude75 wow this is so unexpected. im so honored. i am now officially the biggest asshole on youtube. thank you

  • Johnny Cash had a great career, but then he died. It all went downhill from there...

  • @mariondabarbarian24 why is this funny? He's a legend something you'll never be.

  • @mariondabarbarian24 lol, he is

  • this makes me realize how much i love canada xD

  • Go like nd comment myy videoos no rude comments plzz thx <3

  • America FTW!

  • all i care about is that this was sung in '69

    hehehehe

  • Dear youtube,

A johnny cash video has a dislike bar. Fix this.

  • was your land! now its ours. but now we are giving it away to a bunce of spain/mexican half breeds. and anyone that can get a baby born here.

  • this isnt music! listennn to blood on the dance floor!

  • @dchains I don't "think" my Gosh exist. I KNOW he does! :D

  • this song has dislikes? whaaaaaaaaaat!?!??!?!

  • Proud to be an American<3 thumbs up if you are too!

  • @cheer56781 From a Canadian to my American friends: Happy 4th! Johnny does the Guthrie song supreme justice. Also, this song says more about America than all of the jingoistic stuff we usually hear. Woody sang for the common folk, the hard-working people. Johnny took the song and gave it new life. A perfect pair!

  • @cheer56781 I hate America.

  • @RazorBladek2 DA HELL U MEEN U HATE DA'MERICA! WE HAV DA BEST EDUMAKASHUN CYSTEM IN DA WURLD!

  • @xgmb45 Point proven.

  • @RazorBladek2 it was sarcasm. Learn it. Love it.

  • @xgmb45 I know, it was funny.

  • @cheer56781 i'm a SGT in JROTC :D

  • @cheer56781 (this is not a patriotic song)

  • @Etrajbe Uh YEAH it is.....

  • @cheer56781 No, its not. Look it up, broskil.

  • The indians did not own this land. God gave us this earth to have power over, all men to have power over. And we fought and many men died so you could have a home today, and you want to give it back therefor sying those men died for nothing?

  • @Kimdreamdesign It's creepy you think Gods exist.

  • @dchains Ya know, I dont 'think' that God exists, I KNOW because of my PERSONAL ENCOUNTERS with him.

  • @cheer56781 Can you name one? I just want to hear about a specific personal encounter.

  • @Smiley28064212 A few weeks ago at church camp at service, every single person was filled with the Holy Spirit and was speaking in tongues. I couldnt stop crying. It was an incredible experience.

  • @cheer56781 bullshit fuck god he isnt real, you have no hard evidence, i can say that exact same thing. Your lying.

  • @onetwothree374 Ask any other Christian about their encounters wiith God. I can assure you he is real and i'm not lying. Believe what you want, but I have my experiences, and NO ONE can take that from me :)

  • @cheer56781 What is speaking in tongues? Just curious?

  • @TheBostonCeltic Its when the Holy Spirit fills you and it enables you to speak in another language (you dont even know what the heck your saying) and in some cases God enables another person to know what your saying. Its really cool

  • @cheer56781

    D:

  • @cheer56781 Do you know what language?

  • @cheer56781 You've had personal encounters with a God?, there's medications for that.

  • @dchains I wonder every day why they let sore ass fools like you use the internet.

  • @shadowzard7 Because your God spoke to me and told me i told. lolol

  • @dchains You think your comment that makes no sense affects me? And do you really think that no matter what you say to me at the end of the day i dont just feel sorry for you? At the end of the day Im happier, I know whats right, and i can talk about it with mature and concrete reasoning.

Oh, you say you talked to him? Cool Im glad you got to chat. :)

  • @shadowzard7 What is you evidence your your particular God?

  • @dchains I dont have evidence personally, at least not that i can share with you. Though you dont have evidence against either. And really, I dont care about evidence. Life is too short not to believe in god. It doesnt affect me negatively, and I just dont like the idea that it all ends when you die. (not that if im wrong ill get to complain about it or anything, ha) just my stance

  • @shadowzard7 Well it's not the disbeliever that needs to disprove it's existence, if someone claims something to be true and real then they must provide reasonable evidence for there claim. If a belief in a God or whatever else helps you then that's fine, i only hate when other peoples beliefs impact other peoples lives(which happens often).

Also i enjoy the idea that after we die it all ends, it allows us to realize how precious it is just to be alive.

  • This is our country. Not the free loading Indians that want no taxes but want to suck our services free. Welfare and social security

  • If you say we stole this land then leave this land cus I ain't giving it back! I Promise we won't miss you.

  • I like how you all are saying this land is stolen....

The native americans never "owned" America, they just lived there. This is because they didn't believe land could be owned, and I think they were right, how can you claim a piece of this earth?

You do not own America, you just live there.

  • Great song, God bless America!!!

  • Unlike /most/ everyone else, I came here because I like /good/ music, and that means you, Johnny.

  • @LadyeXo What does /this/ mean?

  • @NutritiouslyHigh It's emphasis (italicization).

  • @NutritiouslyHigh It's accenting the word. So if said, it'd be like "I came here because I like GOOD music". It's as close as I can get to italicized words.

  • This land was their land, but then we stole it, from California, to the Atlantic.

  • @WillComment0nYourVid Wow that was exstremly sexy

  • lmao this isn't your land, this is the land of the native American Tribes.

  • This video is nostalgic. :')

  • Why do some people bother listening to Johnny Cash and to this song if they hate it all so much? It's just as easy to search on You Tube for postings by America haters so why not just go there and wallow in that mud? Happy Fourth of July to those of you who understand why we celebrate. And to those who don't....listen to the words of the songs that are being sung this weekend and then go do some reading. The Declaration of Independence is a good place to start.

  • if the British government, not the protestant Christians, attempted to settle in america in its first years. there would have been wholesale slaughter of the native Americans. yes at times there was war between the settlers and natives. but it was usually due to accidental things like bringing in foreign diseases, and the natives thought they were being cursed.

for the most part they tried to make peace....something the Brits would have never cared for.

  • @Bingo1059 America did nothing good...

  • I think America is a good country but the government is messing it up.a

  • Had it not been for the imperialistic policies of the US government , America would have been the most loved country in the world . I still love the american people (not the government ) , the ones who have helped my country so much .

    Love from Pakistan :)

  • @salmanpakipaki i agree, I am an American, and i think our government is very corrupt. maybe not in its conception, but it grew that way. its sad to think what could have been if the power and money had not effected our growth. its nice to know that not everyone hates us though :)

    peace and love from Ohio

  • So, Billy Ray likes Johnny Cash? I have a new found respect for him (Cyrus, not Cash).

  • Support the ones who defend out country this fourth.
