  • 2:16 total waste of money buying that tank, ..wonder why small town departments are bankrupt

  • @TommyChevyBugle Total waste of money, you sure of that?Do you know the response district and call volume, and call types of this department? And this rig was new in 2002 or 03,it's 2012 now and this department is still in business, and this rig is still in-service.

  • thats awesome

  • Did u film the ford uility?

  • put one of these on your new pierce! hook it up to a floor pedal

  • My left ear enjoyed this :)

  • @FalloutZombie2010 Then cut your right off

  • I love this. how did you do this? and by that, i mean, have such a fukin great video?

  • @rocketman5989 Back then I knew at least a few companies were blowing sirens and horns as they left for home,so I just started recording. And I lucked into getting this beautiful-ness.

  • its all fun and games until u gotta climb on the truck and start replacing all those lights lol

  • Love the fully loaded MX7000!

  • @DanielsSFD Me too.II'll take an MX7000 with halogen 360's,intersection sweeps and an LED lower tier versus an all LED bar of today.

  • @fmartinjr

    AMEN, HANDS DOWN!

  • listen to that 6-71 detroit rumble

  • TLDR

  • @seanm028 Whats that?

  • @fmartinjr It means "to long, didn't read"

  • LOL

  • nice!!! awesome horn too, but the vid was a bit too long

  • @superkinze Well this was from a the awards ceremony and my video tape of this is actually longer. But yes,it is lengthy.

  • we put train horns on our heavy resq here in denver colo people move real fast out of our way it almost beats the growler

  • I too was thinking about lending my town's fire station my Nathan Airchime K3LA, I would be the supply for the air tank and compressor, valves, pulley handle and mounting brackets. I more than likely will, train horns on any fire truck = people getting out of the way and fast!

  • @bnsf4 that would be awesome.Nothing like train horns on fire trucks-especially a Rescue or Ladder truck.

  • @fmartinjr haha yeahh, Tiller 1 for my town is one heck of an LED light show!

  • A Nathan Airchime P5 on a 2005 Pierce Quantum.

  • holy hell, it's a Nathan AirChime P5 (new cast). When I saw "train horn on a heavy rescue" I was expecting one of those plastic auto zone knock offs, not the real deal. But this isn't the 1st time I've heard of a locomotive horn put on fire apperatus. I heard in PA I forget which town, there's a station with a Nathan AirChime K5LA on their tower. I'd like to see anyone not move out of their way.

  • Nice sounding P5!

  • Wicked. Wicked. Wicked.

    Epic.

  • I love the sound of that v92 fire truck at 3:09

  • A truck that big needs a train horn! Sounds great on it!

  • nice P5

  • that would be good if the screen wasnt messed and making wierd colours!!

  • @Camo00505 Oh snap! Really? This is from my tape camcorder,so it's old and was transferred through a capture device. And for your info it is good.Since you got comments I'll look at your channel to see what you have to offer that's better than mine. Thanks for stopping by.

  • i hear a detroit diesel :D me likeyyy

  • jeez...sounds like 9/11

  • The train horn sounds kinda like Norfolk Southern 8754

  • where is walkersville?

  • @amtrakseptaguy11 Maryland

  • @fmartinjr oh

  • @amtrakseptaguy11 I'm getting ready to head to this event this coming Sunday. The Maryland State Firemen's Convention.

  • That was pretty cool. The horn was drowning out the Q but definitely cool. As for Txfiremedc103 comments about hiring professionals because they're a volunteer company, suck it dude. I know some companies and use to work with a volunteer company that would run circles around your paid departments.

  • LOVE the 2 stroke diesel at 3:10

  • Growing up in Pa I know how you firemen in Maryland know how to over do it but in a good way! It's about the safety of our crews responding especially in heavy traffic!

Sounded awesome!!! When is the convention in OC? I haven't been to that one. I grew up in York Co and pass through Walkersville usually when we head to the OBX. Sounds like I need to stop in there and check it out next time I'm back there.

  • Those train horns sound mean as hell !! Sweet :)

  • Awesome trucks! Not overkill at all

  • WOW A P5!!! SICK!!!

  • Dude txfiremedc103 pull the dick outa ur ass and have some fun if thats wut keeps ur crew happy amd willing to stick around so wut ..... plus it just sounds bitchin

  • Thanks for YOUR opinionated comment.

Here's mine,Overkill or not this department bought what they wanted and needed. If Train horns,6 spinners,Powercall and A pack of "NowandLaters", is what hypes your guys up and keeps them around, and motivates them ,then do it. Eastcoast ,baby.I love rigs from all over, but Eastcoast has the most beautiful sounding and looking rigs.

  • @fmartinjr -- Have you seen the Mt Horeb WI fire vehicles [especially the ambulance] IMHO they are the best looking ones I have seen

  • @1nm1 Yes,pretty impressive rigs.

  • @fmartinjr Hahaha, mount horeb is a very spolied fd.

  • @fdnylover Yeah but it's kool to be spoiled sometimes.Especially if it's for bangin' ass rigs.I'll be 40 years old in a couple years and I still love all the siren, horn and lights like a 10 year old would.

  • @Txfiremedc103 You may think it's overkill, but one good reason a train horn is needed is for gangsters who like to listen to their music at insane levels with massive subwoofers, as well as people who just generally do not pay attention. A train horn is very loud, meaning it's very hard to miss. You'd be surprised how many accidents occur because,"I didn't know it was coming."

  • 5:35 WOW

5:47 "One word for that, Damn!"

    ROFLMAO

    Bet people will move now.

  • You're a fireman?

  • Yes I am

  • I' m making the public contest to be assumed! In Italy..

  • Nathan P5 new cast

  • What is this event?

  • Maryland's Annual State Fireman's Convention

    Held in Ocean City,Md.

  • The horn is either a Nathan P3 or P5. They should put more of these on fire trucks! Maybe people would actually yield!!

  • i think a cruise ship horn would work better

  • and it would cure constipation, too!

  • damn

  • I'm wantin to get a pair of em for my POV really.

  • I love and want that white resuce rig.

  • never mind

  • 3:59 till 4:10, 4:54 till 4:59, 5:36 till 5:49 Check out the video responses and type in walkersville rescue squad in a search. The train horns are in all these spots.

  • OH YEAH!!! That's how you get it done, son :-)

  • Hey Frank from about 3:10-3:20...is that Accokeek, MD's?

  • is this ocean city maryland

  • Yes.When they were still blowing the sirens after the judging and the return trip home.

  • Yes it is.

  • This is one of my favorite videos but i have a question. Was this taken on an old camera, not digital and if so how did you convert it?

  • Yes an old camera.A Sony 8mm tape camcorder I bought in 1999.Videos are converted with Honestech VHS to DVD software.

  • ok!!! thanks sooo much!! i have many hours of film from my old tape recorder that i would love to put on!

  • at 3:17 , those trucks sounded great. i wish that our engine had that kinda growl....

  • its actually at 3 08...about

  • THAT IS AWSOME....

  • That's perfect!...what do people do when they hear a train whistle...they start lookin around to see where it is!...This will def get's peoples attention and tell them to get the hell out of the way!

  • Then good thing it isn't your money

    But thanks for your opinion

  • I agree. Our old ALS 1214 had them, and man, listen to our new one, thats how you get it done, with mean sounding air horns.

  • now thats how you get people out the god dam way HELL YEA the two things that people stop and let go past put into 1

  • Thats one expensive heavy rescue.

  • Outstanding!!!!

  • I would agree it would get the attention of cilvilian traffic.

  • Nathan P5nc!!! Now THAT'S a horn for a municipal rescue/fire truck and /or ambulance - definitely gonna get people to move and recognize the urgency!

  • this is awsome. more trucks and ambulances need them as standard warning equiptment.

  • The Elkridge volunteers in Howard county, Maryland have a Nathan N5a 5 chime (same horn as on Amtrak's old FP40 locomotives)on their squad / heavy rescue truck.

  • N5? Don't you mean K5 or P5?

  • Yes they are louder. All horns would be wicked if they were where they were suppose to be..On the roof!!!!!

  • Horns are supposed to be on the bumper now. It reduces noise in the cabin and increases decibels in front of the apparatus where you need it.

  • I know they are supposed to be IN the bumper of custom fire apparatus.I've been riding fire trucks for 20 years now.My point is that the higher horns are mounted the further they will warn.If the position is in the bumper, the vehicle directly in front of the rig will absorb most of the blast. There for long distance warning is not achieved.

  • no matter where they are mounted its a proven fact, and i will agree myself, you wont hear the apparatus until its about 200 feet behind you...unless of course youre like me and just hold the q pedal down.... :D

  • It would be nice if all firetrucks have train horns on them. I gotta add this to my favorites.

  • But there louder.

  • Nathan P5 baby!

  • The one in pa is shrewsburry fire company, there rescue is called squadzilla

  • That rescue truck with te train horns gets my vote in that contest.

  • For all that i know, there is two big Heavy Rescues in Maryland, one in Pa,and one in Northern Delaware. Those are the ones that i witnessed. The Rescue in Pa has a couple of clips on youtube with the rig responding and they are blasting the hell out of them horns.I'll send it to you when i find it.Thanks for checking me out.

  • Could you send them to me to if possible?

  • I can't believe I finally ran across an emergency vehicle with train horns.5 for that one.
