@mrmidget94 Lar has 0313's (LAV crewman) and 0311's (scouts) there is a few 41's and 51's as well. The boot 13's are usually drivers and after a 1.5-2 years they will be the gunner and near the end of a 4 year enlistment be a VC, the scouts kinda ride around in the back (sleep) until they are asked to get out (scouts out) and see if the coast is clear for the loud vehicles to advance further
well you enjoyed it...and now you wouldve have hated it...when I left back in 08 everyone was fucking each other over. The only ones picking up were the ones cuffing nuts and deep throating. I've met a couple of 1st/3rd LAR marines some have been around since peace times...and they always say how lucky you were to make the decision of leaving with good memories. The Corps isn't what you left it as. More snakes than brothers now...
@lvrpatriot01 why didn't I re-Enlist...I told myself that if I wasn't a Sgt. at my 4 year mark I would not re-Enlist..I was offered SGT. and $5k from the Career planner but after our deployment I would either have to go to the Drill field or SOI school to be an Instructor neither of which really appealed to me, if I could have just stayed with the unit I was with I would have totally done it.
Looking back, I wish I would have stayed in. Those were some of the best times I have ever had, at 22 I thought what I wanted was civilian life now at 32 I miss My Marine life.
I feel the same exact way. I MISS the Marines way of life and will do anything to go back. I was in 96 to 2000. I am now a lineman for a electric utility in northern california. Thanx for the great video. It brought back alot of memories!!!
WELL, 29 palms is still the same, camp schwab is totally differant, is that the essex? been on it twice, horrible ship, anyway, good vid man, 3larbco.
Like I had a choice what unit I was sent to out of SOI , it kinda goes by your last name and where it falls in the alphabet...with that being said , being an FO for for the lav crewman and calling in fire missions from atop a hill a safe distance away is good fun...and when the day is done we get a ride home.
Hey man, I got out in 06... did my fair share of traveling. Your video captures what it means to be brothers. Been out 2 years and those are still my brothers, never forget the men who made you who you are.
this was pretty cool man. I can't wait until my time's up, but i've got a while, i know i'll miss it though. How about you? Did you ever look back and miss it bad enough to re-enlist?
Yeah I started missing it about a year after I got out..but most of my friends were out by then too...If I could go back I would have re-enlisted , I had it made once I picked up CPL.

Terrible this phenomen of mass idiotism among mass murderers. But they are obvisiously proud to be idiots. They even will not understand when they are killed.
I hate to break it to you my friend, but even thought Im not for anti-military rhetoric, being so is the pergative of everyone who lives in this country, so if you cant handle that, then perhaps it is you who should move to a dictatorship, youll fit right in.
im thinking about joining the marines, is training really that hard? i mean im not lazy or anything i have played rugby for over 4 years and 1 of them years being semi professional, msg me plz giv me some advice, are the drill seargants really harsh ha,
first of all dont ever call a DI (Drill Instructor) a Drill Seargant, thats the army. Second training will be 13 weeks of hell. they will b the hardest weeks of your entire life. Good Luck!!!
what kind of question is this. Drill sergeants prepare you mentally. What do you think, they are going to sweet talk to you? :) For that go to Army or something, you have 3 flags to pull when you are stressed out.
Im enlisting next year and was wondering, what exactly does LAR do? how do you get in?
