the bass on the original recording is stevie's left hand rockin a synth bass line. its so funky its absolutely terrifying! nathan watts is such a badass that he took it, put it on a bass guitar, and pulled it all off and then some. go nathan!
Je ne suis pas croyant mais si un dieu existe et qu'il a une voix c'est forcement la sienne qu'il a choisi. Stevie restera jusqu'à mon dernier souffle le plus grand .
There are so many great things to say about Stevie, his music, and this song. Above all, his voice has not faltered one bit over the course of his long and storied career...which cannot be said of most players of his generation.
This is real music. Not music that glorifies using women as punching bags or calling them b's and hoes. In order to date my daughter you have to like this song. If not, then keep walkin'.
the bassist is nathan watts who is stevie wonder's musical director.the drummer is gerry brown who has also played with lionel ritchie and stanley clarke
Stevie oh Stevie oh Stevie!!! This man is a gift from God!!! There are very few that even come close to Stevie and absolutely NONE better!!! I remember reading that when Minnie Ripperton lay wasting away from cancer she listened to Stevie till the end. I think I'd like that too if I had the chance!!!
As usual Stevie is the best! Can anyone tell who the bass player and drummer are,or the whole band for that matter they are all exceptional. If I was king I'd make everyone in the world listen to Stevies' music. Everyone would be better off.
The bassist is Stevie's longtime bass player, Nathan Watts. When Stevie wasn't using the synthesizer bass, Nathan was plucking it! I think his drummer was Dennis Davis.....
Two things happened to me this past Summer of 2008, that I never thought would happen in my lifetime. A ticket to see Stevie Wonder in Vancouver, BC. Fifth row, centre, floor! Then when Golden Lady came on I almost lost it! Golden Lady has always been my favorite of Stevie's. He is one-of-a-kind. A legend!
I wish this wasn't cut from the Natural Wonder CD. This is so amazing and the band solos are sick. I wish companies would release all the good material available from legends like Stevie.

That looks like Herman Jackson on the keys! That guy is a monster player and plays at Red, White, and Bluezz in Pasadena at a jam there sometimes.
Nice guy, great player, can play almost any tune you can name without a chart!
