  • LOVE the bewildered look on his face. Yes, sometimes malfunctions can happen. Sometimes it's user error, sometime the firearm itself or one of it's components is to blame. I found that a majority of the time it's user error that is so blame. Such as utilizing a P.O.S. magazine in a firearm, and then the feed lips being weaker or spaced slightly too far apart allowed a round to popup higher than it was meant to as the bolt was cycling the rounds through.

  • nice gun but dumb question what happened to it?

  • it was the mags fault not the gun

  • the m1a is so much better than an m16,ar15,ar10,r any of that shit i mean big powerful and u can tear a mans leg off if u shoot him in it vs just shooting him in the leg much better round much better gun yes its heavier but if u let ur pussy hurt so muxch don't spend ur money on the real deal stick with the pussy shit

  • @justicerupe AR10 and M1A shoot the same round -____-

  • hell ill take the M1A if you dont want it. been wanting an M14 for a while, but that one looks more like a SOCOM with the short barrel.

  • it looked like you should've shooting at McDonalds rather than down the range, you fat unhappy clown...LOL, JK...try the M1 Garand or Ruger Mini-14, both work better than that piece of crap...

  • I do hope he knows that is an M-14 not an M-1

  • @henrythinks I do hope you know the M1A is the civilian version of the M-14

  • @henrythinks *Facepalm*.

  • @henrythinks -__-

  • if your brass takes the same path or about each time, the gun is ok, if brass flys out ramdon path's check extracter/chamber brush it perhaps, i have mini 14, it's great

  • HAHAH nice face at the end

  • @ChromeKnightCthulhu I do what I can. ALot of people call me a clown.

  • These guns work flawlessly, get it serviced.

  • hey daltexmex, if you dont want it, give it to me.

  • @dantheman167 naw... I think Ill keep it.

  • @daltexmex good call. looks like the scout, right? a hell of a rifle!!! my guess is that what you have going on is one of two things: 1 it's a brand new rifle and needs to be broken in; 2 may not be the best magazine. i have an m1a scout in the ebr stock and have yet to have a malfunction. if the mags you are using are shiny, they are not original equipment. would suggest keeping an eye out for better mags (the parkerized gi/springfield mags).

  • My M1A is flawless. I do not care what anyone says these firearms are outstanding. 98% of the time it is operator error and the firearm gets the blame.

  • @TheEmpiresBurn The M1a is FAR from flawless, especially the newer guns.

I've owned three, and shot M14s in competition, I have a rather large base of experience.

  • Based on the title I was more expecting the recoil to hurt him, until the video started and i saw how big the dude was.

  • Doesn't matter who wins the internet argument. You still end up looking like a loser lol

  • These is alot more that causes feeding issues than a 'hey this gun sucks' problem... I'd spend more time investigating the problem and less time blaming a proven design... IMHO

  • For everyone saying it's a magazine issue, you must be watching something else. You can watch the empty case, rather than ejecting, take a tumble and stay in the bolt's path, which caused the jam.

  • Rock the AK!

  • For everyone spouting off about it being a magazine problem or an ammo problem. You have no way to know from the video. It may be that the gun he got was messed up as well.

  • lawl

  • CHI-COM M1????????????????

  • The problem is with the magazine, NOT THE RIFLE. This is what happens when you have aftermarket mags. I had the same thing happen to me. M1A is one of the most durable, reliable weapons on the planet, next to the AK.

  • @codetwohigh The M14 is certainly a reliable rifle, but from owning and shooting both, the M14 is not near the reliability of the AK.

  • this boy likes shit surplus ammo. and has never heard the word, hoppes gun bore cleaner or oil. or is just plain shit for brains,

  • M1a is not a M14 folks, its not milspec, springfield uses cast actions while the milspec is forged, and not to mention the barrel is not chromelinned while the milspec was and was of higher quality using 4150 steel, the m1a is 4140 steel, in germany they call the springfield armorys "eiche ben junk" for its high price and low quality use of materials.

  • @1980sSportsMan people have been bitching over the forged vs cast argument for a stupid-long time. Any m1a failures you will ever see are going to be because of human error, not failures with the material. Period. The US has purist who only believe in "mil-spec" as well, but I've seen plenty "mil-spec" catastrophic failures as well. In every case of firearm malfunction, mil-spec, or just commercial, the failure was human; bad ammo, improper headspace, bad home-reloads...ect.

  • @1980sSportsMan As far as the non-chromelined bore, HK's civilian model of the 416 doesn't have chrome lining, and HK will tell you it's because they care so much for you shooting accuracy, as chrome lining has an adverse effect on accuracy. Thats what German gunmakers are unloading on the US for the bargain price of $1000 MORE than a comparable product that DOESN'T have HK on the side.(HK mr556 msrp=$3100 LWRCi M6A2 msrp=$1900)

  • its beacause its those new manufacturing ones that suck not the original

  • @TheSuperspudnik wrong. .wrong, i just bought a 2011 model and it works fine with AMERICAN AMMO no surplus shit from bosnia. . you get what you pay for.

  • @frezdead1 well i mean some aftermarket ones are bad ammo does play a big roll

  • lmfao..............all semi autos jam.............ne1 that thinks differnt hasnt shot much in there live time...........try shooting 20,000 rounds a year twenty years an see just how reliable ne gun is there all pos.............now weres my lifesaver!!!!!!!!!!! or the plasma ray off 007 golden eye ninten64 now thats a weapon

  • You have an ammo issue not a rifle issue

  • I bought a new M1A Scout last September, but haven't fired it yet. I bought 200 rounds of german military 7.62N rounds and 200 rounds of Winchester .308 rounds. What is the ammunition that is best for this rifle? Military nato or 308 winchester?

  • Ammo with the Nato headstamp is good to use, new factory ammo using 150 gr FMJs are usually OK to use. Hunting ammo can be hard on the gas system due to different bullet weights and powders.

Go to M14forum.com for more info.

  • @hawmanai , about 300 rounds have the Nato target headstamp. 200 rounds say "PPU 308 WIN"

  • @hawmanai your an idiot. that website is for toys. little boy toy airguns. now go away little boy. till you grow up. and get a real rifle..

  • thats a m14

  • @MRpowerlevel9001 m1a is an m14 variant

  • You should edit the description section and tell everyone what happened, why and what you did to remedy the issue so we don't all have to read through a thousand comments to get the story.

  • why the heck does this video have 81,000 views???

  • @jcm729j bro i said the same thing when it was 31,000. and im the one in the video.

  • @daltexmex I watched it because based on the title, i thought it was going to blow up or something.

  • @daltexmex What was this problem caused by? Please say it was the ammunition.

  • @daltexmex This comment makes me happy.

  • @jcm729j u mean 88653 lol

  • @jcm729j the title makes u think a acident is going to happen.

thats why this vid has 90K + views

but this is is nothing more than a random shooting vid.

that why the (dis)like bar looks like darkfader his light saber,.

  • @jcm729j I bet because people thought the gun was going to explode or something. That's why I clicked on it. Plus I love the M14

  • Yeah it didnt look like he put the magazine in properly

  • @08EB08 it all clicked in. it was just a new rifle.

  • Saw the title and thought (hoped) it was going to blow up in his face. Disappointed. Thumbs down.

  • @spikestarwind777 nope im still here. but funny. i would of said same thing if it was me viewing it.

  • @spikestarwind777 You are a fucking asshole.

  • looks like a gas valve issue...maybe bad ammo or needs to be adjusted

  • I always hear people say the gun is picky, but i have shot all sorts of ammo through mine with no problems. i had some feeding issues but they were completely mag related.

  • elm fork?

  • @DallasfuckingTT Yeah I use to be the Range Officer there.

  • I used to have the SOCOM16 version also. I was also having malfunctions with it, so I went to a lot of forums and read that the problem with the SOCOM is the newly designed piston system to accommodate the 16' barrel. I traded it with the more reliable SCOUT with the 18" barrel, which uses the same and proven piston system for the standard 22" barrel M14/M1A. Trade your SOCOM16 for the SCOUT and you'll be satisfied.

  • looked like a magazine malfunction, but I'm no expert, coulda been anything

  • M14 types are excellent rifles, and beautiful to boot if left in their wood stock form. But they're still way too heavy / front heavy, expensive, and hard/expensive to scope, for my taste. My DPMS in .260 will do everything an M14 type will do, and then some -- lighter, faster, MUCH cheaper, more ergonomically, & in a better chambering/ better ballistics (albeit not as prettily or with as much nostalgia). Still, M14 would be my second choice for this sized rifle after my AR10 type, then FAL.

  • range master my ass! he doesn't even know how to properly insert and seat the mag.

  • My M1A shoots like silk and butter combined. It is a fine reliable weapon. It is also a clean, well maintained weapon.

  • The M14/M1A is one of the best and most reliable weapons ever built. A "Range Master" should have enough experience to realize this is the result of operator error. You have one or all of the following: load is too light, ammo is shit, gas valve is clogged/needs adjustment, mag is shit, damaged or you didn't seat it properly. Extractor seems to working fine. Try striping, cleaning and lubing the rifle. If none of this helps, ship it back and tell them you're too stupid to own an M1A

  • @2ndarymotion Hey this rifle is new. or was. It works now/

  • @daltexmex It was a new rifle.

  • @2ndarymotion There's a reason Hornady came out with rounds made specifically for these guns; they're picky.

  • @2ndarymotion ass

  • @2ndarymotion I will thank you for the info.

  • @daltexmex you seem to be a person that can roll with just about any punch

  • @BigJT2010 Bro I have learned to just be happy man. whatever people say on here I just laugh it off. Heck I laugh off just about anything.

  • @daltexmex Well good for you. If only the rest of us could be like that

  • @2ndarymotion full of gun grease

  • @2ndarymotion Yup, run new M1A's sloppy wet with lube till they break in.

  • @2ndarymotion Good info. But that last comment wasnt very nice.

  • @2ndarymotion No, A 'Range Master" is not expected to have expert level knowledge of every weapon and ammunition mix. Even asserting that make you an idiot.

  • @Robbob9933 Yeah, except that everything I mentioned requires BASIC knowledge of the weapon - or any semi-auto rifle for that matter. When you actually know something about the subject matter, then you might try commenting. Thanks for playing.

  • @2ndarymotion I'm proficient on a number of weapon systems not just bullet pushers. I am to the point where I can pickup any personal or "small crew" weapon and employ it. Now you are just a ass troller for contuning to make assumptions about people you never met.

  • @Robbob9933 Physician, heal thyself.

  • @2ndarymotion I'm not entirely sure how striping the weapon will help its functionality.

  • @MsAtheistjesus Seriously? Strip, clean and lube - all of them, together. Proper cleaning and lubrication requires disassembly of the moving parts.

  • @2ndarymotion I think it's a magizine issue.

  • @2ndarymotion I'm not denying the benefit of proper maintenance, but the comment said "striping" which means adding stripes to the weapon, which wont affect its functionality. When being critical of someone, it is a good idea to sound like there's an actual adult sitting at the keyboard.

  • @MsAtheistjesus Get a life.

  • @2ndarymotion You know, I sure would hate to waste anyone's time stating the obvious, but youre a know-it-all asshole. Dont talk to that guy like that- There wasnt a damn thing he did that wasnt safe. He cleared that stove pipe like youre supposed to. But I dont know what IM telling YOU any of this, because clearly you have all the answers.

  • @GarrettGriggs757 Who is the asshole? That would be you. What did I say here that was incorrect? Answer: nothing. Talk about know-it-alls - you fucking idiots, you and Robgobbler couldn't find your ass with two hands and a flashlight. Just because you don't like being told you are wrong, doesn't mean you are right. You are wrong. Now go fuck yourself. Thank you very much.

  • @2ndarymotion Yeah, because holding the action of a weapon open and point down range is unsafe? LOL! You stupid asshole, youre trying to act like you know every single thing about the situation and you werent even there. You know why he said, ' Okay, ill be sure to do that.' ? Because you made a complete jackass out of yourself. Youre the kind of guy that likes to sit around and tell everyone how stupid they are, and you wonder why noone wants to be around you.

  • @GarrettGriggs757 Wow, you really told me. Someday when you actually get to hold a real rifle, instead of a game controller, you can comment. Until then, go back down to the basement where you belong. It is clear you've never been on an actual range or maybe you have, but it certainly wasn't with anybody that knew WTF they were doing. Anybody who does, watches this vid and says "yep, this guy is dangerous and stupid" - like you.

  • @2ndarymotion Ill tell you what, sport. The next time I have a problem with my tv, ill take a picture of it and send it to you, because you clearly know everything. And when you open your mouth to the wrong guy and get your head racked, think about me. Ill be at your house, in your bed and fucking your wife. Wait...im giving you too much credit. You dont have a wife that I can fuck because youre gay. And I was in the marine corps. Anything else, sweetheart?

  • @GarrettGriggs757 No, let me tell you what, Bitch, I CLEARLY DO know more than you do. In the corp, huh? Who's cock were you sucking then? Because it's clear you're sucking cock now. You're not fucking anybody's wife. Maybe somebody's husband? Now go back down to the basement and keep dreaming about being a man someday because it's clear you're a little boy with serious confidence issues. Sorry you can't handle being wrong, but you are, faggot. Dismissed!

  • @2ndarymotion LOL sorry it took me so long to respond; you see, im busy with a full time job and responsibilities that prevent me from coming on to youtube and talking to retards that cant keep their thoughts straight or their mouths shut. Also, do me a favor and tell a marine to their face that they suck cock. Quit talking shit and actually do it. I would say tell me how it goes, but you wont be able to type on a computer. Seriously though, quit talking and do it.

  • @GarrettGriggs757 BTW: as far as nothing unsafe, care to explain WTF that shit was he was doing before firing the weapon - holding the bolt open, etc? You're an idiot.

  • @2ndarymotion You know whats funny? I went toe to toe with some guy like you at a gun shop like 2 weeks ago and he stuttered like a fucking idiot lol. Note, I just said, ' Just like you.'

  • @GarrettGriggs757 You mean Game Stop, right? That's what I thought.

  • We have two springfield M1a loaded,. and we have had several issues with them and had to send them back repeatedly, springfield isnt producing the quality they should be. anymore,.

  • how about u kneel down, open your mouth, and I pis into your mouth, then you bend over and accept my manmeat in your little brown puckerd, quivering asshole...like the bitch that you are...??

  • bullshit you're not a felon! entering the country illegally and collecting welfare and having a DL and handling a firearm as an illegal undocumented alien resident IS a felony!!

  • What the hell was that suppose to mean?

  • @GutpileCharlie what you talking about?

  • Do you have a chamber brush?

  • I've never had that happen on my M1A. I have a scout squad.

  • operator error!

  • @lovejen01 I think it was at first, but then i got her going.

  • who the fuck were s that shit to the range???? I would of shot him just for wearing that..... sorry asshole your bright ass vest with hat to match blinded the fuck out of me Dumb people with guns shoot them self take this mans weapons away hes probably a felon any way

  • @1tebowhater I am the Range Officer Bro that is why I am wearing the hat and teh shirt that color, and no I am not a felon.

  • @daltexmex Hey, dude. Sorry to see all the hate you're getting on this vid.

Anyway, it looks like your having extraction issues. "boricuaDV" channel has some good info on the M1A. If I remember correctly, he said that original M1A extractors were terrible and recommends changing them for USGI ones.

    Regards.

  • @newdefsys I dont mind, It was a new gun. It works alot better now. most of the people giving me these hateful messages dont even own a rifle like that.

  • You look so confused. Listen to these people get new mags and use better ammo. .44mag.com sells good mags for the m1a. Look to see if the mag is properly seated and when it FTFs check to see where the bolt is hanging. I noticed you just cleared the weapon but didn't look to figure out the problem. If your getting stove pipes use ammo with more grain so the gas system will cycle the bolt properly. Just for shits check the gas valve too.

  • All older style US military rifles, (Garand,M-14), require heavy lubrication as opposed to the conventional idea of light lubrication on average firearms.

  • Looks like you have a bad mag, and/or bad ammo.

  • Nice gun! ;D

  • was the clip empty cause i dont think it ejected the round far cuz of that

  • so what happened?

  • its your spring! i think?

  • Springfield Arms Will fix your gun for FREE... DO NOT swap ammo. Make it work right. 150-168 grain ANYTHING. Sorry to reiterate I just hate to see people bashing it and wasting their money and time in frustration. If it was a car in warranty you'd "take it to the dealer". It only likes "bp gas". NO... Springfield has a lifetime warranty! The manual says nothing about only shooting winchester match gold or some crap.

  • most will tell you that the gun will cycle any ammo 100 percent of the time its no finicky fal or AR. No gas adjustment. It will fire anything. There are some problems that springfield (a decent company, not a great one) has been having. Send it back. Mis-aligned gas port has come up a few times. Springfield fixes for free. Don't "try new ammo". that's a cop out. Everything should fire everything (within reason). If it doesn't, broken rifle. Even the FN can be adjusted to fire anything

  • Not to worry its probably not the rifle, its the ammo.Just buy better ammo, those are VERY decent rifles.

  • i dont understand what happened =o did it fail to feed?

  • Although better ammo may be in order, for the amount of money those things cost, they should eat anything you put in them.

  • @bigdogbuc You would think that, but higher quality weapons have tighter tolerances. My friend has a legit FN-FAL and it wont eat cheaper ammo that well... Just a thought if the casings are garbage, the weapon sometimes wont like the stuff... Its kinda like if you owned a NASCAR, would you try and run pump gas through it? You do bring up a good point though.

  • my friend has a socom 16 and he had many many many problems due to cheap ammo. he couldnt even get the rifle sighted in. you just need to get some better ammo, those are great guns!

  • @Catfood311 if they can't fire commercial ammo... they're not great. I say again. If gun is not cycling... send it to springfield. Mine cycles anything. Russian crap.. german crap.. I only shoot crap light loads... never EVER EVER has not cycled when the primer has ignited. probably 1500 rounds of 25-40 cent bullets old stock and reloads from gun shows. I even am shooting the chinese magazines. Took a bit to make em fit, but not they strip clean and fire every time. Free gunsmithing at SA

  • What type of ammo were you using? I have a Socom 2 and found that it loves the German Nato nckel plated stuff, and I havent had a misfeed or jam in over 1000 rds. Also, I concur with the magazines. Are they Springfield Armory mags? The only other ones worth anything are the no BS USGI magines. They'll still run you 40 a pop if you can find them. Dont hate your rifle though, troubleshoot it...

  • Use factory magazines. I had the same problem until I stop using cheaply made or Korean mags....

  • What kind of mags are you using? Unfortunatly ALL aftermarket mags for this gun suck. Trust me ive wasted plenty of money looking for one. Only factory magazines will function reliably and they are expensive.

  • @benzracer man this coming from the guy who just has videos of him taking apart airsoft guns. wow im impressed.

  • @daltexmex saftey stacy...

  • Comment removed

  • @benzracer clownshoe.

  • @benzracer what about my 30-30 that ahs no saftey? i NEVER use my saftey. it can fail like any other part of the gun....keep a round out of the chamber or keep in in a safe direction...i hate when non-gun people comment on gun vids

  • @kainhall DURR then you don't have one. Also, I hate when idiots comment that people are non gun people when they don't know a god damn thing. One, I've been around guns my whole life. Two, I'm a fucking US Marine, dipshit. I've handled more guns than you can probably even dream of.

  • @benzracer after looking at some of your comments on other videos you sure prove to be one. 2, im a Marine and I can tell you that after 3 years so far in the Marine Corps I've handled less guns then I have at my uncles house in 3 hours. even if you are a Marine doesnt mean you've handled anything more then an M4, M-16 Beretta 92 and a 240. I'm sure the guy in witch you have proven yourself worked up over has dreamt about alot moret. I cant wait for your comment proving me right.

  • @maclarn91 If ur a marine why arent u in Iraq helping ur friends ?

  • @TheThizzKid1 1, we arent in Iraq anymore. 2, I've been to afghanistan twice

  • @TheThizzKid1 ur a real piece of shit, bro. accuse the guy who risked his ass for yours MULTIPLE TIMES of abandoning his friends...

u got balls as big as all outdoors when you're behind that keyboard, dontya

  • @maclarn91 semper fi brother

  • @benzracer i have also been around guns. i personaly own a m91/30, 30-30 lever, ruger m77 mark 2, post war 8mm mauser, m1 garand, 270 bolt, 9mm pistol, had an SKS, and have fired many others sutch as a 30-40 kraig, m1911, sharps carbine, black power rifles and pistols, springfeild trap door. m1 carbine, mini-14, so many 22s and shotguns.

i live in montana, think about it.

  • @kainhall i can see you dont use spell checker either

  • @kreeper88 nop, to lazy to copy it into google, corect it, then paste it back...o wiat, i dont care. you forgot that ' on don't!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @daltexmex no you arent

  • just swap the extractor for an U.S.G.I. one, does wonders

  • I have some observations from one M1A owner to another.

    1) At 0:17, Failure to Extract- Several possible causes for this. One is that the brass is not in spec, causing drag on the chamber and the extractor claw to jump the rim (a worn or poorly formed claw face can cause/exerbate this).

    2) The magazine is a part of the gun. Use quality mags (no promag), check feed lips for burs, and inspect spring/follower movement for binding

  • I just don't know why anyone would choose the M1A for ergonomic reasons. The safety absolutely sucks and seating the magazine is also a bitch. Yeah, I'm an AR fanboy, but I have owned both. My primary rifle now is an Armalite AR-10A4 7.62 with a MAGPUL PRS. It's a beast.

  • @raceboy1971 because the M1A/M14 comes from the factory with a scrotum and a 1 year subscription to "big ass titties for real men" magazine. While the AR-10 comes with some French coffee, some hair gel, and fashion tips. :)

  • Russian AK comes with Vodka, Aeroflot tickets, and conscription certificate to Russian Military School.

Soviet Mosin Nagant comes with Soviet Uniform and deployment orders.

    (I had to do it)

  • That rifle functions best with fast burning powder rounds. I've had one for many years without so much as a hiccup. Normally when semiautos jam, the culprit is the magazine. It is a bit hard for me to see the TYPE of malfunction you had, but I would get a smithy to check it. Could be as simple as a machining burr. I have had brand new guns fail from something that didn't get polished right. The Manufacturer should fix it, if it is a new gun, or there is an inherent defect. Good luck.

  • @GunBigotHater Looked like the extractor jumped the case rim.

  • At the beginning of the video it looks like you don't have a round chambered, it would have ejected when you pulled the charging handle, it seemed to run ok after you got a round chambered. The ejection might be a little weak but thats an easy fix.

  • you are shooting american eagle ammo that stuff sucks.I have a polytech m305 and not only did i get 2 miss fires out of 20 rounds, the groups it made with it sucked.

  • buy better ammo dumb shit

  • @Th2EyA0rEa1MoN2gUs you live you learn.

  • @daltexmex then you get luvs.

  • @daltexmex throw away that crap american eagle ammo you go on the table there

  • Your mag is not fully seated, I could see that from the way you tried to insert it. To the retard that thinks this a ruger, umm it's a Springfield!!!

  • @armysapper12b no such thin as fully-seated mag for an m14/m1a. if its not locked on either end(front or back of the top. then it would fall out. You should inspect one and shoot it, break it down and take down to the gas cylinder and you will understand more about the weapon that you are talking about.

  • Ruger rifles suck, and I own a Ruger Mini 14 as well as Ruger 10/22. The mini 14 I shot the flash suppressor off the barrel the first day I had it. If you are thinking of buying a Ruger don't. Buy yourself an SKS or an AK-47 because even the worst AK out there is better than a Ruger rifle in my opinion. I wouldn't even consider going into battle with one cause I would be wondering if the thing is going to work or not when I pull the trigger. Is it going to jam or fail to feed?

  • @coveredinblood1111 It's a Springfield. I wish you retarded AK lovers would get a life...Who say's "going to battle" that's right someone that has never been. I have been on the receiving end of an AK,I'm still here becuase THEY SUCK!!!

  • @armysapper12b ya, you can aim at somebody at center mass with an AK at 150 yards, and by the 3rd round your shooting about a foot over their head! give me an M16 or ACR.

  • @17viris boy don't act like you know what you're talking about. get out and fire all three of them before you state an opinion like that. stop using video games as a firearms reference

  • @sasquatch4liffee video games???? im in the US ARMY so you sir need to shut you mouth and stop trying to act like you know what your talking about. BOY!

  • @17viris you still sound like you're full of shit

  • @sasquatch4liffee lmao, sure buddy. i guess you cant "talk" the stupid out of somebody...

  • @armysapper12b you're an idiot the blakwater sniper or travis haley of magpul and haley stratigic would disagree with you.
