Black Widows aren't so bad. In my field of work I am always going into mechanical rooms on big industrial buildings and there are black widows everywhere, and brown recluses too. Just watch what you're doing, they're not going to purposely seek out your pants leg and bite you for the hell of it. They are pretty damn wicked looking though.

Not trying to be a know it all or anything, but the Brown Recluse is the most dangerous spider in North America. My Uncle was bitten by one and where he was bit swelled up like when that check got stung by the giant monster bug in Stephen Kings "The Mist". He almost died, and although they did save him he had to stab a syringe into the giant wound and suck out all the puss and other nasty stuff. The Brown Recluses venom rots flesh and makes it necrotic.
