Before Bolivia became a sovereign Republic in 1825, indegenous Andeans who speak Quechua, been paying homage to Pachamama literally Mother Earth. However, the new republic devided their land and villages politically and they were not happy amongst them so they went to fight in the TINKU ritual. It is a fist fight and to protect their head, they wear a MONTERA copied after the Spanish Conquistadores. Moves of this dance is a preparation and warm up that ends in blood and broken noses in Bolivia.
