i garantee the style change and music change is a record label choice to reach a wider audience . its a shame but if you want to sell records now you have to get to the kids and unfortunately emo hair and eye makeup tight jeans and studded belts is all the rage gutted for selling out but still a good song nonetheless .

If you want to get deep into thinking why you could say the person who writes the lyrics went through something and their lyrics doesn't fit the old style, but I think that would be thinking about it too much. lol
