All REAL Saleen Mustangs are identified by large numbers on the top of the drivers side front bumper. If it did not have numbers, then he was jerking you around, and was most likely fake... Which is probly the case here. Since the driver never pointed that out! Which any Authentic Saleen owner would! So it looks like you were neck a neck with a Mustang GT!
I see a lot of trash talk about mustangs. 225 HP against 305 HP SS. The mustang did pretty good.Unless that stang was supercharged, it was only pushing 185 to the wheels.I know that wasnt a saleen S351 because those are running straight 11 sec quarter mile stock.Badest saleen ever built hands down with a 5.8 liter supercharged engine that will shit on any camaro or corvette.
@iamtheC00n No they are not. S281 Are mustang GTs with upgrade suspension and engine rebuilt with BBK parts. You can have the the supercharger added with the package. But its optional. The Saleen 98 S351 is a 5.8 supercharged with a vortech pushing 550 Hp. Running high elevens stock. IIm not sure about the new saleens. I havent done much research about them. But basically the S281 saleens are GTs with body kits and suspension. Your paying for the name. 2004 Saleen Cobra is supercharged as well.

They are one of the most power mustang ever built.The 5.8 351 block is nasty supercharged. @2cool4u728 right now, yes, the mustang does put out better numbers, but only slightly (after making their engine bigger -the way pony cars should- and sending it to SVT for some in company aftermarket). a year ago it was a different story though. camaro was the better straight-line car (the race has never been in the turns). but the real question is what really defines 'beat' because you can do more with an LS3 from an engineering perspective which is why the ZR1 is the fastest production car

I see a lot of trash talk about mustangs. 225 HP against 305 HP SS. The mustang did pretty good.Unless that stang was supercharged, it was only pushing 185 to the wheels.I know that wasnt a saleen S351 because those are running straight 11 sec quarter mile stock.Badest saleen ever built hands down with a 5.8 liter supercharged engine that will shit on any camaro or corvette.

@iamtheC00n No they are not. S281 Are mustang GTs with upgrade suspension and engine rebuilt with BBK parts. You can have the the supercharger added with the package. But its optional. The Saleen 98 S351 is a 5.8 supercharged with a vortech pushing 550 Hp. Running high elevens stock. IIm not sure about the new saleens. I havent done much research about them. But basically the S281 saleens are GTs with body kits and suspension. Your paying for the name. 2004 Saleen Cobra is supercharged as well.

@iamtheC00n But most Saleens you see are S281s. ANd are basically modified GTs. I garantee that you didnt race S351 and beat it with a 94 z28. Those S351s smoke the new GT500s bad. They are one of the most power mustang ever built.The 5.8 351 block is nasty supercharged. I plan on dropping one in my Cobra. 351 is the way to go in a ford.I dont understand why Ford didnt put the 351 in the cobras when they brought them back in 93? @2cool4u728 right now, yes, the mustang does put out better numbers, but only slightly (after making their engine bigger -the way pony cars should- and sending it to SVT for some in company aftermarket). a year ago it was a different story though. camaro was the better straight-line car (the race has never been in the turns). but the real question is what really defines 'beat' because you can do more with an LS3 from an engineering perspective which is why the ZR1 is the fastest production car

@ronbunch1 lol yeah its a tiny motor but its alot lighter then your 6.2 and is a better engine then the 6.2 yeah the 6.2 has a lot of horse power but there is nothing you can to with that horse power if your car is a paper weight lol thats why the mustang is a better car all around i still think its sad that the little 302 mustang will take the 2010 and the 2011 camaro the big 6.2 lol maybe if they would loose some of that engine you might be able to loose some weight & take that little 302

@jefframrod1 im not even bragging over the 6.2 cause i dont own it i got 5.7 that 5.0 ya gotta remember its 4 cams&32valves (i think)remember also 05 and newer stangs arent lite!! its a well engineered vehicle apparently i never said it was'nt..chevy is just now beginning to perfect this platform its a brand new drivetrain,chassis&suspension stangs been going since 05..and also dont rule out problems with that new 5.0 its only been on the road a short time
