there is no plan to release this game in US sadly. Every source out there is based off of one rumor and that one rumor was posted on April 2nd, 2010.
If you check Namco of america's twitter page, they have repeatedly said there is no plan for a US release. if there is a change in the future, you will hear it directly from them.
Blame the Xbox 360 owners....we didn't buy enough vesperia game units to justify marketing here...even though it IS the most epic RPG Xbox has ever had...

NamcoBandai, being Sony's bitch (and Japan's) did what they always do and released the enhanced version of the game in Japan only (exception is TotA). It should not have come as a surprise if you keep up with the Tales series. That being said, it was also not surprising that they decided to withold ToG. Do you realize the US has gotten only a fraction of all Tales games? That all being said, I'm happy they're localizing! Go Tales!

@Serasia ehem, you could do other thing called modding your wii, and wait for the fan translation, im not saying that you should do piracy, but you can buy all the original games that you want, and only play tales of graces fan translated on your wii.
I think my friend modded his Wii...or did something. He had lots of Japanese games, in Japanese. I was pretty envious and I don't usually get that way. xD

I have to admit, as a super Tales fan, this is NOT one of my favorite openings. I really like Vesperia's more...this one just reminds me of clips strung together from an anime version of it or..something....

Tales of Graces is going to be released in Europe in Summer this year so it's almost garenteed that it will come to Canada and the US soon hopefully this summer aswell (I HOPE!!!) I'm so jackked for it though, It looks absolutely amazing and it's suposed to have a 3-d map just like the original ToS and unlike ToS:DNW which was a complete let down..... :( I really really REALLY hope that tales of graces comes to Canada (because that tis where I am)!!!

No, it says so in a magazine but it does not mean anything, we are on the final weeks for a confirmation of localization, if abril ends without a notice, then it will never be out of japan (at least that they announce it on the Tales festival, which is higly unlikely)
Everytime I look at this opening, I notice that it's very beutiful, and the characters all look pretty. So I think that this is centered a little more towards girls than the other ones, and RPGs with girls as the target audience are pretty rare, so this one will probably sell fairly well.
I LOVE this opening and I think I will throw a hissy fit if this game isn't released in NA. Also, I would like to know why everyone is calling ToS:DotNW trash? I really enjoyed it. (Except for the monster catching system. We bought Tales, not Pokemon.)
@blackangel7123 It's not that I disliked DotNW, its that it was severely lacking compared to other Tales' flagship titles... The monster system wasn't as much of a problem as almost never having a full cast for 4p and the inability of the ToS cast to level. imo, it's still better than Legendia (not that that is too bad either)
DotNW is not really a bad game, the thing is that ToS set the expectations too high and most people seem uncapable of judging the game for it's own merits without resorting to compare it to ToS in every possible aspect.
Yes, it has many flaws, like the level lock on every playable character besides Marta, Emil and the monsters and the linearity of the story telling.
But most people don't even care that, they just keep ranting about MA's changed names, voice acting or Emil and Marta's demeanor.
I think the game has an amazingly deep story, more than it would seem to, one of the best LMBS seen to date, smart character developement and interesting new personalities (People can say what they want about Emil and Marta, but I was really getting tired of the ultra heroic generic male protagonist and the clumsy, yet good hearted generic female protagonist we get with almost every Tales; you can even see it in the married woman affair skit, Marta's the only character to not act like a bitch).
However, the game was rushed, and many elements that were taken out would have really made the game a lot better.
Still, I really like it, and the only thing that I would change would be the final battle, since I would have loved to get to fight a super badass demon right after beating Richter; and the map screen for an explorable map.
Symphonia 2 was objectively trash. Vesperia was better off and I hear good things from trusted people about Graces but I really think this series is starting to feel awfully long in the tooth for it's release frequency. Japan is entering a severe problem with stagnation, which is why their RPG makers are all hurting. =/
Man,I am not a Tales of gamer but since I played for a bit Tales of the Abyss in PS2 I just loved it,so I did with TOV,but TOV wan in only one thing worse than TOA. Only in story...I like the RPGs storyline and TOA's was really good

It's possible it'll come out in the U.S., but considering it's produced by Team Destiny, I wouldn't get my hopes up too much. It could go either way with this game, really.

i think the animation looks a little different too. it doesn't seem as smooth as the others, but the quality of the opening as little to no bearing on the quality of the game itself. if it doesn't come to the US, i WILL BE ANGRY.
I'll tell you one thing, it isn't overloaded with spoilers all over the place about every character. I mean at most of enemy humans we see the guy with white & black mixed hair wielding the two giant lance things, while the rest are generic mooks. The spoiler scenes aren't too big either and are pretty ambiguous, there's a fire scene and apparently Richard is pretty important, but that's a pretty obvious thing anyway.
It may have been done by a different company. The last few games (Symphonia, Abyss, etc.) had their intros made by Production I.G. (who also made the anime sequence in Kill Bill for those who are interested), so it's possible that Namco changed companies for this game, but I'd have to double check before I can say that for sure.
I never heard that. Symphonia is considered the most popular(and in my opinion most milked) of the franchise. Most U.S gamers only know about Symphonia and aren't even aware that it's part of a franchise of games. So Symphonia being the success it is in the U.S., it was predictable that DotNW(which is a spin-off, not a sequel, btw) would be localized.

wow worst op ever DX. seriously the trailer fit better with the music than this. its really sad considering they had such a nice song to work with. though not very upbeat they still could of done better than this cut and paste attempt.
I doubt this will make it out of Japan anyway- it's produced by Team Destiny, and none of their games are ever localized. Although with this being a full 3-D Tales game and on the Wii, there's a chance N-B wont be idiots about this one.

Richter is fought in the game, their have been screenshots from people who preordered it that show him laughing manaically, trying to stab sophie, and using one of his blast caliburs as an enemy.
Lol, if he ended up like Lion that would be dissapointing considering Lion is one of my Favorite Tales characters.
But, it was all cool since he came back as "Judas" in ToD2, and was in the party pretty much the entire time when you get him, until after the final boss.

Everytime I look at this opening, I notice that it's very beutiful, and the characters all look pretty. So I think that this is centered a little more towards girls than the other ones, and RPGs with girls as the target audience are pretty rare, so this one will probably sell fairly well.

I LOVE this opening and I think I will throw a hissy fit if this game isn't released in NA. Also, I would like to know why everyone is calling ToS:DotNW trash? I really enjoyed it. (Except for the monster catching system. We bought Tales, not Pokemon.)

@blackangel7123 It's not that I disliked DotNW, its that it was severely lacking compared to other Tales' flagship titles... The monster system wasn't as much of a problem as almost never having a full cast for 4p and the inability of the ToS cast to level. imo, it's still better than Legendia (not that that is too bad either)

DotNW is not really a bad game, the thing is that ToS set the expectations too high and most people seem uncapable of judging the game for it's own merits without resorting to compare it to ToS in every possible aspect.
Yes, it has many flaws, like the level lock on every playable character besides Marta, Emil and the monsters and the linearity of the story telling.
But most people don't even care that, they just keep ranting about MA's changed names, voice acting or Emil and Marta's demeanor.

I think the game has an amazingly deep story, more than it would seem to, one of the best LMBS seen to date, smart character developement and interesting new personalities (People can say what they want about Emil and Marta, but I was really getting tired of the ultra heroic generic male protagonist and the clumsy, yet good hearted generic female protagonist we get with almost every Tales; you can even see it in the married woman affair skit, Marta's the only character to not act like a bitch).

However, the game was rushed, and many elements that were taken out would have really made the game a lot better.
Still, I really like it, and the only thing that I would change would be the final battle, since I would have loved to get to fight a super badass demon right after beating Richter; and the map screen for an explorable map.

Symphonia 2 was objectively trash. Vesperia was better off and I hear good things from trusted people about Graces but I really think this series is starting to feel awfully long in the tooth for it's release frequency. Japan is entering a severe problem with stagnation, which is why their RPG makers are all hurting. =/

Man,I am not a Tales of gamer but since I played for a bit Tales of the Abyss in PS2 I just loved it,so I did with TOV,but TOV wan in only one thing worse than TOA. Only in story...I like the RPGs storyline and TOA's was really good

I understand what you mean, only a few has comed out in europe. I imported vesperia(PS3) and this, but I forgot that I can't play jap Wii games on my european Wii..
I'm from norway, and I have learnt all my english from movies, comics and games so I'm not good at write gramaticly right...

In case it helps your English, I'll point out your errors for you. If this comes across as patronising in any way, then I'm truly sorry.
- "Only a few has comed" should be "only a few have come"
- "learnt" should be "learned", although it is pronounced "learnt" in that context.
- "I'm not good at write gramaticly right" should be "I'm not good at writing gramatically correctly" although a better way of expressing that would be "my grammar is not very good."

It's possible it'll come out in the U.S., but considering it's produced by Team Destiny, I wouldn't get my hopes up too much. It could go either way with this game, really.

@fishykid4 Not to be a major downer, but it may end up like Tales of Vesperia. It WILL come to NA, BUT it will contain limited extra content (additional characters, finisher attacks, extra quests, etc.) and it will only be for ONE console. Like Tales of Vesperia only for the 360 and it had limited content like the original Japanese version. I was hoping it would come out for the PS3, but it turns out that ToV PS3 vers. is a Jap. exclusive.......

i think the animation looks a little different too. it doesn't seem as smooth as the others, but the quality of the opening as little to no bearing on the quality of the game itself. if it doesn't come to the US, i WILL BE ANGRY.

I'll tell you one thing, it isn't overloaded with spoilers all over the place about every character. I mean at most of enemy humans we see the guy with white & black mixed hair wielding the two giant lance things, while the rest are generic mooks. The spoiler scenes aren't too big either and are pretty ambiguous, there's a fire scene and apparently Richard is pretty important, but that's a pretty obvious thing anyway.

It may have been done by a different company. The last few games (Symphonia, Abyss, etc.) had their intros made by Production I.G. (who also made the anime sequence in Kill Bill for those who are interested), so it's possible that Namco changed companies for this game, but I'd have to double check before I can say that for sure.

I never heard that. Symphonia is considered the most popular(and in my opinion most milked) of the franchise. Most U.S gamers only know about Symphonia and aren't even aware that it's part of a franchise of games. So Symphonia being the success it is in the U.S., it was predictable that DotNW(which is a spin-off, not a sequel, btw) would be localized.

I doubt this will make it out of Japan anyway- it's produced by Team Destiny, and none of their games are ever localized. Although with this being a full 3-D Tales game and on the Wii, there's a chance N-B wont be idiots about this one.

Richter is fought in the game, their have been screenshots from people who preordered it that show him laughing manaically, trying to stab sophie, and using one of his blast caliburs as an enemy.

Lol, if he ended up like Lion that would be dissapointing considering Lion is one of my Favorite Tales characters.
But, it was all cool since he came back as "Judas" in ToD2, and was in the party pretty much the entire time when you get him, until after the final boss.
