@TheDensHard I don't go above 125hz. I've found going any higher adds mud. For the top end I try set it at the harshest frequency. 99% of the time that's between 3khz and 5khz.
Hey, would this mixsaturator perform well on a mic-ed guitar sound? Or, is it just preamp (any sim, or amp line out) -> mixsaturator -> cabinet impulse?
Hey dude i had a quick question concerning a prob ive been having for years. Nose gate guitar buzz issues.. No matter what the settings, buzz still manages to get through. I dont palm mute all that much in my music but when i do, the buzz gets through when i palm mute, So i try to avoid it anyway. Which isnt good becaus ei would like to be able to play my instrument and nt worry about something like this..limitations. All of your vids have helped alot man. Godbless
@neo69hk It's not so difficult with a balanced mix. Keep an eye on the bass and kick in particular, an out of control low end is the quickest path to a master clipping before it sounds loud enough. Let the kick and bass to dominate the low end and cut the lows from the guitars and other drums with a hi-pass filter at 100hz. Let your mids be dominated by guitars, vocals, snare, toms and the top end by your cymbals. When the mix is balanced you wont need to do half as much squashing with limiters.
@TechcoreIsSexy Hey the plugin is on the master fx channel so it's processing both guitar tracks. If this was a full mix I'd have created a stereo group for the guitars and put the plugin on that. Good idea on showing the difference the mixsaturator can make in a mix situation, will do that in another video.
@fearcomplexmusic Cool, I've been using recabinet and plugging my ENGL Fireball direct. It'd be nice to have some other options for impulses though :)
I like it though. It adds a little subtle something to the distorted guitars. Though in an ideal situation you simply setup a mic infront of the cab, and that's that. All depends on what you're going for. It's 2012, so I say go ahead and use the saturator!
Hey man...cool thing. Can you tell me if there are specific areas you target? Like 125Hz in the low end and 4500Hz on the high end?

Great tone man! Would it make any sense to insert the mixsaturator on whole mix?

@psilokrzych I've tried it and didn't like it. Seems to work best on guitars and bass.

@OhSoInsane Sure man. Works great on a mic'd tone. With amp sims I have it last in the chain also, so Amp sim - impulse - mixsaturator.

@fearcomplexmusic very nice! That is incredible to hear
