  • did you install load resistors?

  • @con5tant Yup, or they would just blink too fast. Its started happening again now that its hot out. :(

  • I have a 2007 Mitsubishi Raider, basically a re-badged Dakota with the v-led type 2 5000k switchback bulbs. I have the same issue after about 15 - 20 of driving. If I turn the truck/lights off and back on they work normally for another 15 - 20 mins. Very confusing problem. I am now on my 4th pair of bulbs. V-led has been very helpful but we have not found a resolution yet. I am about ready to go back to regular amber led bulbs. Getting a little tired of removing my entire headlights once a week.

  • @mitsured My issue went away after a few months of driving. VLED sent me replacement bulbs and they did the same thing. Since i dont drive the car much in winter I left them in and drove now and then. Now months later the problem never happens. Did something need to "burn in" to the bulbs with heat? I have no idea.

  • I think its bad ass!! Hahahahahahah

  • Update- its been below freezing here for 2 months, and now the bulbs are normal. So either the cold weather solved the problem and it will come back when it gets hot out again, or the bulbs needed "burn in time" for the internal circuit to settle? I dunno. But in the winter a few months after install, they work. If the start doing it again, I'll update here.

  • TurbooooooMike, I have a 2011 Sonata and this started happening one day out of the blues while driving home from work and the distance is not that far so they were only on for about 20-30 minutes. I'm fairly proficient with electrical and what you need to do is unplug the main harness for the trun signals and replug them back in to reset everything. That shuold solve the issue as it solved it for me. It's not the bulb...

  • @bkim1717 I've had the bulbs in and out, but didnt change anything. Also the G8 doesnt have a turn signal relay the body computer looks at the voltage at each bulb individually to see if its out. The car has been "reset" with battery out a few times and nothing changes. What did change, is now they work (see other comment). ps- thanks for the feedback tho

  • wow, I'm having the same problem with my G8 too!

I used to have these lights on my car way back, and they worked great until one died (wiring harness got sliced, shorted a bulb somehow, long story). So went back to normal amber LED's for a the rest of the year.

Just yesterday, my new switchbacks arrived and I put them in. After I tested them, I was satisifed they were working fine.

Last night, after having the car running for about an hour or so, I noticed this exact flashing problem!

  • @firemate81 So far cant find any other car on any forums or video that it happens to. I know one other G8 doing the same thing on one of the G8 forums. So its unique to the car. I sent v-leds the video and they're having an engineer look into it. So fingers crossed.
