  • Once more if you think running is "easy" then try running when your as heavy as I was, without stoping, it was a lot more then just willpower. Is lifting weights hard? Yea but if you had the big body type like I had it was easy, almost too easy compared to smaller people I knew

  • To continue that last post when I needed to work on my pullups that fall I did p90x for about a month and I noticed results, years in the weight room gave me almost zero results

  • I went from 285 too 235 in one summer, that's 3 months and I did almost zero weight training. Run 3 miles every morning and run wind springs at night, if you want bulk then yea go lift weights but if you want to lose weight then trust me you won't lose that much lifting weights, and as far as diet? Just keep the carbs and sugars down and lean proteins up, don't listen to this dumbass

  • Awsome video!!! So true.

  • ok so how do you lose love handles i just got them they aren't very pretty. so should i do the elliptical or weights? i think cardio makes more sense bc thats how you lose weight and than you do weights to build muscle right or wrong? plz correct me.

  • @THEREALBARBIE89 Hun, it is a little bit more complicated and there is not enough space here to explain it all. My advice to you to start out, do weights 3 days a week, and skip rope the other two days. then start cutting carbs. In the meanwhile go through all my fitness and training videos. If you follow them in sequence you will learn exactly how your body works and what you should do. If you learn it for yourself, you will never have to rely on other people to train you ever again.

  • @thebarbiewithmuscle thanks for responding..i really appreciate it:) and will do.

  • can you explain what eating clean is please?

  • @MizPromiscuousity Eating clean means basically doing the bodybuilders diet. You eat meat and animal protein six times a day. Alongside at least 3 of your meals you have to have a cup or 2 of vegetables, and the only carbs you get are from fruits and vegetables. No breads or starches of any kind:) So basically you live of protein, vegetables and fruit.

  • @thebarbiewithmuscle I tried that for about a year, but I got too tired I think it caused depression too eventually. Now I eat brown rice for my energy source and enough vegetable to get vitamin C. For protein I eat chicken and eggs.

  • #1 You lose weight when you burn more calories than you take in. Therefore, many ppl are losing weight w/o exercising at all.

#2 A person's regimen depends on their goals.

#3 Cardio is called cardio because it exercises the heart muscle. Therefore a healthy heart should be the #1 motivation for cardio exercise and any weight loss that may result is merely a secondary benefit. But there is a catch! Read my next comment.

  • @osensei2987 The heart is probably the most fit muscle in the human body! This is because it works 24/7 for the duration of your life. How can you then say that this most active muscle in your body needs exercise? For example ppl think they need to do cardio because they lack endurance. The truth is that most lack of endurance comes for poor circulation in the coronary arteries! As a heart patient I experienced this first hand. Once my plaques were cleared my endurance was limitless on day 1!

  • @osensei2987 Most ppl have early coronary artery disease. That's why they have to work their way up gradually when doing cardio. What they're really doing is training their heart to tolerate being worked at an lower oxygen level. As the heart adapts to operating w/ less than peak blood supply then the heart muscle "complains" much less. This results in the person no longer feeling out of breath. But it is the result of the heart adapting to poor conditions and not really an improvement health.

  • @osensei2987 This is when cardio becomes dangerously deceptive. Because the person has trained their heart (through exercise) not to complain when working hard in a poor circulatory environment. The heart has learned to work anaerobically w/o complaint. This gives the person a false sense of well being at a time when a poor circulatory problem still persists. This explains why some of the most seemingly cardio fit ppl can suddenly die from a heart attack!

  • @osensei2987 if you feel so passionately about the subject, why don't you make videos about it. Training is like religion. Everybody do what they love and nobody will change their mind on what the right way is. This is the way i feel with my experience. you should share your experience with people who think and agree with you, don't you think? I can promise you, there are 1000's more people that run than people who compete in bodybuilding.

  • @osensei2987 ANY person can run, it doesn't take much. Just the will to keep going. On the other hand not EVERYBODY can and has the balls to lift heavy weights. Why are more people running than are lifting weights. Because it is EASY. nobody wants to do anything that is actually hard. It takes a mindset like no other, with more determination that most people have, to actually LIFT HARD.

  • @osensei2987 Wasn't all the above pretty much obvious in the video? The reason i made the video, is to teach people that depending on your goal, the exercise you do should get you there. you can not look like me through endurance training. if you want to look like me you will have to train like me. Cardio can be done in different forms. weight training with short intervals and high reps is EXACTLY that... cardio. So change cardio for the word endurance if you like.

  • @thebarbiewithmuscle I'm not disagreeing with you at all. Why do you think I'm disagreeing with you? Please read what I'm saying again. My point is that there are ppl who can do massive amounts of cardio that are near ready to have a heart attack. Yet because they have stamina they are fooled into thinking they are healthy. Actually, the female sprinter in ur video died suddenly! Probably from heart failure.

  • @osensei2987 I must have misunderstood. so what are you saying, aren't you a runner? That is the impression I got. And most runners just come here laying eggs under my video trying to convince me to start running en stead of weight lifting, which irritates me, because my channel is not a channel for runners. There are "runner" channels where they can comment, that's why I thought you were one of those.

  • @thebarbiewithmuscle No I'm saying that ppl are fooled into believing they they are benefiting from cardio because they see improvement in stamina from the time they had begun. But the truth is that bad stamina comes from unhealthy blood circulation caused by plaque in the arteries. Cardio simply forces the heart to function at this blood starved level resulting in stamina increase. But this increase is not healthy because the circulation problem is not cured only masked.

  • @thebarbiewithmuscle When the heart does not receive enough oxygen the person becomes out of breath or winded. They might experience tightness in the chest and cramps in the side. Over time the heart adapts to not having enough oxygen and these symptoms go away. But the cause of the symptoms remains and disease could very well be silently progressing even though the person is continually doing massive amounts of cardio.

  • Thankyou so much for this video it's really simple to understand and informative. Just what I've been looking for :)

  • @tamtamrawr123 Oh sweetheart, you are so very welcome:) I tell you, I sweat every time I see there is a comment under this video. I have literally started world war III with this video. Runners gets so pissed of by this, and attack me all the time. Still I really think people who don't want to hear the truth, will always defend what they believe in, even if it's wrong. Amazing thing is, runners always ask me how I get to look the way I look, when I tell them, they don't want to do it:)

  • Wow what an attitude.

  • @georgelopezblows Understand that if you exercise more just to eat more you are only going to accelerate the aging process. Just like putting more miles on your car will cause it to wear down. Even if you maintain it well, you are still wearing it down. Cardio excercise when done it excess can tear the body down because it raises cortisol levels. Compare an olympic marathon runner to a sprinter and you will see what I mean. Marathoners are all about endurance while sprinters use H.I.I.T.

  • @modavator You are right, I should have called it "endurance" training. Because "cardio" in itself, explosive, short distance unaerobic cardio, holds on to muscle while burning fat. But any aerobic, long distance, steady pace running, is bad for your body and bad for your heart. All current research proves that:)

  • um i love you

  • @powerFamosa LOL, well that makes me very happy, that means you actually are learning something from my videos, I assume:) You are sweet...

  • I get her point about cardio, but you can't just say dont do cardio...., sprinting is a form of cardio. so some cardio is still needed. if you wanna be lean and muscular you just got to avoid those long jogs. I like that this shows weight training and good dieting gets you lean.

  • @runepureha1 You are ABSOLUTELY CORRECT. What I should have called this video is Aerobic or endurance training is evil, not cardio specific, but this was a lot of work, and I really don't have the energy to do it over. My main reason for making this video, was out of irretation, because people would stumble on my channel, NOT look back at my videos, and Immediately ask me how much I run and ho far, to look the way I do. A lifetime of retarded questions like that, made me snap and do this vid.

  • @thebarbiewithmuscle Whenever I have somebody ask me how much I run, I tell them that they can never outrun a bad diet. I don't know who came up with that saying, but I love the look on their faces when I say that. You are just telling it like it is and I'm glad somebody is.

  • @runepureha1 I kinda figured people would figure it out when they watch the video, since I mention sprinters vs endurance athletes like marathon runners, comparing their training and the way they look.

  • @thebarbiewithmuscle haha yea, i just wanted to make sure they knew haha :)

  • @runepureha1 Good for you, adding stuff is always a bonus:)

  • Cardio is for IDIOTS

  • @ChocolatePoop1301 LOL, we shouldn''t generalise hun. I would say at least 3% of runners run because they don't know any better, the others... well you've said it.

  • Thank you so, so much for this video. I learned a lot and will absolutely keep everything you said in mind when I train. You are fabulous.

  • @stormyquin No problem hunnybun. Thank you, this was a video that I made out of pure frustration and I offended many people with it. I was wondering a couple of times if I should remove it, then a long comes little old you, and I decide to keep it up:) Thank you again, and keep training, and never give up on what you want to be or become:) Hugs to ye....

  • What's "Clean Dieting"?

  • @Chrisle6969 Clean dieting means basically (the short version) eating only proteins (meat, eggs, milk products), green vegetables and salad vegetables (no potatoes or corn), and fruits only around workouts. No breads, grains, or any other carbs except for what you get in fruit and vegetables. No sugar whatsoever, no bread,no rice absolutely no other carbs.

  • Wow!! I'm glad you decided to post this information!! I was just about to the gym and do a hour of cardio :) I say you should keep talking about what works for you because you have so many people going to the gym everyday doing cardio, and not seeing the results they want... I always wondered why you dont see the Big Guys in the gym doing cardio, and alot of them know this information but they just won't tell you their secret... Thanks again for posting this!!!

  • @stymie662 LOL, you are very welcome. I have plenty of videos explaining how your body works and how to get it lean and muscular, and I must say, it is quite refreshing to NOT get a comment from someone with blinders on their eyes, attacking me because I don't run:)

  • Wait, I run lots and I have abs. I don't weight train at all. What does that mean? (My diet is gluten-free, and no sugar/refined grains but that's about it).

  • @SaraHeartsRunning I don't know what that means:) It means if you are happy keep doing what you are doing:) this video is basically to explain to people, to do research in what they want to look like and do that sport. I am a figure athlete and people keep on asking me if I'm running. I don't even run to pee. If you are happy, just keep it up. I don't train runners though, I train bodybuilders.

  • @thebarbiewithmuscle

Okay I thought you were saying you can't have abs or be 'toned' if you run and if you run, you'll lose all muscle and still have the fat but look lean (skinnyfat people). But regardless the video was very good and informative! Thanks!:)

  • yay! im a girl that weight trains too and i'm so sick of arguing with friends about why what i do works for me and how i want my body to look. i just want a lean shapely body and they think i'm gonna get "buff". so many people are misinformed about what weights can do for them but i was glad to see your message. thanks for this video!

  • @purplkaret You go girl!!! If they don't want to listen to you, just let them be. In a year or so when you are lean and ripped and sexy, and they still have hangy jiggly asses covered in cellulite, you can smile at them and say: "I told you so". I love poetic justice. Then all those hags will be jealous of YOU!!!! Good for you for being smart and making the smart choice. And even further in life, they will be grannys in krutches and you will be biking with your grandchildren:)

  • wait so i should only do weights?

what if i will also jump rope?

  • @GameSteal Jumping rope inbetween days of weight training is perfect:)

  • @thebarbiewithmuscle awsome thank you very much for the quick reply

    you are very helpful

  • The guy at 5:41..... Yes, he did not do marathon... but he did a LOT of steroids....yeap..!

  • @hadhrami79 You can use all the steroids money can buy, you will STILL NOT look like Lee Priest if you do marathons in stead of weight training. Steroids is not a magic pill. You still have to work your ass of to look like anything. If you use steroids while sitting on your ass, you will not build muscle:)

  • @thebarbiewithmuscle Sure, couldn't agree with you more. But weight training alone with no steroids will not get you anywhere near Lee Priest... I myself love HIIT and believe that sprinters have the most beautiful bodies anyone could ask for.

  • @hadhrami79 agreed:) Sprinters spend lots of time in the gym. Direct corrilation between HIIT and weight training (heavy squats) squatting strength and short distance speed.

  • i lift 6 days a week...(monday-saturday)....after im done lifting can i do 25 minutes of HIIT, having the intervals be 40 seconds of jog 20 seconds of full out sprint?

  • @brigs369 You've got it girl!! Smart you are! Nothing better than intervals, to get fit while keeping and building muscle! good for you. I like it a lot!

  • @thebarbiewithmuscle

Thanks, it means a lot considering there is so much misleading information out there, now i know what to do to get a ripped body!!!! (im a guy but its ok)

  • @brigs369 Ha-ha-haaaa, I appologise from the bottomest bottom of my heart SIR! Either way, whether you are a guy or a girl, your body works the same, and you are on the right track. I am just now putting up a video on abs. Hope you enjoy it. Hugs to ye anyways:) Marinda

  • I'm glad i came across this. for roughly the past two years i was going to the gym just using the elliptical for between 40-60 mins, 5 days a week. Lately, however, i moved and am further from the gym so don't go as much, and instead have just been lifting weights and squats and crunches etc at home, and i think my body looks better now. wish i'd known this earlier lol.

  • @mufcgirl93 Sweet thing, if you want a ripped body, all you need to do is go to the gym 3 times a week for an hour each and do full body programs. Within 1 year you will not recognise your own body:)

  • @thebarbiewithmuscle AGREED 1000%, and all u need is a very bacis COMPOUND full routine!

  • @ClintsFitness Brilliant, you have seen the light. Now give me some advice as how to make people understand how this influences the "inside" of your body! Thanks so much for commenting:)

  • actually, its better if you do cardio and weight lift, it also depends on your genetics you have to exercise for the body you want. Cardio is primarily great because its great for your heart and lungs and keeps you young, and when you get older cardio will always be great.

  • @nightdave Hey girlie, actually the opposite is true. Cardio ages your body and your cells and enlarges your heart, and screws up your tendants and your joints. They are doing more and more research into this. If you do a heavy weight lifting training with short rest periods, believe you me, your heart races and your lungs end up on the floor next to you. It ensures heart health and lung health while building your musle. Interval and explosive cardio is fine, but endurance, not:)

  • @thebarbiewithmuscle Taking walks for atleast 30 minutes a day is great, its also great cardio, riding bicycles and swimming is also the best workouts and you dont need to spend money to do these easy exercises and wont hurt your joints if you do them carefully, also, weights can be more dangerous if you dont have a personal trainer or instructor, but its good workout though, bodyweight exercises people can do them easily at home or anywhere, 3 times on upper body and lower body....

  • @nightdave I guess it depends on what your goals are. My body would not have looked the way it looked if I had walked, swimmed or cycled. I also have NEVER had a trainer. The ones that normal pleps like us can afford, is useless (I see them in the local gyms all the time). The ones that train the Arnold Swarcheneggers of this world is not affordable unless you are a multi -millionaire.

  • @thebarbiewithmuscle Have you ever considered the fact that the human body is designed for running long distances though? Running long distances actually helped us evolve because it helped us with hunting. If anything, running strengthens your legs. Running is actually very good for your health. they say that if you have a cold, running is the best way to get rid of it cuz it moves the blood cells in your body quicker to fight the infection.

  • Hold on.....I agreed up till you dissed the marathon runner. She most certainly does eat in order to run 36 plus miles. Respect your sport and the sport of others.

  • i do 100 star jumps a day for cardio

  • @bellyzbad Ahaaa! A subbie with mega brains! Good for you hun, good for you. You obviously got the point here!

  • Very good video.

  • @johnno691 LOL, you must be a weight trainer. This video literally caused world war 3 on my channel:) Actually many of my videos do that:)

  • Comment removed

  • wow marinda I just enjoyed watching a few of your vids!

You are in awesome shape! I LOVE muscles too! :-)

    Just subbed!

  • @hipretty Hey girlie! Well I am very happy you subbed, and even happier that you enjoy my videos:) Welcome, and pleased to meet you:) "M"

  • We're coming to an amazing time in terms of realization regarding food and the body.

Ask yourself this - do you ever see anyone who doesnt train, on ANY diet, grow muscle? (no)

Then ask yourself this - is it true you've seen people train - independent of their diet - grow muscle? (yes)

Then check out the videos in my favorite because we may well be heading into a time where more people go liquidarian (liquid only) and breatharian diet, as an evolution vs anorexia/starvation mindset.

  • @TheUtuber00 Interesting:)

  • By clean dieting do you mean eating healthy(fruits, lean meat, protein, veggies, etc) but still meeting one's daily calorie needs or do you mean eating healthy but lowering calorie intake but a little?

  • @man101234 I have a whole video series on how bodybuilders eat to stay lean or get lean. Clean eating means Protein first, then green veggies and no carbs and fruits only around workouts. Fruits are carbs, so are potatoes, carrots, peas, and the obvious stuff, like bread, rice, corn etc. Eat carbs only around workouts and for the rest meat and veggies/ low fat cottage cheese, eggs etc.

  • lol i wouldnt say lee priest isnt exactly the best example for natural bodybuilders... haha...

  • @Alive4Metal You are absolutely right, BUT I do think that example would bring my point across. Many woman are about that size when they finally decide okay, I have to do something. What do they do? Start walking, then running, and cut heir portions of crap they eat in half. I saved that picture immediately, I thought it was the funniest thing I've ever seen. When my husband and I do a bulking session, we usually say we are following lee priest LOL

  • just seen this, VERY interesting! You look INCREDIBLE! I can't tell you how jealous I am. I was measured at 19% bodyfat, does that mean skinnyfat :( I do a lot of running, haha love your descriptions at 5.22. This has really made me think. I might have to give up running and step etc after seeing this xx What do you think of protein shakes? (Sorry if you've already covered this) I really want to bulk up but naturally my physique is very narrow so not sure I ever will.

  • @ooglemakeup Thank you hun. Protein shakes are perfectly fine. However, meat and cottage cheese is much better quality when you want to pack on muscle and actually change your physique. Pure protein sources will obviously get quicker results than other stuff. You will also stay leaner, since their are no carbs involved. A protein shake is perfect for before and after a workout, but try to get some chicken and fish in for at least 4 of your 6 meals of the day.

  • @thebarbiewithmuscle 6 meat and fish meals? omg that must get expensive... OK will try! haha thanks!! xx

  • @ooglemakeup You could replace some meals with other protein than meat. Like cottage cheese, eggs but meat is the best way to pack on muscle. Chicken breasts and stuff like tilapia, and salmon (once a week only since you need that fat to burn fat). We buy at Costco and that helps a bit. We also eat low fat cooked ham (kirkland from costco) etc. Go check out my video on "good sources of lean protein)

  • @thebarbiewithmuscle thanks just watched that, I have so much to catch up on! You have really covered everything, quite amazing! Thanks!! Yes I'd heard cottage cheese is good, also apparently Ricotta is the best, as it's made from whey. I will need a ton of protein if I ever want to bulk up, wish me luck :(

  • Just seen this, I had asked you about running [now I know!] I am skiny built like Paula Radcliffe (the woman from the marathon pic) and really enjoy running as I feel lazy if I don't run. However I want to look like the muscle women so I will try to give up running. I have a request please, would be really grateful for any help... I have scoliosis, is there any way to alleviate it through exercise? I would be so grateful if you could do a vid on it? thanks! love your vids, just found them A+++++

  • i do max interval training like plyometrics but not distance running. i have seen fat loss with minimal muscle loss

  • @rjwd85 You are EXACTLY RIGHT! How do I get that into people's heads. Nobody wants to do interval training or even understand it. That is the ONLY cardio that will not have as much damaging effects on muscle fibres. You say cardio, and the whole nation starts running marathons. They drive me crazy!

  • (con't)

There is a researcher at McMaster University that demonstrated that ONLY physical activity was able to prolong the life of rats with a mutation in the mitochondria (a model to simulate kind of a deficiency we develop as we age). Due to this deficiency, they started to lose a lot of lean mass. The ONLY treatment that solved their problem was RESISTANCE TRAINING! So, we have even more reasons to LOVE it besides looking good! ;-)

    Thanks for sharing!

    (end)

  • (con't)

And because I want to look like you (hehehe), I stick to weight lifting mostly.

I'm doing my PhD in Nutrition, and have great news for us, weightlifting lovers: Studies have been demonstrating that resistance training is the only type of activity that decreases muscle loss due to aging. And it can actually help the elderly to gain some muscle! It is strongly recommended! (con't)

  • Hey dear!

As you know, I just found out your channel, so I'm kinda catching up with the vids... LOL

I LOVE, LOOOVEEEE weight training, too! I hate running (for more reasons than just wanting to build up muscle). I do agree with you in the sense that no one can achieve such a muscular, well defined body by just running (or doing excess cardio). In fact, everything comes down to want your goals are. (con't)

  • @laufel Honey, where in hell were you when I made these videos? My contradictory videos seem to start world war 3, 4 and 5 every time. LOL. I just read Johan your 3 messages. Wanna know what he said. Holy crap a woman with braincells, wish I could sit down and chat with her, bet we can talk for hours. I absolutely agree with that. Thank you so much for these comments, I certainly hope people read these when they get to these videos.:)

  • @thebarbiewithmuscle I'm sure we could talk for hours and hours! Why do you think I told you to let me know when you come to Montreal again?! ;-)

    xoxo

  • BIG AND FAT LOOL

How can you critizes endurance sports?are you crazy or what?

  • @robinhaooo No, just hot and sexy as hell with no cellulite anywhere on my body, thank you:)

  • Yeah, yeah I know, but sheesh and talk about self conscious. Right me and one other woman I 'm guessing 60yrs old in a weight room with 45 men and boys. Guess who was the odd one out trying to do squats?? I must have been such a sight. Oh well nice to know I can be comic relief for 45 men. Better luck next time I guess.

    L-

  • It's anaphalaxis, Marinda. Just a fancy way of saying life threatening allergic response. Very wise not to have shrimp in the house with your son. All those seafood allergies are nasty.

    L-

  • Ok so I am so completely discusted with myself I could scream. I went to the gym today, 1st time since the flippin snow. I was psyched. Had everything I needed with me. Shoes check, list check, water check, reviewed all the vids so I knew what the heck I was doing before hand check. Got thru the 4 or 5 exercises, cool I was on a role. BAM looked at the list for the 6th exercise & didnt remember how to do the bloody thing!! POOP,POOP major POOP!! I was so mad

no one to help me, so I went home!

    L-

  • Oh for Pete's sake, it's not that bad! If you can't remember an exercise, you just improvise. See if it is a lowerbody thing or an upperbody thing, and then just choose something else. Jump on a machine or do step ups, for upperbody, try good old fashion pushups, or go kill the abs. No biggy, it's a lifestyle change, not a disaster! You have many weeks to catch up. Just push yourself a little harder

  • Marinda,

What about heart health? Don't we need some cardio to build our heart muscle? How does body building accomplish this? Thanks.

  • Hunnybun, if you go through my whole series of videos, everything is explained. Thanks for commenting:)

  • would you condone HIIT cardio done alongside weight training?

  • That is the only cardio I ever condone:) Anything that you do that doesn't make you puke when you hit 15 minutes, is not intense enough!

  • Marinda..I have ran into a problem..I have the flu and can not exercise today and not sure about Friday. IIt will depend on how I feel. I am so scared I'm messing up by not doing anything..but I was told to REST

  • No hun, you don't fool around with the flu. John (my workoutpartner) was MIA on Monday because of the flu. Leave the working out, and just take warm baths with epsom salts, KEEP up the vitamins, especially the Vit C.

DON'T turn away from your diet, skip the carbs for workout days, and drink those chicken noodle cup of soup, but make sure you get all your protein. (when sick the little noodles in the cup of soup, will not do much damage.

  • Thanks..I have another question about food..Is shrimp ok..it is high in protein..also, my cottage cheese I have been eating is Breakstone Fat Free, but has 8 carbs per 1/2 cup..I've been eating 2 cups per day on most days..that adds up..I don't know where to find lower carb cottage cheese

  • OMG YES! shrimp is fantabulous! I used to eat shrimp until my son nearly died from it. He has anafalaksis (spelling?), so I don't even have it in my house anymore. Send me the nutritional info of the cottage cheese to my regular e-mail, so I can compare it to mine. I know there is one in the USA that Johan loves. Will ask him which one it is.

  • Ok..just sent the info to your email..thanks

  • Johan just got it, will send you a message.

  • And I will still get people fighting me hand and tooth to protect their precious running lifestyle:)

  • God Bless You for doing this video. It really cleared up alot of things. Very, very helpful Miranda THANK YOU!!!

  • You are so very welcome, pretty one!

  • I love Charlize Theron, one of the most beautiful women I've seen! She's actually got an education as a ballet dancer and has danced both the "Swan Lake" and the "Nutcracker Suite", but because of the an injured knee, she couldn't do it any longer. The photo in this vid doesn't do her any justice at all, but there are some seriously AMAZING photo's of her on the net :o)

  • Actually I went to the same high school as her for a short while, before I changed schools. Also she actually is the most beautiful person, but she does not exercise and she looks like that right now. We just saw her most recent video and she is extremely skinnyfat. That does not mean I don't thinks she is beautiful, or I don't love her as an actress. It just means she is not exercising, which is what this video is about.

  • I love this! I would much rather build muscle then jump around all day! LOL

A year ago, I realized that I didn't just want to be thin. Thin is not pretty when you are old! I want to have muscle when I'm old!

    *big hugs*

  • In that case hunnybun, you will live a long and healthy life, being strong enough to not end up in an old age home at age 70!

  • Great topic Marinda.... This is going to help so many people get the whole concept and stop wasting time with long boring cardio.

    Good Job :)

  • Thanks hun, how are you feeling and doing? How is the training coming along?

  • Thank you for taking the time to do this video, I am so tired of cardio and getting no where, I feel my body is beat up most of the time, I love weights but like an idiot don't do enough, I am going to change my workout and clean my diet and challenge myself to feel better. Thanks!!!

  • Well hun, better late than never! Now go and build up all that muscle you lost from all your running, and you will see the fat melt off like a knife cutting through butter.

  • Well, I kinda think the William sisters look rather nice. A lot of people think they look like men, but they are tall, strong and lean. They are not little women by no means. Don't see fat on them and they get around that tennis court PRETTY GOOD! And their clothes fit beautifully.

  • I cannot get over how that female marathon runner looks like. To me she looks to be suffering from malnutrition. She must not be nursing that baby. Her body cannot provide nurishment for more than one.

  • laughing here, read your comment to JOhan, and he said maybe she bought the baby! Or maybe she got the baby from someone else in the same concentration camp she came from, LOL The worst is people that look like that, think they look fabulous!

  • So do you think walking 2 miles, 5 days a week along with your program will actually hinder the results?

  • Just walking is relaxing and fun. Walking is not jogging, and it will not interfere with muscle growth. Walking is the term for measure on how people get around. Birds fly, we walk. No problem.

  • Terrific information! Oh my goodness! You have cleared up so much in my life for me by just showing me this! I've lost a whole lot of weight [still on that journey] but I've always done cycling - AHA MOMENT! - I don't want to look like a cycler! It has helped me get the weight off but like you said....it hasn't done a thing for how I actually want my body to look. Thank you sooooo much!

  • OMG, if I had known this stupid video would make so many lightbulbmoments, I would have done it a long time ago! And here it was actually more a warning for assholes to stop bothering me about cardio, LOL. You make me sooo haaapppy!

  • Sometimes all the info is out there....it just takes someone with a make up obsession to put it all together for us!

  • I know it is hard to wrap you head around things when you've done it a certain way for so many years. They key is to learn about how your body works as much as you can. Once you have the knowledge, it is easier to change:)

  • I posted my comment in the wrong spot as usual, like a retard, ha. I will post it again (where it belongs)Thanks so much for the great video, this helps explain so much and certainly takes away and shred of guilt I might still be harboring. I wish I had known this a long time ago, but we can't reflect on the past, our future is waiting on us, let's keep marching on with our new found knowledge. Thanks Marinda, you are the greatest.

  • Holy cow, I nearly blocked you! Stupid laptop don't have a mouse, just that stupid built in thingy. Anywhoo, wow a fellow retard, pleased to have you on board! Thanks hun, and you are very welcome.

  • Marinda..that was a GREAT video. That very much explains it all...When you are always taught one thing, it is so hard to change..But this put it all in perspective..I will be doing NO CARDIO..and I'm happy about it..You and Johan are awsome at what you do..The people who don't want to follow this, I have to ask.."WHY ARE THEY HERE''...move on..Love ya, keep up the good work..

  • Aaaw thanks hun for the encouraging words. Amazing how when you are on a mission to teach something, it just breaks your speed, when you get sidetracked by people who just won't listen, because they are so stuck in their own little worlds, and in stead of just agreeing to disagree and doing their own thing, they waste your time, when they do what they want anyway.

  • Great video!

  • Thanks hun, glad you enjoyed!

  • This was so much EXACTLY what I needed to see. Sometimes just a visual speaks volumes.

Marinda the examples were great. Thank you so much for all the work you put into this. You have said along dont waste your time running & I thought 'Ok,whatever, I wont run then" never mind I still wanted to. I heard you loud and clear but I didnt see why. Now I do. & by the way, I think Madonna looks like a man too. Wanna lay odds she's on steroids anyone?? BLECH!!

Kudos to you and Johan, Marinda

    Hugs,

    L-

  • Well than I am EXTREMELY happy, I did this video. Never thought I would get through to anyone, LOL

  • I find your videos very informative and I am planning on following your recommendations. However, my ex brother in law is a body builder and looks great but he could not hike up our local mountain - something I have no problem doing with much less muscle mass and much higher % body fat. I was very surprised to realize that he only looks fit but is very unfit.

  • I guess everybody has a different perspective on what fit is. Endurance doesn't necessary mean fit. Put a runner in a gym and give him a bodybuilder program. He will not survive the first 10 minutes. Who is fit in that regard. Also, I bet you if you take a long distance runner, and your ex,br-in-law. and you both sprint 50 metres, both of you will be out of breath at the end, but he will be the winner. So which one is the unfit one?

  • And so the conversation can go like who came first, the chicken or egg? LOL

  • ew Madonna is like a man no woman left- to me the only reason i look at her is like TRAIN wreck-You and she are not built alike- you are so much more attractive than her-- your a very healthy woman she is a woMAN!<- new word lol-- wow that bodly builder thing was something! You have answered some of my questions i have cousin that run and look like hell- i did not know why- this video explained so well everything!! you should get paid--wait you do!! lol.. much love shelly. (eat right everyone)

  • I don't think Madonna looks good either, I would have much rather put a picture up of a different person, but where in hell do you get a friggin celebrity that doesn't look anorexic or skinnyfat? I had to still prove a point, that the same rules count for celebrities as for normal people.

  • Oh yeah, and btw, sharlise Theron don't looks so fabulous either. Between the two uglies, I would prefer looking like Madonna. LOL

  • I do not like skinny bodies with no shape..I want curves and definition. I want to be lean and sexy..and I will eventually..I thank you for taking you time to sit down and put all this together..You are awseome..

  • Thanks rita, and you are very welcome. Just keep it up and you will get the body you want, and you are sexy already, because sexy is an attitude, not a look!

  • What do you mean that the lady ( Weightwatchers) has not lost any fat only muscle? She looks like she lost FAT. When I say fat I mean water that was in the fat cell.

Hmm she doesn't look like she had much muscle to begin with.

  • If you want to look like her, and believe she is lean, then just follow her diet, don't mind my opinion. I told you I am genetically blessed:)

  • If anything there are far too many people who should NOT be running. They are not strong enough and their running form is bad.

    Running is not for beginners.

What kind of cardio do you do?

  • The only cardio I will do, is explosive cardio that will keep the muscle I worked so hard to gain during training. That will include interval training, or rope skipping. Any cardio that you can do longer than 15 minutes, start eating away your heard earned muscles!

  • You did a fantastic job demonstrating your point. Tnx :-)

  • Thanks hun, glad you enjoyed.

  • i'm with you margaret. i just makes sense to follow someone you want to look like. thanks for this marinda. what a great shot in the arm! you are amazing.

  • Thanks hunnybun, I'm glad you got something out of this.

  • Thanks, fantastic FINAL explanation. :-) O, Mary

  • Thanks Mary, now I can put it to rest, go on with the important stuff, and ignore anybody that asks me that stupid question again.

  • Ha!!! Now remember...as irritating as it may be...ignore them. LOL My husband was the power lifter on the left (sort of) 365 days a year. :-( LOL Happy Valentine's Day!!!

  • Wow! Those figure competitors are smoking. I'm for that. And you are so right about listening to someone who looks the way you want to look. That's what attracted me to your videos!! :^)

  • Thanks Margaret, sigh...and bless your heart. People who don't even train at all, or do cardio only, keep on pestering and challenging me, and I am getting a little irritated by it.

  • Well, they should take a look at the awesome progress of your students. At this rate I'm going be going everywhere in my bikinni come spring! Watch out wal-mart here I come!!
