not really. Me personally I would read the chapter of John in the new testament. In my opinion that chapter explains exactly who god is and what he expects of us. Don't worry god knows you are searching for him. In my experience I searched for god for years and years and couldn't find him. I finally got frustrated and stopped. As soon as I stopped I had a supernatural experience that showed me he is always there. So even though I don't feel him all the time I still pray knowing he hears me.
