Are you aware that being a politician in Portugal is the quickest, unpunished way to reach wealth? Did you know that by law ( a law voted in parliament) all politicians are intitled to a life time retirment (some are earning 10000 euros/month) for 12 years in office? Its time to wake up...

Its all true and great advices really. But it's like it has been stated before. As working citizens we keep struggling paying our debts and taxes while the ones in goverment keep their fancy lifestyle and don't tighten the belt like the people they ask to.
To add insult to injury, they actually give appartments and money to individuals that don't work, never payed taxes, never contributed to the state and cause problems.

Also, tax evasion is a BIG problem. Not just the rich do it. Most people who work in family businesses, agriculture, construction and a lot of the service industries (restaurants, cafés etc) DO NOT pay tax. Yet they use public healthcare and education.

The gold reserves, is part of the stability of the Euro :) If we go to the market and sell that amount of gold, it would start another international cirses, which we want to avoid. I'm speaking in a gold pricing crisis and a Euro pricing crisis... Which would afect Finland too :). So its not a good idea at all.
Vasco da Gama bridge a waste of money?? Well i disagree, 25th of April bridge is currently at the limit of their capacity, that's why we built Vasco da Gama Bridge. The submarines are usefull to patrol the largest exclusive maritime zone of any european country, its usefull, when we consider that a lot of narcotics come from Marroco to Portugal and then to the rest o europe... We got them to try to avoid that... And still, be usefull to full military operations.
@PCartCast White elephant projects are projects that don't bring profit to the government and that hard to get the money that was invested in it back. It doesn't mean that they're not useful at all.
Although I agree with you about Vasco da Gama bridge and the submarines, I think the uploader's advice is good intended. And mainly what he/she's asking is to postpone those projects until we pay them back. Like Sócrates's beloved TGV project even after Portugal's bailout request.
I'm proudly Portuguese but I have to agree with some (majority) of things here described.
I think we need someone from outside Portugal to tell the rules! Firstly we need to improve courts and end with shitty bureaucracy. Only after that corruption will decrease. I've been in Finland and I have Finnish friends and they know Portugal is great! Anyone is invited to come here and check for themselves. We just need honest politics with common sense.

We keep voting for the same people because our older generation is resistant to change...is ingrown in our culture that old=best,when it's proven that a lot of people have been in power since I was born and they don't have a clue,a young faced graduated with experience will never stand a chance in a election,it's a mentality problem.Except of the Gold,I agree with the facts,and most of the students here know that,another thing is implement that change in the gov.

I'm portuguese , and I agree with most of the stuff like ' stop building useless stuff'' stop corruption and invest nore in education we'd like too, at least I would because I always vote for a good president ,but all the other portuguese seem to be dumb or something and always vote for the shittiest of all and that pisses me off ALOT

I'm Portuguese and i have to agree with all this! Seriously and the most important one for me is 1:25 "remove tuition fees from Universities" couldn't agree more. I just finished high school and I didn't even try to apply for University because my family can't support it. This happens with a lot of people too :L And seriously why are Portuguese and Finnish people "fighthing" over youtube? Finland is right we need to make the change. I seriously hope we can do it :/

@Sophiedomingues tens que te candidatar a uma bolsa primeiro... se entenderem que a tua situaçao financeira te impede de estudares numa universidade entao o estado financia-te os estudos. nao me parece dificil. so ha uma coisa, se enquanto estiveres na universidade nao tiveres aproveitamento escolar eles podem-te tirar a bolsa

A minha paciência com estes filandeses está nos limites! Que tal fazermos uma vaquinha para recolher o tal bilião que eles nos vão emprestar?! Podia ser que ainda sobrasse algum eurito para doarmos à filandia para fazerem investigação no campo da inteligência artificial, já que a deles só consegue produzir banalidades e idiotices. i agree, more or less with other ideas.... But perhaps not like they are presented, corruption in a huge problem which we still have to solve, And Tax evasion is a problem that we already started to solve, but will take time :(.

The gold reserves, is part of the stability of the Euro :) If we go to the market and sell that amount of gold, it would start another international cirses, which we want to avoid. I'm speaking in a gold pricing crisis and a Euro pricing crisis... Which would afect Finland too :). So its not a good idea at all.

Vasco da Gama bridge a waste of money?? Well i disagree, 25th of April bridge is currently at the limit of their capacity, that's why we built Vasco da Gama Bridge. The submarines are usefull to patrol the largest exclusive maritime zone of any european country, its usefull, when we consider that a lot of narcotics come from Marroco to Portugal and then to the rest o europe... We got them to try to avoid that... And still, be usefull to full military operations.

@PCartCast White elephant projects are projects that don't bring profit to the government and that hard to get the money that was invested in it back. It doesn't mean that they're not useful at all.
Although I agree with you about Vasco da Gama bridge and the submarines, I think the uploader's advice is good intended. And mainly what he/she's asking is to postpone those projects until we pay them back. Like Sócrates's beloved TGV project even after Portugal's bailout request.

I'm proudly Portuguese but I have to agree with some (majority) of things here described.
I think we need someone from outside Portugal to tell the rules! Firstly we need to improve courts and end with shitty bureaucracy. Only after that corruption will decrease. I've been in Finland and I have Finnish friends and they know Portugal is great! Anyone is invited to come here and check for themselves. We just need honest politics with common sense.
