  • get base model of hyundai genesis coupe . its faster and has more feature on it, but nice video .

  • @KILLERDOWN7

    Its also a hyundai...

  • "Hyundai, so that cant be good." Lmao! Great review man. Thanks for your service.

  • Sweet. You got the same color as I did. Just got mine a couple of days ago, It's a 2012 model, but it's probably the exact same. Great car :D

  • It actually kinda looks like a 2003 Hyundai Accent coupe. :/

  • Thank you for serving in Afghanistan.i have a 08' TC,same color with 5speed ,wing, fogs and the subwoofer in the trunk it's resale value is 14,500,that's great as I only payed $17,000,he'll yes they hold there value.check amazon.com for the subwoofer kit for the hatch,it's only $150 to your door. Ut scion wants $600 for the kit installed :-) 08 and 11' should fit but check first,HOWEVER it is a plug in deal. I park next to a 11' at work and it's the same size car, roof glass, mirrors, bumpers, door

  • @09victoryrc

Thanks. Yea, the car is pretty much the same size, except its wider, has a size bigger tires, and sits lower to the ground. The sunroof has been slightly upgraded thogh from the older models. Scion's keep their resale value pretty good. I sold my 05 for 9K, so I imagine your 08 should get a solid 14K for resale along with those upgrades.

  • Do you use 87octane gas? I have a Scion tc, and I hear it both ways, regular and premium.

  • @NCLove100

Only use regular. Gas is too expensive to get premium on the reg. Works just fine with it too.

  • I bought a Sizzlin' crimson mica metallica (which imo, is the nicest color) 2011 tC... got the spoiler, fog lights, Xenon kits, TRD exhaust and I love it! This tC also has a lot nicer lines.. the old one was just round. The lines on this baby are a lot badder. Only thing I hate about the car is the plastic materials.. door panels scratch easy and the dash components are hard and the engine sounds kinda diesely.

  • @ghostKurt

I agree on the plastic interior. That is the one thing they should have changed about the interior.

  • Nice review man! I'm torn between this and the Hyundai Veloster. The Hyundai's a little down on power, but gets better mileage, has a a dual-clutch auto with paddle shifters and has all sorts of standard tech goodies. On the other hand, the tC is a Toyota and has loads of power. Decisions decisions...

  • I have a 2012 in the exact same color. Best color by far, I looked at all of them in person. Mine doesn't have the spoiler. Love the fog lights. May do that to mine. You gonna tint yours? I keep going back and forth on it. I think tinting is kinda going away. Bought mine for the same reasons you did. Not a sports car by any means, but well worth the few thousand dollars more than a corolla if you can get by with a 2 door. Great vid. Thanks for your service. Enjoy.

  • @tcelikel

I think tint would look good on it, but as time goes by, you will likely have to replace it somewhere or another. I prefer the open look on it right now, but if I were to get different rims on it (which I plan to someday), I would start to seriously think about the tint. Tint would look especially good with black rims. I might get silver rims with black accent though, so I likely wouldn't tint it.The new yellow models look good with tint though, so our color probably would too.

  • the previous scion tc was way better designed the only thing it was lacking was a stronger engine and being a RWD.

  • @TheCashistrash

I disagree. The older Scion was too "round" shaped. It was like a rounder Passat, but with a worse grill. The newer one has better lines, especially the rear of it. If I could change something about the new one though, it would be to add a slightly better grill.

  • DJ1IMITZ Got mine 4 days ago magnetic gray does any one feel vibration on the steering wheel when on drive and more in reverse when fully stopped? I'm getting mine checked on monday 1 second ago

  • what kind of mpgs you getting on it? I wonder if I drive like I stole it and with windows open all the time I wonder how bad MPGs will be? Anybody getting less than 23mpg average? Thanks.

  • Really nice care man! I have been wanting a Scion for a while now, but I am still 16 and not making much in a part-time job to afford one. I hear it has a nice solid feel as far as performance. I know it's nothing sporty, but still very nice with legitimate power. What do you think about that?

  • @laboxingdannyvega

I would agree completely. The engine is a Camry's, so it does have some pretty solid power. The outside gives it its sporty look, which is what really matters IMO. If someone wants the car to perform better, you can always buy aftermarket parts or Toyota's TRD kit.

  • @00SoldierofFortune00 Thank You! By the way, are you planning on adding any aftermarket parts such as a cold air intake or exhaust system, or do you think it feels good enough stock?

  • The engine is a Camry engine... 2.5L that's ugly as hell when you pop the hood.

  • I had an.06 and I.just got my 2012 last week:) loovee it! I just want.fog.lights and trd exhaust and itll be.perfect:)

  • I think the cement and white are the best color!!

  • Auto Transmission=Gay. You sir, are a pussy

  • @realmadridzidane5

U mad bro? Come at me. U mad I don't like having my hand on a stick everytime I'm driving, having to shift in and out of the heavy traffic here? Yea, I'm, a pussy cus I would rather relax and listen to my music in my car rather than worry about fucking gears. I'm sure you can't even afford this car mayne, let alone the extra grand for automatic that's why you are on here hating.

  • @00SoldierofFortune00 in case u didnt notice, sporty cars r not made for a "relaxing" driving experience. if u wana "relax" n chill laid back in ur seat while driving u shud get a 4 door family sedan in automatic instead, that certainly fits ur needs more according to ur previous comment...

  • @lronSausage

This car maybe "sporty" looking on the outside, but its not even close to a "sports car." Also, a new 4 door car is more expensive and I don't need one as I don't have a family or a lot of friends that I have to always drive around. So a 2 door car is fine by me. Also, the ride is smooth, and seats are confortable, and it has the pulldown seats in the back, which are helpful since I needed it to put my military gear in the back and when I moved. Plus it has a nice Ipod system.

  • @realmadridzidane5 talking about a guy that just came back from afghanistan... dumbass

  • @realmadridzidane5 I have the automatic version and I really like it. I work a 9-5, which means I drive in traffic every day. I can't tell you how nice it is to have an automatic in traffic, especially as you're waking up on the drive to work or tired on the way home. Also, when I want to whip it, it has the step shifter that is pretty responsive. Above all, the handling is a dream, grips and whips with cars twice as expensive. Oh, and the back seat reclines, tons of space.

  • @awolfeld

I agree on the automatic.I am almost always tired from either training BJJ/MMA (I train 6 days a week) or from the gym or college. So driving an automatic is just easier for me. And there is a ton of room in the back. I also know from "experience" if you want to call it that lol.

  • @awolfeld Yes these cars are pretty roomy for a coupe, I have a 2006 Scion tC and I love it. I sure do envy your fancy new 6 speed transmission and 180 hp engine though!

  • Back from Afghanistan lol, bet you are glad to be back. Nice country... till you get shot at...

  • @Warrantofficer13

Thanks, or almost blown up lol. I've definately been getting stares at this car lately too, so I'm definately sure its has to be the more "masculine" quality when compared to the older scions. If you were to remove the symbol from the back, most people would never know it was a scion or if they saw it from the side. They would think it was a higher end car. Plus, chicks love it.

  • @00SoldierofFortune00

Do you live anywhere that gets alota snow? I live in Canada and want to get one but dunno how it will do in the winter, I guess I would have to leave it in the garage all winter?

  • @Warrantofficer13

No, I live in Florida, so it never snows here. It does have a traction control button right above the stick which I know is for slippy roads, so it should probably work with the snow as well. You would have to ask Toyota about it to be honest.

  • This is a masculine looking car and its damn nice!

  • Hey, I just got the same car and I love it. It's an automatic, but the thing that worries me is that when I cruise around 20-25mph and let the automatic transmission do it's downshifting, the RPM's go up a little and in that period of downshifting, the car slows down (actually it's more accurate to say that it feels like it locks up) then after the down shift it goes a little faster. Does this happen to your car????

  • @fmlygyfntc

Pretty sure I get the samething myself or something similar. I've noticed it as well. I thought it might have to do with the fuel economy or possibly because the car also has a manual option. Not sure really.

  • @00SoldierofFortune00 alright well I'll just pray that our transmissions will last as long as all the toyota's my family has

have you ever tried taking it to top speed yet?

  • @fmlygyfntc

No, not yet. Haven't even gone past 90 or 95. I have no need to really and can't afford a ticket right now lol. Have you got it up there yet?

  • @00SoldierofFortune00 Yea whenever I drive to work I have to use the highway and people always go 100+ on it, it's hard enough to catch up with them lol

but I've taken it up to 120.

And I've paid a little more attention to the downshifting, so at 25 mph it starts the downshift and locks up until 15

  • @00SoldierofFortune00 after driving to work in this car over the summer, I eventually found a part of the highway where everyone goes over 100, and it's a good 2 mile strip where there aren't any cops. So I took it to 120, it was awesome haha

  • wat about the trd body kit?

  • @SmokeaGame

I didn't have the extra 2 grand to spend on it. Wouldn't mind getting the TRD wheels, but they alone are like 1,500.

  • Similar to my '08 Galactic Grey Mica tC. I'm not a huge fan of the redesign. The front grill looks more like a camry now and the rear looks like a focus. And that rear window looks like a dodge. The spoiler does look nice, as do the wheels. The interior looks like a pontiac or a chevy with all those huge knobs. Aside from my personal views on the design, the tC is an extremely practical car. you might want to get some nice tints to get a more finished look.

  • @seanofmiami

I don't think the grill looks anything like a Camry. My mom has a Camry and her car's front is a lot more rounded whereas the Scion is more boxy. It looks more like the Toyota Fuse design IMO which I think they based it off of. I think the interior is sort of like a Dodge too, but its a big upgrade over the older scions. Wouldn't mind getting some tint on it and new rims either when I can afford it.

  • Damn that color is sick. I have a question if you don't mind. You mentioned that a light comes on when the engine gets hot since there is no temperature gauge but what if you want to floor your car but you shouldn't do it when your engine is cold. So how will you know when the engine gets warm?

  • man that color is siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick!!!!!

  • @KingWixo

It really is. I've only seen one other 2011 scion in this color on the road, and it was without the spoiler and spotlights on it. Most people either have the car in white or black. This is the best color IMO, and the vid really doesn't do it justice. If you were to look at the car from the side, most people would never know it was a scion tc since they changed up the rear side and front side body so much. This color goes good with silver/back rims too or even blacked out rims.

  • The one thing that nobody ever mentions is that there is a kinda second sunroof in the back but doesn't open and the thing that pops up when u open the sunroof is a breaker for there air compression so when you drive it doesn't cause a pain in your ears

  • @GrainValleyRacing

Yea, I just assumed people would either figure it was fixed or ask since I showed it in the vid. And I also mentioned the air compression thing, but I didn't really know what it is for, so thanks for clearing that up.

  • why doesnt it have a temperature gauge?

  • @Darkknight5x5 theres a light that comes on when it runs hot

  • @bryland7 oh okayy thanks:)

  • Nice color

  • Love the new tc. Is the center armrest padded

  • @MrSemi009

Its not. I guess its one of the downsides to the car, but it matches the rest of the interior perfectly. It is actually sturdy too, compared to the 05-10 scion tcs whose armrest whose top part would move when you opened it up.

  • Is there anything you dislike about the car? I have heard that Scion tC's are known to make rattle & squeak noises. Have you noticed any with your new 2011 as compared to your old 2005? One more thing, do you know if the insurance costs are much more on tC's than on other cars such as Honda Civics or Corollas? Thanks!

  • @Timpala44

There is a little rattling, but that's mostly because I turn my music up so loud lol. The 05 had a lot more rattling, but this one isn't bad, if any at all. I know when I test drove it, it was smooth as butter and still is after a 1000 miles. I would recommend going to a dealership and trying one out. I wish the car had maybe a leather interior (althought the standard one is nice already), a slightly louder sound system, and 5 spoke rims standard. It has a lot of features though.

  • Also, Insurance cost are probably about the same as others. Its about 190-200 I guess? I think its the same or a little cheaper than a Camry and probably about the same as a Corolla. Guess it depends on your insurance provider.

  • good video man, i just bought one thats 6 speed manual in blue, hopfully ready to pick up on monday, in canada the bluetooth comes standard and i bought the leather seating for $1900 as an accessory. no spoiler though. maybe a later add on.

  • @DrDeathEMS

Nice. Wish they had the leather seat option when I got it, but 1900 is a little steep. I guess it is worth it for resale though. Same with the 19 inch TRD rims. If you ever make a vid of it, please send me a copy because I would like to see how the interior looks in leather.

  • Also, I forgot to mention that the addiontal spotlights are about 180 dollars and the spoiler is around 450 dollars. That's why my final bill was a little more expensive. Also, if you are military, they are doing a 1,000 off military discount rightn now.

  • hey, great review. Im also looking at the tc for my next car. quick question, hows the gas milage on the car like??

  • @sirshriek69

Gas mileage is 31 for highway, and 23 city. Its better than the 05-10 scions and thats in the upper range for most cars out there these days. Was a pretty good improvement over my 05 scion tc, but obviously 2 mpg isn't going to be a massive improvement. Its good with all the othe features the car has though.

  • @00SoldierofFortune00

thanks for the info. i appreciate it.

  • Think it might have been 20,500, then with taxes it was about 22,500. I also got two perfection plans for it too, but I think the price for it out the door was 22,500. The tax is always going to rise the final price. The manual is 1,000 dollars cheaper though.

  • How much did you get it out the door?

  • Agggggghhh, it bothers me so much when people don't put the rear seat belts back on the hangers... I have to climb back there every time to fix it.
