I just heard this tune on my car's radio. Never heard it before, and thought it from the early rock n roll era-Bill Haley time period. I was really surprised to find out that this came out in....1948! Definitely ahead of its time!
Great even with a small combo (as his original recording of this number was) but if you are looking for something more 'gutsy' then listen to his later New Orleans recording of this number with ,among others, Justin Adams on guitar and Nat Perrilliat on tenor sax , New Orleans at its best!!
