@aldricsuan I play quietly at home most of the time so yes the A5's are a good fit. If I was pricing out monitors at this point specifically for use with mixing, recording AND playing the AxeFX (and I could afford it) I would shoot for the A7x. Numerous AxeFX guys are using the A7's and they compare well to much more expensive monitors from makers like Focal. They are really good imho...
Wow, tons of comments that I have not replied to... axefx is still top of the food chain for modelers IMHO. With firmware 10.3 he has amazing sims from the Marsha (Dave Friedman), Bogner Shiva.... Just unbelievably good. The 11 rack has an expansion pack right around the corner so that's cool too. I miss my Tinman Tele... That was a kicking guitar, super versatile. Still rocking the Adam A5s, perfect for small stuff. I did have a qsc k10 and the axefx ROCKED thru that configuration. super mobil
Hey I want to buy axe fx and krk 6 inch monitors... in order to buy that I'll have to sell my 5150 head, mesa 412, noise gate, and save 300 bucks cash... idk if it's worth it, will I get good low end and somewhat decent bedroom volume from 6 inch big studio monitors?
hi there, im getting a pair of adams, was wondering , if i were to connect them with an xlr cable into an interface, would you loose sound quality if the cable was xlr one end and jack the other end, because im getting an alesis iou2 sound card and it only has a jack port for the monitors
@hunterwh1980 Hi, I am using the 1/4" (unbalanced) ouput 1 left and right into my audio interface (I think this was an Echo Audio Audiofire8 at the time). I will go on record to say the XLR balanced out's sound much better (mainly because I believe they add +6dB to the signal?) and are super clean... Also going direct from the XLR out's of the AxeFX to the Adam A5's sounds just perfect, but I need stuff wired into my audio interface so I can record direct at the drop of a hat.
@TalleyWacker1000 Thanks! I just sold my 65 Amp Lil Elvis and a ton of boutique pedals so I can get an Axe FX. Your video helped me take the plunge. I like the Fractal Atomic but fot now I am going to go with studio monitors and slowly build up a recording rig with my mac. The Adam A5's are on clearance right now and they seem really sweet!!! Great tone you have by the way.

Thanks! It's hard to capture the in the room vibe using a camcorder, but I'm finding the AxeFX through studio monitors comes dangerously close and it really is a fantastic unit, especially for at home low volume players like myself. FWIW these volumes were VERY low, around speaking level or less. I just got the call on the new Fractal / Atomic power amp / cab that was built for use with the AxeFX. I'm going to go for it and I'll try and do another clip with that rig as well.
I love these monitors. They are flat and smooth and crystal clear at the same time. They have been highly reviewed in pretty much every forum and mag as well. There is a larger size named the A7, not sure what size monitor you are looking for. Hope that helps, Thanks
is the 5 inch woofer enough for the axe fx?

@TalleyWacker1000 Thanks for the reply. With your audio interface do you use a 1/4 to rca cable to plug into the Adam A5's?
