Albert Lee is awesome. Didn't realize he was English till I heard him speak at the intro to this video. Amazed that he was not "discovered" in the '60s when I grew up in London England and was crazy about the Stones, Beatles, Chuck Berry, and ga-zillion English groups who have now vanished from the music scene. So glad that Albert Lee has survived so well. He belongs to the top elite of R&R particularly the subset of the "English Invasion". Thanks for the post.
Just saw Albert Lee toinght (For FREE!) at the Culver City city Hall garden/open area..Summer concert series...Fantastic show...he was backed by the Carl Verheyen Band...and he was "smokin' " ^/^
I saw Albert in 1972 in London with Head, Hands, and Feet. wow!! It was a very strange band, but whenever he got a solo the hairs would stand up on the back of my neck. He has 2 or 3 excellent solo albums from back in the 80's worth buying if you can find them.
I enjoy watching these guys play great guitar on YouTube. But I'm always dismayed at the terrible camera angles and shots. How oftten do we watch an incredible solo and the camera is on the guitarists face. His fingers are cookin' and the camera stays on his face. And it this video the camera is watching the back of his right hand from the end of this guitar. We need more camera peole who understand musicians, especial guitarists.
@guitarsalert other guy is correct, this is Music Man Albert Lee model, Cost between $1500 to well over $2500 for limited Ball Family Reserve Model. If you want this sound you need to look for model configured with 3 single coil pups known as the SSS.
Originally written and recorded by the Rock and Roll Trio (1956)..To hear the original guitarist on this ..Search out Paul Burlison on youtube go down to Rock and Roll Trio..Paul Burlison of the original trio playing with DJ Fontana at age 71..yr 2000
@dburlison1 Thanks for the info mate. I knew nothing about the origins of the song and it was great to see a clip which not only included the original guitarist but the ever young mr DJ Fontana as well.
You always excell Albert keep on rockin saw you at the Eddie Cochran memorial at Chippenham you are a great player & singer how about a spot at the Americana
hot damn! @3:47 Albert bent his low E down an octave on that non-locking guitar and the sucker sprang right back into tune! what can I say!? saying that Albert is a great player is like saying "water is wet".

There is also HSS which is humbucker at bridge position. The newer models have two Humbuckers known as HH, but this configuartion is not same sound for obvious reasons. SSS model seems to be most sought after and rarely see one for sale used for less than $1k.
@taariqtaariq When I was on myspace,he and his peeps were friends, and they are the sweetest bunch of people you would ever want to meet. Yes, I love A.L. Thx 4 the comment..Phyllis....
@careing57587 I saw Albert humble a very drunk Eddie Van Halen at a NAMM show in Ca. back in the early nineties. They were putting on a demonstration together and Albert made Eddie sound silly. Not on purpose, mind you, Albert is way too classy a guy for that.
@Guitarist1617 Please tell me how he sounds Australian? why do Americans always assume English people are Aussies, I'm from London, England and i've been asked that a few times.
Alvin Lee, Woodstock, "Ten Years After" his "Goin Home" song was unbelievable. Cranked out young man just like the rest of us were listening to him. check it out if you can find it on you tube
LOL, stop giving this guy the thumbs down! He's just making a joke -- I thought it was pretty funny me'self. Honestly, we all know Brent Mason is ridiculously good. And comparing him to Lee is like comparing apples and oranges! So let's just ... revere all of them as gods. Problem solved!
