  • I used to see Jimmy McGriff in Newark,N.J. at The Playboy Club on Central Ave. back in 1983.Onenight, Jimmy jammed with Groove Holmes-2 organs in action. Both organists are deeply missed. Thanks so much for sharing precious memories!

  • Play the blues!!!

  • Wow, Hank was playing his solo as is on the studio recording. Fantastic. Bob's tone is amazing, his solo was perfect mix of blues and some out playing. Missed Jimmy's Solo though :(

  • Great playing Bob!

  • Thank you for this stunning piece of music...all great players : I especially enjoyed Bob's playing.

  • WOW! Thanks for this! Any more fotage of these greats is welcome. Frame for the Blues was written (I think) by Slide Hampton...

  • Love this. What a great tune and so beautifully done. Would there be a DVD available of this performance?

  • To my knowledge there is no DVD available. Check out the other 3 tunes from this group in my videos.

  • This is FANTASTIC! Thanks for posting this one and all the other tunes!

  • I wish I could have heard this group live, Hank Crawford and Bob DeVos, wow. DeVos' blues feel and note choices are top in my book. Catch DeVos doing this tune live with his trio now-- richer, fatter sound, playing both cooler and hotter

  • @fretsnnuts I saw Jimmy and Hank several times when he was at Jimmie's in Oakland and the Red Lion here in Sacramento California. I loved Jimmy and I miss him every time I hear someone try to play a B-3. He was the best. I think better than Jimmy Smith and a much better attitude as a person...
