  • I love how Muni and Pachino's take on scarface are exact opposites. Muni is perpetually collected and in control, Pachino is ill tempered and hair-triggered yet both delivered performances that embodied remorseless gangsters with some truly scary parallels.

  • wow i never seen the 1930's veroin b4 but after watchin thies clips im hooked! i gotta watch the full movie

  • Thanks for sharing!

  • That is one well-armored car. I'll watch this after watching Al Pacino's Scarface...gawd, I love Al Pacino!

  • What is the music at 6:04?

  • 1.26 original sound

  • 6 People turned yella and squealed

  • Bit of a shame they pay homage to these scenes in the 1983 remake a little bit too close to the original. Some of the dialogue is identical. I always thought remakes only should keep the basic story but leave out the similar scenes and dialogue.

  • i miss paccino saying "FUCK U"

  • @cincinrex So, which one are you: fake or gay?

  • did the two movies have anything alike? rather than just a main protaganist with a scar?

  • @117piehitman They are the same story except to deal with the problem of there time period, This is about an Italian and alcohol and the remake is about a Cuban and cocaine.

  • Im 92er but i also love the old times from movies. Everything had style. the cars are great, the clothes are legen... wait for it.. dary and everything was obviously better.

  • @ GuilhermeBlanck. ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? THIS IS ACTING! Al Pacino's SCARFACE WAS HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS. I MEAN AL PACINO IS A GREAT ACTOR. BUT THIS GUY IS A WAYYYYYY BETTER ACTOR. THIS SCARFACE ABOUT AL CAPONE. NOT A DRUGY. THIS IS A REAL GANGSTER!

  • Hahaha this ain't got shit on De Palmas scarface

  • THIS IS SCARFACE NOT THAT SHITY AL PACHNO IMBERSMENT EVERYONE LIKES! THIS IS REAL GANGSTER

  • @UFEELLUCKYPUNK shut up, u don't know what ur talking about. Al Pacino's performance is way better than Muni's.

  • @UFEELLUCKYPUNK well even that al pachnos verson is a remake it sets a hole new ganster film so ther defrint movies but wit the same name

  • @cincinrex true dude, back then boobs were real and the air was clean XD

  • @cincinrex hitler was a crazy motherfucker

  • @cincinrex everything was cool in the 30's :) exept nazis

  • @sweenkingandwow2

Everything about ENTERTAINMENT was cool back then... Not life really...

  • @TheRandomGrabber the life was rough :( atleast what grandpa told :P

  • @sweenkingandwow2

  • @canclerx93

    You Fail. The 1932 way.

  • This is REAL Gangsta Shit right here!

  • 4:35

  • the guy with the hat flicking the coin looks like pacino as michael corleone. damn what a remarkable coincedence

  • 6 people know nothing about the classics sad souls

  • @03jerrysmth What the hell are "classics sad souls"? :> Learn the interpunction, you moron!

  • @paryseusz uhhh..no..i said that people know nothing about the classics THEN i said that they were sad souls...think before you say shit you dumbfuck...

  • @03jerrysmth Before you'd call me a "dumbfuck" again, learn to read with understanding. I completely understood what you were trying to say but LEARN THE FUCKING PUNCTUATION. I know THEN you sad they were sad souls. But you missed one very important thing that is a COMMA - " , ".

  • @paryseusz uhhh..you know that there are MILLIONS of people here who do that and your poking me out of all these people..

  • Lets not forget that this scarface set the standards and lot of inspiration for the pacino scarface.

  • Like the great depresion. Or how many people then were uneducated, alcoholic, abusive morons. How most people then were intolerant of others (others races, homosexuals, etc.) Like how they were allowed(legal) to beat their wives and children thinking they're good parents. Even though most people were fucking morons.

  • Paul muni did an excellent job in this film. His face was scary when he confirmed that it was Lovo that sent the goons.

  • aaaaa moj je veci od tvog

    axxaxaaxx

    lol

  • @cincinrex i prefer the 50s or 60s era but im sure the 30s was also interesting especially the mob back then even my great grandfather had something to do with that shit

  • Now that's real acting with originality I'd pay good money to watch!!

  • paul muni was a great actor. I noticed elements characterized, Method acting in there. Smart

  • @cincinrex 120% agreed : 3

  • @cincinrex lol

  • @cincinrex except for The Depression lol

  • love this movie!

  • This character was suppose to represent Al Capone, but he's name is Tony, which is more on lines with Tony Montana in the Al Pacino character in his Scarface. Paul Muni does an excellant job

  • This character was suppose to represent Al Capone, but he's name is Tony, which is more on lines with Tony Montana in the Al Pacino character in his Scarface.

  • @OrignalEsshole I never said it wasnt da original movie... I said thr is another version of da movie wit da same name. I thought dis was it!! Dat movie is based on da real Al Capone 2!

  • Dis is dope gotta get dis on DVD! I thought that dis was another Scarface movie & not da 1 wit Pacino in it.... Its another Scarface frm da 50's dats bout Al Capone! Check it out!!

  • @BigTerri9128 Dis is actually the original Scarface movie made in the year 1932, not fifties. And this movie is based on the REAL Scarface, Al Capone.

  • even gangsters dressed well in those days

  • I got "the word is yours" on a tattoo!!! :)

  • NOTHING LIKE THEM ORIGINAL MOB MOVIES!!!!

  • The car chase was awesome. Even the backdrop parts. They almost didn't feel like backdrops were being used. WHat i really liked about it was that they didn't speed it up like a Three Stoges bit.

  • @cincinrex yeah, and WWII was cool too?

  • The real scarface was actually Alphonse "Al" Capone.. Or as he was nicknamed "Scarface Al Capone". He got a scar on his chin when he was in a knifefight. True story. Both of the Scarface films are very loosely based on this real gangster.. If you don't know about him, check it out..

  • I still think 1983 was better than this one

  • Why couldn't the gangsters now a days be as cool as the ones from the 30's? lol. They wore suits and ties and fancy clothes back then. Now a days they wear baggy pants and show off their boxers.....nice! lol.

  • Comment removed

  • scarface was al capone in chicago not a cuban drugdealer they called scarface the drugdealer becuse he had a scar on his face from eating P#%Y besides that the real scarface name as in gangster terms lol means ALFONSE CAPONE...fact

  • damn boring

  • @mushal7james7tony dont look that simples

  • When people say scarface, they're usually referring to the 1983 remake.

  • @Dgamer21 but the 1983 remake is so mucg better

  • @valontheagle yes of course. But Many people don't know about this film.

  • wtf? there was a 1930's version? i thought it was just the remake

  • @IMZEECATMAN scarface 1932 is about italians, scarface 1983 is about cubans, understand :D

  • some body put some alpachino on you tube and the full version of the original. they keep taking them off. bastard.

  • THE BOOTLEGGERS WERE WELL COOL SO LONG TO PROHIBITION 1920/1933

  • THE WORLD IS YOURS

  • such a badass

    hahahaha :D

  • *1983* I'm not gonna kill you, manolo kill dat peice of chit. -fires gun-

  • So to clarify -- When I said Tony, I was referring to Anthony Perkins the actor in "Psycho" who was Osgood Perkin's real life son. I hadn't meant that Muni flipped the coin, I was referring to the flipping of the coin as part of the ambience. And, yes, I know that the film noir genre technically begins in the 40's-50's. My belief is that it is a proto-film noir.

  • The original film noir. Muni as Scarface is pure hate. The flipping of the coin, the whistle, juxtaposed with the look on Muni's 'scarface' and Osgood Perkins (Tony's dad) is so good when says, "I'll give you Poppy". and then his voice goes up in soprano each time. The scene is perfect!

  • Comment removed

  • @CryptReaperDorian That guy who was flipping that coin he was a real gangster in mob.

  • @CryptReaperDorian I HAVE THE MOVIE

  • this film was produced by Howard Hugues the aviator

  • Ha! Everyone smoked in these movies.

  • hahahaha

The version of 1983 is better

  • @videogamester07 it was made available on DVD with the scarface gift set they released a while back. the set came with the 20th annaversary dvd of 1983's scarface, the original 1928 version, a monogrammed Tony Montana money clip, and some promotional photos. you might be able to find the set on eBay, but it may cost a bit.

  • Does anybody know the title of Camonte's whistle out of Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor? Is it "Chi mi frena in tal momento"?

  • omg scarface was in the 30s ! dude that means al pichinos was a remake :O

  • @1a90op didn't u no that?

  • @1a90op

    Fucking idiot!!

  • this is original gangster shit

  • hát ez lol :D

  • love this movie

  • Damn I never knew Scarface was a remake. The scenes are SO similiar to the Al Pacino version. just from an 1920s point of view.

  • @sw1zzie this one was made by howard hawks to make fun of al capone but capone thought it was funny, he bought the first copy that went up for sale, that really pissed howard off lol

  • @SinistaMinista666 thats no true al capone try to hide this movie the movie was finish and ready for release in 1930 but al capone hate the movie so he prevent the release of the movie when he was sent to jail in 1932 whit no power howard hawks release the movie

  • @mensajero89 i like my story better lol

  • @mensajero89

No actually. He loved the movie and owned a copy of it. Theres a whole story where the writers told Capone's gaurds that Scarface was meant to trick the audience into thinking it was about Capone. Capone liked a good con, so he allowed them to go through with it and ended up liking the movie.

  • @sw1zzie

    fucking idiot

    its the 1930s

    your such an uncultured fuck!

  • @DarkAntiU94 Two Words FUCK YOU

  • @sw1zzie no actually movies with audio werent made until the 30s the earliest being 1927 and this movie was made in 1930 and was delayed release until 1932 so I would suggest maybe looking into these movies. im 15 and i LOVE classic movies in my opinion they are even better than recent movies. These movies were real, had genuine actors, and focused in dialogue rather than flashy special effects. Better quality movies with a meaning and imagination.

  • @AteuAnticristo

English Motherfucker Do You Speak It!

  • its so ironic that tony says john lovo gets other ppl to "do it for him" but right after he says that, he has rinaldo "do it for him" as well. haha

  • This is a fun movie but the 1983 reimagining is better since it improved on the original just like The Thing or Fly remakes did.

  • @Johnlindsey289 the 1983 was just plain stupid. He was latino and it was about cocaine smuggling...absolutely nothing to do with the actual scarface or anything similar..

  • @Joethegreat15

Do you think Scarface 1983 is an in-name-only remake?

  • The New Version Of Al Pacino Is Better.

  • @MusicVolumeX I don't think it's a new version. Scarface whit Al pacino is a whole new movie.

  • @Tatresia The one with Pacino is based on this one. Thats why the dialogue and scenes are similar

  • is that car supposed to be bulletproof?

  • @bosnia91 lmao thats what i was thinking

  • This is the real shit!!!!

  • @MsMOVIESSSTAR Buy it ya tightgit.

  • i like 1982 better

  • @freshbro12

    You must mean 1983

  • the one with al pacino in it is mostly based on him. but not the endin of it

  • i like expression THE WORLD IS YOURS.

  • that´s all the movie?

  • criss c vrais que ya bin dé scene qui ressemble au film de 1983 ....

  • i love scar face is this worth a watch as in better than al pacino

  • is this movie worth 2 buy?

  • The original will always be the best. The remake was good too though.

  • The World is yours a scarface classic

  • You can purchase the movie at barnes and noble - they have the full version, remastered, subtitled and with the whole shebang that usually comes with re-releases.

Simply type in Scarface: The Shame of a Nation (it was the original title) and you'll find it.

  • I did't know there was another Scarface?

  • dude there is like 4

  • Ok, but I am not a male.

  • fucking amazin!!!

  • it's a film based on al capon

  • Al Capon isnt from Cuba, people say it was because Al Capone has a big scar on his face, but it's not actually based on him.

  • not Scarface from 1983 i meant this Scarface, some parts of story is based on him not the hall thing...

  • i got this movie in a library in nj bergen county

  • This is my favorite scene in the film. A classic.

  • The movie is about a person from poor to rich and got rich with balls. In the real society of-course it may not look or sound logic but a person with all the guts, the dream is only one and that is POWER ! NO MONEY, NO POWER ! But at the end he just fall to deep into his money and his power..............................

  • Can anyone upload the entire movie on you tube? I haven't seen the original yet, and I really want to.

  • Yeah I cant find the full movie anywhere

  • okay this tony camonte is badass but in the end of this movie he is just a coward, tony montana in the other hand was totally badass to the end.

  • hea ur right want with that?

  • well that's kinda how a gangster would ahveto go out at the end back then

  • lol

  • great

  • this is'nt the style of scarface modern , tony is crazy and have clothes of boys not clothes of misters you know how is he

  • this was the first scarface movie in what scarface from 1983 was based in!

  • @farlopabalboa WOW REALLY WOW......../sarcasm

  • It goes so fast becouse old movies were faster, not like modern. Its kind a nostalagic feeling i like it.

  • i need the barrels here tonight see i can kill any 2 bit mug i want see.

  • Why all the americans in the old videos talk like that, like very fasta and with that funny accent? like the guy who is talking with Tony Camonte in 0:28..

  • Paul Muni is great!!

  • it was because they had to sound like lower class people who talked faster and used a lot of slang. But actors in that time had a tendency to overact hehe =P

  • this movie makes it look like the gansters were just morons that talked like that all the time.

  • Its becouse old movies needed to go faster, I dont know the reason but... :D They just needed :D

  • he was nervous

  • @DiablillodeOz Possibly to cut down on film time. Carnivals and auctions have a really fast mode of speech. Old sports casters used to talk a mile a minute as well. It's probably to get more out in a limited amount of time.

  • Comment removed

  • Antonio Camonte is my hero

  • Not bad. i should look for it. Tony Comante looks like a physco.

the case was alot better than than the fastforward chases in the 3 stooges.

  • Tony = Tony

    Johnny = Frank

    Baboreo = Manny

    Pedro = Nick the Pig!!!

    lol

  • Looks like an good movie right there. TCM shows abit of old gangster movies sometimes too. I hope scarface will show up there

  • The ONLY person meant to play Tony is Al Pacino... 1983 is the best by far.

  • NOT IT IS NOT! It isn't even that good.

  • If he wasn't planning on doing anything that night, why was he in a tux?

  • They would almost always wear their tux back then. (Almost all the gang people anyway)

  • @lgolken

He was at dinner at a night club, seducing the bosses girl.

  • His name wasn't Montana because it wasn't a state yet.

  • to be honest, I think De Palma got it from the quarterback, Joe Montana. I read it somewhere.
