The black box whit the blue Volvo sticker is a ""Chrysler" Ignition Control unit pn the Bosch 2.2 system.. Here in Sweden, the called for "88A" Since the system was only sold the first 6 months of 1988 here in Sweden.
Personally I, don't touch there cars since there is on On-Board Diagnostics in the system.
The Bosch 2.4 system that was used from 1989 to 1995 has On-Board Diagnostics and easy find out the what the problem is.
